Enjoyed this restaurant so much that my husband and I came back-to-back nights while in Lisbon! From the environment to the warm welcome to the delicious food, I recommend the kabobs here 100%!

Ordered the koobideh, warm eggplant appetizer, lamb and chicken kababs. This may have been the best Persian food I have ever had in my entire life. I almost cried while eating it. Extra body experience for reals. Owners kind and pleasant and whenever I find myself in Lisboa again, 100 percent will be coming back here and bringing everyone I know here. I tried ordering the same dishes in America and it just wasn't the same. 5 stars! Make a reso because it's a busy mom and pop place!

One of the best Persian foods in Europe ! The smell of basmati rice and grilling meat welcomes your senses and greets your appetite . If you are in Lisbon , you should definitely stop by for authentic , delicious and satisfying food. All four in our group enjoyed our meals . We recommend all kabobs and the lamb shank dish. You will not be disappointed ! Here are a few pics! The owner is a delightful man willing to explain the menu and answer any questions !

I've tried a lot of Persian food at my Iranian friend's house, but the food at this restaurant was just terrible. I ordered the Adas Polo and couldn't even swallow it--left it completely untouched on the table, paid the bill, and walked out. read more
A 2 minute walk from where we are staying so we had to try it. The staff who I think were the owners were so nice. We ordered the falafel starter that came with fries. I like their falafel because they were very light. I dou wish it had come with some kind of dip/sauce. My husband got the lamb kebabs and I got the chicken and lamb kebabs. They came with rice, onions, charred tomato and beets. The man was juicy and flavorful. The chicken had a good flavor also. We tried a traditional Iranian drink and an Iranian wine. It's simple food that seems very healthy if you don't eat all the rice. The restaurant itself is well lit, roomy and clean. read more

My daughters and I travel internationally often, and we always look for good Persian restaurants when we arrive. When we arrived in Portugal, we carried on with that tradition. Our first attempt was Khayyam, and we were thoroughly disappointed. What kind of Persian Restaurant does not serve koubiddeh? Seriously? There was a long list of grievances, but we forgot all about them when we arrived at 1001 Nights. The smell, absent on our last attempt, was the first sign that we were in the right place. My daughter and I settled into a great meal where the koubiddeh and rice were well up to our standards. Nothing was wasted and the staff was great. If you are looking for a great Persian meal in Lisbon, don't be distracted by the name of a great Persian poet. Go to 1001 Nights and be satisfied.... read more

From the moment we entered we were treated as valued guests. The menu (in Portuguese and English ) offers a variety of Iranian dishes both with meat and vegetarian offerings. We ordered a large meal consisting of 3 different kebabs, jasmine rice and lightly charred tomatoes Thr chick, lamb and ground lamb/veal were juicy and tender. The rice was light and fluffy and the tomatoes were perfectly charred on the skin and cooked through but not mushy. The portions were enough for two to share with enough to take home for my lunch tomorrow. read more

When I walked by the restaurant was empty, I almost kept walking, I'm glad I went in though. This place is a bit off the beaten path, indeed I passed it twice looking for it. The staff was extremely nice. I don't read Portuguese, but the menu was easy to navigate. Now, for the important part, the food was really good! I had chicken, which was beautifully spiced, the portion was generous. The prices were very reasonable. As to it being empty when I arrived, I think I just came early. By the time I left every table was full. I'd absolutely eat here again if I were in Lisbon. read more

The lady was not acting professional and not even come to our table asking if everything is ok? Acting like she did not even want to give the service!! I was shocked since customer service is the most important part of restaurant business, atleast in USA, and the food was not such a big deal either!! read more

Do Not Go Here! I travel the world and seek out Persian food from time to time. I can say with 100% certainty, this is the worst Persian food I have ever had! The food was horrible, the Service was terrible and the overall experience was disappointing. 0 Stars out of 5 Stars. The Server even sneezed into her hand. Finally, The meat was not fit for human consumption. See picture. read more

The food was very good! A great get-away from all the seafood in Lisbon. The meat, especially the chenjeh and chicken kabob, was amazing! It was seasoned very well, cooked to perfection, and clean. Nothing extra and complicated to it! My family and I really enjoyed it here: the subtle atmosphere and friendly aura really makes the restaurant feel like you're at a friends house, maybe even home. Definitely recommend going here :) read more
