I decided to try 12k based on all the positive reviews and late closing. 12k is without a doubt the best place I have ever gone for a haircut. Not only did Ryan, the owner, make room for me without an appointment, he took the time to cut my hair right. That's right, he didn't cut any corners. And on top of the best haircut, he gave me tips on where to find the best restaurants, and took the time to write them all down for me. I've been going to 12k for a few months now and I love Crystal! She's experienced, does a great job with my colour (cut as well) and I'm not there for endless amounts of time like some salons! I don't like wasting 4 hours of my day sitting in a salon. Crystal is efficient, sweet and knows what she's doing! My 14 year old son goes to her now too as she's also really good at men's cuts! I had my haircut today for the first time by Gracie. Quite possibly the best haircut I've ever received. 10/10

I went here in spring 2021. No one was wearing masks. The woman cutting my hair kept telling me I could take my mask off and was making me feel very uncomfortable with my choice to keep it on. She cut my hair dry, which as someone with straight hair, it messed up the quality of my cut. I moved to Auburn a little less than a year ago and cannot believe how lucky I was to stumble upon Sara R at 12K salon. I typically like my hair styled very short i.e. pixie or alternative styles and it is not always easy to find a stylist who can understand what I am looking for in terms of my style, but Sara has seriously never once sent me out of the salon with a haircut I didn't love! She is extremely through as well as communicative with me about what I like or what look I am trying to achieve and even teaches me how I can style and what products to use. As someone who is still learning about style and products it means a lot to have stylist who not only wants me to feel good leaving the salon but wants me to feel good every day by teaching me what is best for my hair and style. Basically, Sara is a gem and I cannot recommend her services enough! read more

Scheduling was easy and completely online, prices were not outrageous and well worth it. This makes 4 salons that I have followed Ryan to over 7 years. I live in Columbus but make the trip about every 8 weeks to see him. He just opened the salon and it is beautiful. He hasn't done my color here yet but I stopped in while eating in Auburn and to see the place-He insisted I test out the chairs and the shampoo chairs-VERY COMFY! He has online booking now and it was really simple. (He stood right beside me while we booked it together). This is the nicest salon I've been to. He just did Auburn a huge favor!! Great hair salon. The staff are really friendly. Would highly recommend this place for anyone needing a haircut. Only problem for me is the parking. My appointment got canceled and they counted me as a no show because I had to drive around the block 3 times to find a parking spot. There are many places to park, but not all of them are accessible or open to anyone. read more

Best haircut I've ever had! Even beats my barber I went to for years back home. The stylists here are so real. They'll offer you something to drink while you wait. My friend went to Lis Kornaros at 12k salon asking for a blonde balayage and money piece and came back with orange hair. When she asked Lis how to fix the brassy pieces of her hair she said to wash her hair, which she did, only leaving her hair more orange and even parts of her hair had red undertones. After calling the salon again asking to come in and get her hair fixed, she returned with dark brown hair with orange money pieces and had to pay $50 for "product". Not to mention when she called to ask to get it redone the receptionist assured her there would be no cost and it would be free. Attached are before and after pictures. Don't ever go to Lis if you want blonde hair, it will turn orange, red, and dark brown. The first photo attached is what she first came in with, a normal blonde balayage. The next picture is what Lis did the first time after getting it done, claiming she was a honey blonde on her instagram? Then the last photo is what my friend ended up with. Dark brown with red undertones. Which is also darker than her natural hair color. read more
