Oh, and if you're looking to blow up 200 balloons for a party that's starting in five hours, this is your place too, which is what I discovered after learning last minute that BHV did not carry helium tanks (even though a call to the shop said they did!). So with the clock ticking and the party time fast approaching, this shop was as life send. The ladies behind the counter seemed experienced at handling bizarre, last-minute requests like mine, and ushered me through the steps of helium balloon blowing with reassuring aplomb. Luckily I had my checkbook with me for the 350E deposit I had to leave on the tank, which they give you a reasonable 4 days to return. I'll definitely be coming back here next time a costume party slips into my agenda or I plan on blowing up an embarrassing number of balloons in an insanely short period of time.

We also ended up with some juggling balls, snap gum, and a toilet seat squirt gun! Cool selection of Karneval/Mardi Gras costumes. They had exactly the model I had in mind (the kind that you could blow smoke out of and that always looked lit) and they were only 50 cents a pop. While I was waiting my turn in line I had the chance to admire the insane selection of party masks, costumes, giant glasses and fake poo and blood and have to say that despite the rather small size of the shop, they really have a great selection. The woman at the counter who helped me was lovely and seemed to have a jolly good time making fun and commenting on some of the ridiculous purchases being made.
