Baked Brie with Crostini & Jam
Carol C.

My cousin & I treated ourselves to a special Newport Restaurant Week dinner at 15 Point Restaurant last night. For $45 each, we got a delicious 3-course dinner. Our reservation was early enough that we were able to enjoy the gorgeous water views for a little while before the sun set completely. Both the food and service were superb. We each ordered a glass of wine (Relax Riesling for me). We were first served warm, crusty bread and olive oil with roasted garlic cloves. Our appetizers arrived shortly thereafter; we had both ordered the phyllo wrapped baked Brie served with crostini and a dollop of jam. So good and such a large portion that we each brought half home. Again, we each ordered the same for our entrees: a baked half lobster with seafood stuffing, served with a baked sweet potato and asparagus. Despite the amount of food it was so delectable we finished all of it. Dessert was where we differed. My cousin had the Key Lime pie; I had the Beignets, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. They weren't true Beignets, more like small cinnamon sugar donuts, but absolutely yummy. Needless to say, we left the restaurant totally sated. We're looking forward to returning in the summer so we can enjoy a meal on their patio overlooking the water. Highly recommended!

Service, entrees, dessert, vibe...this place has it all. Just polished off an amazing dinner that hit the spot after driving for a few days up from Florida. This was just what we needed. Highly recommend. I had the baked stuffed shrimp which was so yummy! My mom had a delicious swordfish which was spicy but absolutely tongue-ticklingly perfect. My husband devoured the farm and sea which was truly the best of both worlds. The show stopper however was the pecan crusted salmon. The curry sauce was unexpected, but so so so good! Will definitely come back the next time we are in town!

I agree with other reviews that this place is good but not quite all the way there yet. First, if you want steak, definitely go with the prime rib as the most bang for your buck. Almost every table we passed, someone was sawing away at a gigantic slab of meat. Second, the beautiful location right off the water is quite the draw. We came in right on the tail-end of a random summer thunderstorm and got a table in the upstairs area, which wasn't bad, but the patio would've been nicer. Third, the food was a little uneven. The bread basket at the start was actually the highlight of the meal. I love that it came super warm, with a stellar garlic/olive oil dip. My parents and I could have eaten two more rounds of that. My dad's chicken nanaquacket was the surprise stand-out: it tasted like an interesting twist on Thanksgiving dinner, with lingonberry sauce, chopped walnuts, and apple brandy sauce. My only nit is that the presentation looked a tad sloppy (see picture of how it looked when it got to the table). Wish the menu contained more salad options than a caprese (which was all right, the tomatoes did not taste fresh for being the height of summer). Also, the amount of gazpacho was on the stingy side for $6, it came in a cup and was a few mouthfuls. My scallops were cooked well, though instead of the sweet potato option, the previous iteration of risotto would've been a better carb. The service lagged a bit, which I can understand for Saturday night in prime season, but towards the end, it got to be the where's-our-waitress game. There was a lull between our appetizers and the entrees, and then again with getting our check and paying. If you're not in any rush (and if you don't hose down your food like yours truly), this is a nice place to sit and chat without anyone trying to rush you out.

Never fails! Always a delicious meal! We called ahead for outdoor water view reservations, it couldn't have been more perfect. The food is always delicious, the ambience is phenomenal and the customer service is top notch! I had the Chicken Nanaquaket - Sautéed breast of chicken with apples, julienne of celery, lingonberries, chopped walnuts & apple brandy butter served with mashed potatoes and butternut squash. Omg. Soooo delish!

Baked Stuffed Shrimp

15 Point Rd is probably one of the most "Rhode Island" restaurants there is. A great location, right on the water, with friendly staff and a menu full of delicious options; it is always a five star experience! We got to sit on the deck this past visit and enjoyed the sunset while sipping local wine and a delicious meal. I went with the baked stuffed shrimp, which was delicious. But I have yet to ever have a bad meal, or bad view here, so you just can't go wrong with anything you choose!

Steak Diane

Great local restaurant with friendly staff and pretty views. Pricing is very reasonable. Food is good but nothing standout. The patio outside is a great place to sit on a nice day. We recently ordered the calamari, steak Diane (x2), surf & turf, lobster bisque, and stuffed cod. The calamari is lightly breaded (which we loved) and served with a unique nut based sauce. The cuts of meat we got were just alright. Both the steak Diane and surf & turf were mostly sauce. The portions are somewhere between small-to-average. We will be back for another try!

Fried Calamari

First off service was great! They were super accommodating and the ambiance is very nice! We went off season (in December) and it's very cozy inside. Drinks were good and our appetizers, calamari and baked Brie, were perfect to share! Everyone liked their main meals- from seafood pasta, to surf & turf, to lobster mac. The only reason I removed a star is because the meat was overcooked for a few of the mains. Also the parking is tough, it's a small lot and so we ended up just parking on the side of the main road where a sign is posted " no parking" but everyone clearly does? Anyways overall we loved it! Would recommend!

I know patè can be liver but I promise that nothing has EVER tasted or looked the way this dish was.

IF YOU WANT TO TRY LIVER WITHOUT KNOWING and/or THE ABSOLUTE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE OF YOUR LIFE... then this is hands down the place FOR YOU PREFACE: A Friend made a reservation for 3 at 8:30pm, Friday 1/5/24. Luckily for her, she backed out at the last hour but modified the res to 2. When suggested at 10:30 that morning, I checked out the menu and to my surprise/excitement Deconstructed Beef Wellington was listed as a special. I was sold. I had been craving beef Wellington for months which very few local spots offer. **DISCLAIMER: I was completely unaware that they closed at 8:30. When I looked over the website, I noticed that they asked for all takeout to be called in by 5pm so I thought this would be a sought after restaurant esp since my friend typically makes great recommendations. We arrived at 8:34 and the hostess kindly greeted us and said to disregard the message she left. As she seated us, I explained a friend had made the res and backed out at the last minute and apologized for being a couple minutes late. She said no worries. There were probably 5-7 tables seated at this point. Our waitress greeted us about 4 minutes later. I put in an app & drinks, the Lemon Thai Grilled Shrimp, and 2 martinis. When she returned with the drinks we put in 2 orders of Deconstructed Beef Wellington, medium and medium-rare. A food runner served our entrees. My friend's was undercooked so he opted to send it back about 10 mins later when our waitress returned to check on us. I felt there was no salvaging my dish so just kept my mouth shut and attempted to dissect and discern what was on my plate. It was at this point that I revisited the menu to see the exact description of the entree and noticed we were the only table left, so I checked the hours and realized they closed at 8:30p. I had no idea and felt terrible not knowing. About 8 minutes later, I believe a food runner returned with the reheated dish without any further conversation. I took 1 bite of my 'filet mignon' which was actually 2 USDA skirt steaks. I then reluctantly tried a bite of the mushroom with the biscuit but could not stomach the sour taste of the mushroom and was unable to swallow with of these bites. When she finally resurfaced, I was able to get her attention and asked to wrap my untouched meal. We both could have complained about our meals but it simply wasn't worth our energy. As she took my plate from the table she made a remark that I was going to have a lot of food to eat tomorrow. I politely smiled knowing I was just bringing this science experiment home to further inspect. She then giggled and asked how I like the liver pate, adding 'most people don't know that liver is in beef Wellington and that's what makes it beef Wellington.' She proceeded to belly laugh the entire way to the kitchen to wrap my meal. I could not help but laugh along with her as I waited for the camera crews for Punk'd to reveal themselves. As I laughed, the deeper and louder her belly laugh got. Without even looking over the bill, I handed her my credit card. The bill for this horrendous experience was $124. I did not feel comfortable leaving the tip on the receipt so resorted to cash. The only cash I had was a $1, $20 or $100 bill. Waiting for her to return and make change was not an option. EVERYTHING in me wanted to leave the $1 bill and belly laugh all the way to my car BUT chose to leave the $20. *TO NOTE: I am the first to try different foods. Just 3 days ago I was eating empanadas made in the back of an old pick-up truck in the Dominican Republic. I found absolutely no humor in my waitress hysterically giggling about serving me liver. I have eaten at 100s of restaurants across the globe and this is, without a doubt my ABSOLUTE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER. The waitresses demeanor, attitude and evil belly laugh all the way to the kitchen was the icing on the cake for me. Ambiance- the location on the water has to be the only reason this place has survived.

Prime rib. A gigantic portion.

Ask the Community - 15 Point Rd

Does 15 Point Rd. accommodate large groups?

Not normally. We had a group of 12, and when we made the reservation they let us know they would have to split the group into two groups of 6 with separate servers and deperiate checks.

Do they serve food at the bar?

Yes, full menu available at the bar :)

This is the first time in years we've been kicked out of one. We drove there from Boston today for the first time, and heard great things about the place and the farmers' market. As we entered the gate, a banner with a picture of dogs was displayed. We drove on the grass and parked at the rear of the farmers' market. We unloaded our dogs. As we walked through the rear corner of the market, the first vendor sold dog treats and toys. We were browsing around, I was minding the dogs while my wife was looking at vegetables. The owner came over and was very rude and condescending, telling me they do not allow dogs, and proceeded to insist that I was a moron for not seeing a sign that said no dogs allowed. However, all I could see was the rear of the sign, and we had not entered the market that way. We promptly left as asked, again, at their place, their rules. I don't have an issue with that; my problem was with the delivery of the message. My wife and I could have sworn that when we looked at the website months ago, we saw that they welcome dogs, but after revisiting the FAQ page, it is clear that they do not. Our apologies for making the mistake.

Unfortunately, I was met with an absolutely atrocious attitude from the young lady who served me today. I asked for two whole filets of Arctic Char from the back cooler instead of the two in the front case. Why? Well, the real answer is that it doesn't matter why...I'm the customer paying nearly $60 for fish and if that's what I want, then the correct answer is a smile and a "no problem, let me go get that for you!" Instead, what I got was a look of utter contempt and an "I mean, what's the difference?" sarcastic reply with one palm raised up to emphasize just how ridiculous my request was. When she returned with the fish, I said "just FYI, all that should matter is that I'm the customer (paying top dollar for a premium product), maybe I'm just a bit OCD." Her response, again with that famous Gen-Z contempt, was "I mean, there's no difference, we just brought it (the fish in the case) out, but anyways, I got you your fish." She just didn't get it. The owner overheard everything and chimed in "all of our fish is fresh here, you don't need to worry about that." Yeah, I know that it's a good product, it's why I shop here, but if my unique brain feels better about having it brought out from the back cooler, why should that merit even a drop of bad attitude?! I told the owner, "I just shouldn't have to explain myself," he retorted "you didn't" and I told him "no, actually I did." So basically, I went in looking forward to a nice experience and left feeling really irritated. Sometimes when I'm passing through Westport, I stop by Westport Lobster Company. I always ask for my fish from the back...and all that I ever get is a smile and a "sure, no problem, let me get that for you." I prefer to spend money in my own town, but I'm not going back to this place and neither is my wife...We don't need to be rewarding rudeness with our hard-earned dollars.
