This was the original location which expand and upgrade their decors. Beef rolls is their well known dish. Along with the green chopped jalapeño and cilantro sauce that goes well with any dish on the menu. They do not take credit card unless it is over $50. I had just came back from Taiwan and was craving beef noodle soup, so I was really hoping this place would be my new go to spot to reminisce on my Asia trip. I ordered and was waiting for my food within the first few minutes. If you come here with a group, I feel like it's pretty easy to clear that amount. I ended up ordering the bok choy and pork dumplings along with the beef noodle soup with the hand cut / torn noodles. I went here for the first time a while back and I got their beef noodle soup, beef rolls and their xiao long bao. Their beef noodle soups were really good and with the hand made noodles, it had a nice bouncy and had a good bite to each noodle. Personally has made it to the top of my noodles list. Their beef rolls could really use some work. It was good but I feel like the exterior needed some extra flavor. Adding their chili oil really saved the beef rolls. The XLB was also not that great but they're more well known for their noodles. I also tried my friends sour soup which I might try next time. However, parking is still available around the side of the front is full. We found out they make a chicken roll (ji ro Juen bin) as well as the standard beef roll (niu ro Juen bin). That is what we came for on our last visit. The chicken roll is just as good as the beef roll in our opinion. The flavor is a little different from beef, but it was still good. Their roll style still different from how others make it, but is good. Others make the roll a little better, but not many people make a chicken roll. Still theirs is good. They gave 8 pieces. We only dined in the first time we came and the service was good enough. It was busy, but average noise level. We usually get take out since then like on our current visit. They were pretty busy this time and it took them 20 min just to make the roll--only item in our order. However, the level of business did not justify the prep time for this dish. I had an early dinner at 101 Noodle Express on a Monday night and it was pretty quiet with just a couple other parties in the restaurant. Service was pretty fast and the food was great. It all tasted fresh and the flavors were balanced. My group ordered the boiled chicken dumplings, fried veggie dumplings, stir fried vegetables, scallion pancakes, beef rolls, and pineapple fried rice. I think the stir fried vegetables might be different seasonal veggies; we got stir fries baby bok choy with fresh garlic. I've been here multiple times and 101 noodle express is one of my all time favorite spots for beef pancake rolls. The sauce is sweet and delicious with a generous amount of beef. The pancake is crispy when eaten fresh but gets soggy when taken to go. I especially love it with their chili sauce!
