    I have been going to this salon for over a year now. I always book with Emily! She is AMAZING! From her personality to her attention to detail. I have never had anyone cut my hair as good as she does. She loves to joke around and have good conversations, it makes me feel like I am hanging out with a forever friend. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND her!!! Unless you are miserable and don't like to have fun then she won't be your cup of tea.

    I have been coming to 1630 Hair Artisans for over 3 years and am so thankful to have found Logan! She is always able to come up with a sound plan that works for my hair - usually balayage or blonde highlights, and I always leave happy with the results, and have really healthy, happy hair! Despite what some of the other reviews say, you really need to have an honest consultation with your stylist, build a plan on how to get there (which may take a couple appointments), and know that they are literally trying to perform chemistry on your hair - not something that I take lightly nor does Logan!

    I've been going to the same styist in TX since highschool, I'm 44 now and new to the area. My first thought when arriving to WA was, "I'm going to have to cheat on my hairdresser!!" I waited 4 months to muster the nerve. Let me tell you about Christine. She is very calming. She has a great smile and vibe about her! Ask her to tell you the story about the bear! She will listen to your hair request and will make your hair dreams come true!! If you will allow it she will have ideas for your next hair adventure that you probably hadn't thought of, I would suggest you give it a try-- her artist vision is whimsical and fun. I can't wait to sit back in her chair and play a little more with my mohawk-dowap.

    AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I will start by saying that I have had several appointments pre Covid with a stylist who left 1630 for another salon. My experience with her was always great! However I now see why she left. Since she's a lot further away than I'd like to travel I decided to give 1630 another chance, thinking that I would get the same quality service and experience that I was originally given. How very wrong I was. I called to book an appointment early in September and secured a spot for 9/29/21 @ 1pm. When speaking with the receptionist she asked me what service I would like so I told her a full foil or a full head of highlights. The receptionist proceeded to book me in for a full foil. The day finally came and I reiterated to the stylist that I wanted highlights all over my head and an icy tone. I previously had red in my hair that is in the process of getting highlighted out. I also made this clear to the stylist. The stylist proceeded with the service highlighting and toning my hair. Towards the end of the service she begin to blow dry my hair and I thought she was going to blow it out so it looked nice but she just rough blow dried it. The stylist then stated "I wish I had more time to style your hair." She then ended the service. My hair is naturally curly and when blow dried and not styled it's a poofy mess. I purchased product, paid for the service, tipped and then left. Immediately after getting into my car and looking in the mirror, I noticed my hair did not look the same as it did under the fluorescent lighting in the salon. I tried not to panic when I looked in the mirror but I could tell something was very wrong. I waited until I got home to really inspect my hair and found that she didn't add ANY highlights to the ENTIRE bottom half of my head. Not to mention the highlights she did give me do not go all the way to the root, the highlights are extremely thin and small almost like baby lights, and whatever toner she uses makes the highlights look like gray hair. I called several times the next day (9/30/21) to express my concerns and it wasn't until the 5th time I called throughout the day that the receptionist actually answered. I first asked for an itemized receipt so I could see what exactly I was charged for. I then explained that I was unhappy with my services and why. The receptionist told me that the stylist who did my service was not in but that she would be in the next day. The receptionist stated that she would speak to both the stylist and the owner. She then said she would immediately send over the itemized receipt after we got off of the phone. She did not send the receipt via email AT ALL that day. Not to mention during our conversation she put the phone down without asking me to hold and someone else picked it up and asked if I wanted to book an appointment. That whole situation was very strange. I had to call back on 10/1/21 to inquire about the itemized receipt that was never sent and a follow up on my complaint. She sent the receipt over while I was on the phone and said that the stylist was busy and that she (the stylist) would call me back to follow up. The receptionist ended up calling me back later NOT THE STYLIST telling me that the stylist did perform the full service. During the course of this conversation the receptionist was argumentative and very rude. The stylist NEVER got on the phone to speak with me herself she went through the receptionist to communicate. The receptionist argued several different definitions of a full foil the most bizarre being a single foil that is applied from the root of your hair to the tip of the hair strands. She even stated like it was a fact that the stylist put foils on the entirety of my head. The receptionist told me that they would have to file a customer complaint with the owner. When she had previously told me the owner would be contacted. Obviously they weren't. She then asked me when a good time for the owner to contact me was and I told her ASAP. I asked the receptionist for her name so I could tell the owner who I had been speaking with, the receptionist went silent for a few moments and then said "Why do you need to know my name?" I explained why and she told me I could just tell the owner "it was the receptionist." The receptionist contacted me again today and left me a voicemail saying that they completed the "full foil" and that if I wanted the rest of my hair highlighted I would have to come in and pay for it. I have yet to hear from the owner or the stylist. Below are several photos of my hair. You can see in the photos where the highlights cut completely off. I really hope this review saves someone from making the same mistake I did.

    I went in for a color correction consultation with Emily about a month ago. I dyed my hair at home, black box dye and pink dye; I was aware it was going to be a big job to try to get to it out/to another color. I told her my hair history, and I was feeling pretty good. That went downhill really fast. Emily ran her fingers through my hair then looked at me and said, "Wow. You really f*cked this up didn't you." I laughed uncomfortably, but the lack of professionalism was evident. She then told me she "had no idea what to do" and told me it could be $1,000 to fix my hair. I was expecting an expensive treatment, it was a color correction after all, but $1,000 is outrageous for a stylist who just minutes before told me she didn't know what to do. She was incredibly unprofessional, rude, and made me feel really bad about myself and my hair. I put down a $50 deposit for a color remover booked 3 weeks out. After I left I had a bad feeling about that experience so I asked for a refund on my deposit. Thankfully they were able to get it for me, but I am somewhat shocked that I wasn't put through to a manager or the owner for my complaint. After the consultation I got in my car and cried. Just incredibly unprofessional. I can't speak on their actual services, but based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

After spending two hours extra in the chair sitting twiddling my thumbs, and paying for multiple colorings just to match, three additional hours later I had two wefts installed and a cut Only to find they completely forgot to color and install a whole other weft. I left with the promise we would work together on the coloring and install of the forgotten weft at the time of move up. One week after install, ALL wefts had managed to come unsewn at the initial stitching plain as day when looking at me straight on. After a few weeks due to my work schedule, I called to book an appointment and was declined stating Lexi was unsure that I would be a good fit as their client. I believe this to be due to the fact that myself and three of her stylists all agreed the platinum blonde was not the correct choice. You were called out and then asked to be accountable and yet you've managed to not step up once. way to go Lexi, no wonder you're left having to hire more stylists.

They have an awesome staff and street parking. They do give you parking passes if you have a service (such as coloring) that takes longer than the street allotted time of 2 hrs. The Salon location used to actually be a block down the street and it was large and roomy, I believe a bar now took over the location so now this place is near Chop House Hair Salon and Red Apple. This location is currently closed to COVID, but their Renton location is suppppper nice and BOOMING! I actually love it at the Renton location because it is much closer to home for me and super convenient. I always see Teresa for my hair needs. Like I said previously, I have been seeing her at the Beacon Hill / Seattle location since I was little. She styled my hair for all my middle and high school dances. Gave me my first haircut, perm, highlights, Balayage and the list goes on. Typically, I always need to refresh my balayage and come in for a split end trim. I always get my hair layered bc its super thick and heavy. Teresa always knows exactly what to do. If I'm going for something different than my usual, I bring in pictures and that is all she needs! They got snacks, free coffee, tea and other beverages. They got a great selection Oribe & other hair care Products! Love love love it here! This woman has been doing my lashes for a while and they are the fluffiest, most long lasting sets I've gotten. Trust me when I tell you, this retention is ! She's very accommodating as I started to get allergic reactions to the glue she was using, she had other glue types which were hypoallergenic or just better for sensitive peepz. Not only does she do lashes but she also does hair! I've attached some photos of her work on my hair! Pricing is competitive but also depends on the service you are getting. I have so much hair and she got through it without a problem... the fluffy volume lash fills are also at a fair price! The salon is completely new so you will feel completely comfortable and refreshing during your appointment. Not sure if this will change but during my appointments, the salon did not have a receptionist so you contact your artist once you have arrived for your appointment and they will bring you back to their station(s).
