We had seen a photobooth used at a wedding in Austin a few years ago, and knew that when we got married we'd want to have one as well - it serves both as a source of entertainment for the guests and a great way to get informal photos. Particularly for a nighttime wedding, on-table disposable cameras which require a flash don't work very well. Initially we were recommended 321Foto, but we were a little concerned about the size of their photobooth and how easy it would be for some of our older guests to get in and out of it. Adam's DJ Service suggested we check out 1000 Words, and we're really happy we did! Their photobooth is a large open space, so it's easy to fit a big group of people into; they give you a shutter button so you can take the picture when you're ready, not when the booth is ready; and with on-site photo printers and a big television to display the photos, the photobooth becomes an instant attraction for your guests! Their photobooth was a resounding success for our wedding, we had our guestbook located next to the photobooth so people could paste in their photo strips and write messages. But I want to call out Mike in particular for being so helpful and accommodating - he helped put my mind at ease early on in our event by helping set up some lighting, and then during the event itself I saw him grabbing people who hadn't been in the photobooth yet, and setting up groups that would make great pictures. 1000 words could not express how happy I was with everything about our Photo Booth experience with Mike and assistant Travis. We were so excited to find this unique combination of "photobooth"/mobile studio, that prints the photos on the spot, but the clincher was the projection! I have worked with Mike on multiple occasions for our corporate holiday parties as well as seen him at other local events at the Tacoma Rainiers. He is always professional, and offers a quick affordable alternative to photo booths (he offers those as well, I believe). We had 1000 Words at our wedding. It's been 2 months and people are still talking about how awesome our photo booth was. 1000 Words is unique in that they don't have an actual booth. The set up a backdrop with a camera which allows you to easily accommodate large group photos. You get the photo clicker so you are in charge of when you take the shot. They came with fun props and everyone got a photostrip of 2-3 photos. They even custom designed a logo for us to put on the photostrips. There is also a screen facing towards the tables and dance floor that shows a slideshow of the photos that have been taken throughout the night. We recently had Mike's photo booth at our wedding. It was the most nicest set up I have ever seen at an event. Our guests loved every second of it. There was a TV with images just taken running that guests could look at while waiting for their turn, as well as instant prints of the photos they could take home with them. We recently used Mike's photo booth at my son's middle school dance. His service was booked in two emails, we got to pick our background from a ton of different options, Mike showed up on time and made the set up seem like a snap of your fingers. This is definitely the coolest way to go for school dance photo's, not your traditional pose, cheese, pick out your photo package. Mike's set up allows for total creative freedom.The best part of course was seeing the kids and staff totally blown away by the photo booth set up. There were at least 30 students, maybe more crowded around Mike and Ty in and out of the photo booth and they handled it beautifully. We opted for just using a brown curtain background which looked fantastic, he would take multiple photos and do redos in case he thought one didn't work out. Mike Abella and his assistant played an integral role in my big day. We hired Mike to capture our wedding day, and he did not disappoint. He and his assistant came to the hotel right on time to shoot pictures of us getting ready. He had a positive attitude the whole time and blended into the festivities well. He made it about us and put us at ease (we are not hams in front of camera, in fact, we're pretty camera-shy) but Mike made everything easy. He drove us around town to the desired photo locations we had picked out (Kerry Park, Seattle Center, and then the venue on Lake Union). It was so nice of him! We had a blast shooting photos around the city, and my now-husband, who does not like long photo shoots, was pleasantly surprised by how painless it was. We had a blast and he got some great pictures on the boat before our ceremony. I'm just as pleased with the photos of the ceremony and dancing. It's wonderful to have all those big moments captured!
