I can't express how thrilled I am with the service we received! We called at 11 PM on a Friday night, desperately needing to remove a couple of old couches before a party in just two days. To my surprise, they answered right away and scheduled an appointment for the very next morning! Connor and Taylor arrived exactly when they said they would, even sending a text 30 minutes in advance to confirm our appointment. Their professionalism and friendly demeanor made the whole process a breeze. They provided a fair quote and immediately got to work, finishing the job in under 20 minutes! It looks like i will be lowering my 2 star review to 1 star. As soon as I posted the original review for misleading service quotes, they reached out asking for details, which i provided. I soon received an email stating that they were researching the matter and would soon be in touch. 3 weeks later, no response, so i sent another email... four weeks in...crickets. i appears that their Yelp responses are only intended to make it appear that they actually respond to issues. While driving on I-35, I was behind one of this company's trucks when debris flew out of it and struck my vehicle, causing visible damage. The truck responsible immediately sped away, and I chose not to engage in a dangerous pursuit. I promptly contacted the company's 1-800 number to report the incident. The representative assured me that an investigation would be initiated. Upon safely exiting the highway and confirming the damage to my truck, I called again to update the report. At that time, I was informed that an "incident report" would be generated and that an area manager would follow up with me. That manager, Jacob Hawthorne, has since completely denied that the incident occurred -- as well as denying that I ever made either of the two calls. This level of negligence and dishonesty is completely unacceptable. If you experience anything remotely similar with this company, I strongly urge you to contact law enforcement immediately. It is clear they are more interested in avoiding accountability than doing the right thing. They will go to great lengths to cover themselves, even if it means lying outright. ----------------------------------------- In response to the owner's reply, I've already spoken with Jacob Hawthorne, Regional Director of Safety & Fleet at Southwind. He made the company's stance clear. At this point, I have no intention of continuing to chase a resolution that clearly isn't coming. I had 1-800-GOT-JUNK come out to quote disposing of a small grill (no propane), recliner, and reasonable sized patio furniture today. I had a local company quote me $150 all in for this job but wanted to see what 1-800-Got-Junk would charge. The two guys that came were great, but you could tell this is a very sales heavy company. They quoted me $400 (with a straight face). When I showed them my quote from the local company I had received they were able to lower the price closer to the other companies offer. (Which I accepted) Quick and convenient, however not an interaction you will leave feeling good about or saying "that's a great company" or "I'm glad I had them do the work." Instead, you will feel like you almost got taken advantage of, having to negotiate harshly for a fair price. Then after telling them I was moving to an apartment, they tried selling me an annual subscription. There is a difference between being informative of the companies services and overly sales driven. Save the sales pitch, research and go with a local company. Only putting 2 stars because the service guys were very nice and respectful, but it's hard to know if anyone is genuine about doing fair and honorable business these days. read more

September 30, 2024 Adrian's and Elijah's customer focus is outstanding! Adrian explained prices, procedures and policies prior to looking over the items to be removed, which were in the garage, sub-basement and backyard. He and Elijah worked exceptionally well together, both carefully and efficiently loading the truck with items to be recycled or passed on as donations. They moved a cabinet down two flights of steps, and then were on their way. It would have taken a number of days, two relatives, and multiple car trips to donation sites to get this done if it were not for this excellent service. read more

Be aware: 1800Got Junk charged me for picking up junk and for a reoccurring membership. I started calling on the day of the service to cancel the membership but no one was available. I then called every day the next week and spoke to 5 different people with none of them able to help cancel the membership. 100% incredible service from start to finish. The customer service rep I spoke to on the phone was informative, helpful and low pressure. I had to initially cancel (my new mattress hadn't arrived yet, and she was so gracious). The person I spoke with for scheduling after the fact made it so easy and worked with my schedule with no issues. He offered a nice, two hour window the next day, even though I had messaged him late the night before. My pickup team was in total communication the entire day, arrived on time, were super friendly and helpful, and got things taken care of with no effort on my end. The level of friendliness, professionalism, and low pressure was incredible. Honestly, it makes me want to get rid of more things, just to work with them more. Yesterday was my first experience with Got-Junk, and I was happily impressed. I had a mattress and box springs I needed removed. They worked with me on the price, offered to pick it up by the afternoon (even though I was calling in the afternoon), and upheld their promises to have Nash, the conveyor, to call before coming to ensure it would be a good time. Once the items were loaded, Nash provided me a secure way to remunerate the transaction and took the time to talk to me and explain more about Got-Junk and what happens to the items they obtain. I appreciate the explanation since I had never worked with Got-Junk before. I was also happy to hear that Got-Junk also recycles the material, like my mattress and box springs might be disassembled and chopped for insulation in a house or given to someplace that might need them for another purpose. Just wow! Called these guys at the recommendation of my wonderful Realtor, Sharon Aubuchon, on Sunday morning. They were there by Sunday afternoon and told us about their company, quoted a price, and got to work right away. I was stunned that they started immediately! I figured they'd get us on their calendar and come back in 2 weeks or something. But they just started hauling crap out of my former residence. It was awesome! Jack and Cody did a great job hauling the rotted wood from our old pergola my family tore down. The service was good, but the price was astronomical! $770 including a 10% tip! I should have read the lowest Google reviews before hiring them. Will never use them again.I will also repost this review on our homeowners association private Facebook page to warn 400 other families not to use them. How many of these 5 star Google reviews are verified? None. I suspect their employees are making them up. Check their real reviews on the local Better Business Bureau. Ripoff company! read more

Way too pricey for moving 3 things total over $400.00 and that isn't including the "tip". Online diagram show stacking up junks, guys show up and show laying them flat. I was the first customer, they load sofa first then love seat then finally pushed in the fridge long way parallel to the truck. There was plenly of space left on the truck bed and all the top area. Still they charged me 1/2 truck full rate. Need a better pricing systems cause they can probably charge you whatever price they want. Update: gotjunk emailed me saying someone will contact me by end of day on tues and if i dont hear anything to call this guy directly on wed morning. I called him left a message still haven't heard anything. Once they got your money they disappeared. As for us the only thing that dissappear is our money. I regret using 1-800-Got-Junk for two reasons. 1) I got a call from the area manager (I forget his name, but the number was 913-226-7815) and we negotiated my price down to $70. Well, he didn't write it in his notes and so there was no record of that price. I was disappointed that the area manager would personally call me then turn around and go back on what we negotiated. Plus, they showed up after I had received my other item so I already got the couch out onto the porch for them. I reluctantly paid the price because I was going on 3 hours of sleep, but I regret that. 2) The two gentlemen that showed up to pick up the couch were professional, walked me through the process, and overall seemed like nice guys. However, they left two large scratches in my porch that I didn't noticed until after they had left. It wasn't a heavy couch, my sister and I were able to lift it no problems. Update: I was contacted by a representative of this business in my area. We had a quick conversation and the issue was resolved. I really do appreciate the customer service and the speed of the correction. I would use this service in my area again. read more

This morning Nick and Brenden from 1-800-got-junk drove a hour from Kansas City to take away years of accumulated junk. They were very mannerly, polite and respectful young men. Before they started I was told up front how much it would be and how long it would take them to get it loaded. As it says in the commercial, just point and they will haul it away. It might be a little pricey, but living in the country it is hard to find someone who would take everything that these young men loaded onto their truck. I will definitely use this company again in the future when I have more things to be hauled off. I will also request Nick and Brenden and would recommend them to do work for others. How much easier could getting rid of junk be! We scheduled online and got an appointment when we wanted it. They called when they said they would and arrived exactly when they said they would. There were three very professional and friendly men, we showed them our three piles of junk and they quoted us on the high side but once they loaded it all up it was half the quote. They are fast and efficient and I love that the company tries to recycle or reuse before just pitching. I have already referred a friend and will certainly use them again. I never had used a junk removal company but was very pleased with the results. I had an 8:00 - 10:00 range appt but Eddy and Trey called that they would be here at 5 til 8 - ready to go. We walked through and showed them all the large objects for removal. They gave a quote and I let them do their thing in just over an hour. They were very professional and I am happy to get rid of the large items that would have taken a rental truck and all day to do ... and the landfill fees. Will hire these two again if/when I am ready for another haul from the house. read more
