Sometimes you can feel really stuck in your situation or with your junk. I got a new bed years ago and the old mattresses just turned into a wall in the garage... Until you have to move. I really was on a shirt window and was kinda at a loss. Luckily good ol Google help me out and brought me to 1800GotJunk. I attempted their quote but it just scheduled an appointment instead. So I did have to call in and see the estimate. The guy said around 150-200 in your area. Holy cow. I'm sure this is a normal price but more than I was ready for. Pick up days comes and I get a call from 1800GotJunk to let me know when to expect them (they were 10 mins early - love it!) They also wanted to know what items they were picking up. I explained about the items and how the price may affect the pick up. He said let me call my manager and see what we can do. He called back and gave me a number that worked for me. It meant so much to me that they did this. The drivers show up and it's more of a comedy act. You can tell these two love their job. Thank you for removing my old mattress and box spring. The good: Readily available customer service and quick appointment availability for free quotes. The bad: Waaaaaay too expensive for the services offered. Also, the quotes are far too "open ended". Called to get a quote on roughly 150 square feet of removal of household items from a storage unit. I was quoted anywhere from $750-$1200. Tried a locally owned company for a quote the same day and received an exact quote of $495, nearly half the price of the low side quote. Do your research before you decide to go with this company, you're likely being charged close to double the rate of what other competitors in the area charge for the same job. read more

Anthony and Cameron texted the morning of the pick-up with an ETA. They were 10 min early! They assessed the items for removal, explained the charge (based on volume) and got started. I didnt have my trailer available. I called Got Junk. Were on time, cleaned up alright. Customer service is nonexistant. I request someone contact me. That never happened. Charges are insane. For half a truck load cost was $520. Nothing special content wise, old flooring, carpet and padding. I asked for an itemized statement. That hasn't happened either. I purchased a new couch and was planning on taking advantage of the recycling services bulk pick up that's offered 2 times a year to get rid of my old one. Turns out you're not eligible if the garbage is in your HOAs name (I still pay for garbage through my dues so I was a little pissed, but I digress...). It was suggested that I reach out to Trash Kings and I'm so happy I did. Easily scheduled a pickup online, they were on-time, very efficient, and super friendly. And they make every effort to recycle what they pick up, which I love (my couch barely survived 2 puppies so it was not donateable, unfortunately). Bottom line...if you have a bulky item to get rid of give them a call. It will save you a headache! read more

On Friday, we made a pile of stuff to be hauled away in the garage and by Saturday it was all gone! They arrived on time and gave us a call 10 minutes before their expected arrival time. I had a twin bed mattress to discard and Goodwill had no way to pick it up. It was too big to put in our car and take to them. So I called "Got Junk" in Windsor. They scheduled a two-hour time frame for pick-up the following day, but called back later and said their truck was in our area. Did we want a pick-up that afternoon between 3:30 and 4:30? Yes, we did. Two friendly and professional young men arrived on time and the mattress disappeared while one of them was taking my credit card information. He explained that my payment prohibited any further claim to this "junk." It's a nice touch when a company explains all the ramifications of your actions even if the explanation is not absolutely necessary. I was impressed. I'm giving five stars to the men who picked it up. I've given four to the company because their fees are on the high side--$88 for a mattress. I did know that cost in advance and agreed to it. This would have been a scathing review if the pick-up had been handled irresponsibly, but a good experience is worth something. I'm satisfied that they earned their money. read more

Let me say this first in case you are just scrolling through revews. I would absolutely, 100%, use Got Junk again! After cleaning out my father-in-law's house, we had so much junk, it took up half of the garage. Front to back, and nearly floor to ceiling. We were totally overwhelmed. We set the appointment and Josh kept us posted on their timing. They called 3 times to give us the approximate time of arrival, and they were there exactly when they said they'd be. Josh and Chris were both courteous and professional and didn't bat an eye over our mountain of stuff. They filled the entire truck and even helped sweep up the dust and debris left behind in the garage. I will recommend Got Junk to family and friends and I would use them again without hesitation. This company was fast professional and very responsive. They arrived and told me my small pile of junk would cost either $440 or $500 to haul away. That's why they are fast and professional, they are way overcharging. We needed it gone fast so I agreed. Surprise surprise it ended up being $500. I don't think the dump would charge more than $100 to dump the load; I've done my own dump runs before. So these guys made $400; it took the 2 guys 30 minutes to load the truck; thats $400 per hour for grunt work. Seems like a huge ripoff. Then they said my next dump run would be $10 off; wow a 2% discount; really, you shouldn't have. Only use this service if it is an emergency. You can probably get it done for half the price usi ng someone else. They were able to help me fast because they had a cancellation that morning-- ie. The homeowner said "hell no I'm not paying $500 for that". I bet that happens a lot with their business model. Good luck read more
