Below is the email I sent to the radio station WXRX out of Rockford, after I heard their commentators go on at length about how women belonged in the kitchen with an apron on. As a young professional with a degree who provides for her household, I encourage you to boycott their station and any events they might have. Shame, shame on you. "Dear WXRX, I was truly disappointed Tuesday night while I was driving home, listening to your station as I usually do. Your commentators came on and during somewhat of a commercial segment, discussed Kim Davis (and though I agreed with their comments about her and I myself am outraged by her blatant disregard for her office), but then went on to allude that, forgive me I'm paraphrasing, all women should stay in the kitchen with an apron, and on and on, etcetera. It's two-thousand-fucking-fifteen. To say such an ignorant, bigoted, blanket statement is downright disgusting. I'm twenty-five years old with a decent job that I have a degree for; a "young professional" with disposable income in one of the most coveted age categories. I drive up to ten hours a day tuning in to your station, where I bust my ass in a male-dominated field. I do not want to hear about how I should stay the fuck home and make sandwiches. Though it may be a petty joke for your commentators, ladies like me who have to work extra hard because of the ridiculous opinions of assholes like your employees don't find it particularly funny. Obviously you've lost a listener, and I will do my very best to encourage those around me to boycott your station and any events you support. Oh hey!
