Used the Yelp app to get junk removal estimates. This company responded quickly with phone numbers of managers and link to schedule an estimate/service. TIP: Call the managers before 4pm and after 8am even though the hours listed on Yelp are 8a to 6p. (Found out other companies are the same, so I'm assuming the listed hours are the hours they will actually show up/work to. Office hours are different. When I got a call back from Nainoa, he was so pleasant, professional, and cheerful. He verified there's a Yelp discount and began to explain how they charge (info also available on website). Their first message response also includes the dimensions of their trucks, so you can get an idea of your cost If you're able to estimate the volume is your junk once you speak to someone. I had also left a message with another manager, Micah. I'm not sure I'd he never returned my call or if he was the manager who called me to ask if they could come earlier than the scheduled time, but I couldn't hear him well since I was in a store and he spoke softly and wasn't clear. I said I couldn't have them come early. (It was 10:49) Nainoa gave a very rough estimate based on the pics I included in my request for an estimate as 1/2 truckload. (But it was not firm quote, of course.) He explained there were two discounts,$50 and $100 and the $100 was for 1/2 loads and up and he wasn't sure if my stuff would make the full 1/2 load. Also mentioned I had gotten a call and the person I couldn't have them come early. Nainoa said they would come during the appt time (12-2). One truck arrived around 12:30. He said he was new (he gave his name but I forgot it. (Sorry.) He was very pleasant and friendly. He said he'd look at the upright piano in the house (everything else was in the patio outside already) and let the other driver (he did say his name) that was coming (his boss) know about it. He mentioned his boss was taking his load to drop it off and would be arriving soon. The other driver showed up shortly and I do not remember him introducing himself. He was quiet and barely spoke to me or looked at me. Will not make guesses as to why, but after reading the many reviews about how pleasant Nainoa and some of the other guys were (and how pleasant Nainoa was on the phone), it was a let down. They worked quickly and efficiently and were done in about an hour (majority of my junk were large items - four couches, an upright piano, etc.) It turned out that at my stuff filled a total of 2/3 of a truck (it was divided between two trucks. They filled a partially filled truck and then loaded the rest in the empty second truck. It was harder for me to really see that it was 2/3 off a load, but I'll trust them as reputable so while slightly disappointed it wasn't the 1/2 load Nainoa thought it might be, I was ok with this since I got the Yelp discount that pretty much brought the cost down to a 1/2 load price. Would have been a five star review if the main guy was friendly as Nainoa and the quantity of my things was 1/2 load (but I do understand the rough estimate by photos is just that, a rough estimate.) You pay by credit card and your receipt is emailed to you. Looked for the names of the drivers on it but it wasn't there (just for purposes of this review.) Sorry - deleted the photos of my stuff that I took to get the estimate (forgot about posting them) and decided not to retrieve them from the recently deleted album on my phone. Would I use them again? Probably. Having been given transparency on how they charge before they arrived, I may forgo getting an estimate and just schedule a pickup in the future. (That wasn't available with another locally owned company that I was hoping to support since they were local.) But that will depend on what I need to get rid of next. (If I can figure out the volume of whatever else i I want to dump.) VERY HAPPY on having all my stuff gone in two days. Starting the effort to get estimates on day one, and job done by day two. I had a bunch of trash and a microwave my building wouldn't let me throw in the dumpster, and I don't drive, so I had to schedule a pickup. James and Nico gave me a call saying they could come by earlier than the scheduled time, so that was awesome. Hired these folks to haul away 50 years worth of accumulated old furniture and stuff. They estimated 70% of a truck load. So two just showered guys show up and just start going at it. I mean like one guy is a slim poly dude and he puts heavy things on his shoulder and walks out the door. And not just kinda heavy things, stuff like the old govt style metal desks, you know the kind with the pliable writing surface that looks like clay? Them buggahs are heavy. So 45 mins later. Pau. $800. Best money ever spent. No way we could've moved all of that junk in a week without buying everyone beer, catering a dinner and twisting a truck owners arm. Added bonus was watching them fit all of the junk into the truck like Tetris. Reminded me of the Simpsons. Google Homer Tetris... Cause 70% has to fit in 70% of the truck. Seriously. So then they say on to the next job. After they shower again while someone else unloads the truck back at the base yard. Cool business. read more

Byron and Javier were great communicators the day of. Had to troubleshoot the stairs of my 3rd floor walk-up apartment for heavy items, but ended up with a very efficient and dramatic process. In one hour, they got rid of everything and drove it away!!! I was in the apartment for 7 years on on-island for 20. It's not 1-800-GOT-JUNK, it's 1-800-BUST-ASS Remodeling my floor and kitchen (I know you read my American Carpet One review) I created a lot of trash. I planned on making a couple of trips to the local dump site but after some through and a first and last 30 min wait in line, I decided I needed help. Yelping trash removal, GOT-JUNK was my best option. They had weekend services and I like the fact I can choose early morning or evening. I couldn't get an exact quote on the phone since they needed to see how much I had. For that, you can either send pics to their site or have an team come to your place and quote you there. I chose to have a team come to my house and give me an estimate. I could either accept the quote, reject their offer, or negotiate. That Sunday, Thomas came to my house followed by Keoni in his truck. They had a second job in the same area. Thomas estimated I would fill up 5/8 to 2/3 of his truck. I like the price and off they went. I had to remind theses guys to take a break and pass them some drinks because they were moving nonstop. Trying to make their other appointment I guess. Picking up, overhead press toss, and side slinging my garbage into Thomas' truck; they were done in about 50 mins. All without the truck not having a back lift. I appreciated them then working non stop and watering my lawn with their sweat. No really, they worked hard and had time to tell me a little bit about the company and themselves. I even offered them my dishwasher since it worked but to the trash it went. Unfortunately due to Covid they can't donate a majority of my things.
