My family and I had just gotten off two separate flights in one day and were beyond exhausted and starving by the time we got closer to St. Augustine. We called ahead from the airport and had our order ready in about 30-40 minutes, which was a relief. However, the girl on the phone couldn't give my mother an exact time on when it'd be ready. Really? Her response was "I don't know" to how long two cheese pizzas would take... whatever. We kept it simple and ordered two large cheese pizzas because we wanted to judge the place based on its core products. The crust was thin but held its structure, and still folded easily in your hand the way a good slice should. The one thing I noted (and basically how all overpriced pizza places are) was that there was no seasoning on the crust at all. We're big fans of Domino's garlic crust, so that was a little disappointing. The sauce had a nice flavor to it, but nothing particularly memorable. I'll be honest though. I can't say for certain how much of our enjoyment was the pizza itself versus the fact that we were starving at that point. You should've heard my mom's comments about "I feel like my stomach is eating itself" lol. My mom gave it 2/5 stars and my brother gave it 3/5, so somewhere in that range feels about right to me. It's also not cheap for what you get, so just keep that in mind going in. That said, if you're nearby and need a straightforward pizza fix, it'll do the job. read more

We are staying at North Beach RV resort and wanted pizza . We wanted take out. They do not deliver but you can call 15 -20 minutes before you want to pickup. Was ready when promised !! Very friendly staff. The restaurant is very small and seems quite popular. We ordered the Caprese with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes , and basil and added meatball. Also asked for a side of Marinara. So I was out with my three littles (all under 5 yo), and wanted to grab lunch. Pizza was the decision for the day. We had a medium cheese pizza and also ordered the American pie. What a great choice. The owner was kind enough to cut the slices smaller for my peeps. They ate the majority of the pie (non crust eaters here). The pie was fresh, hot and delicious. As mentioned in previous reviews, the American pie is a melty cheesy hamburger delight. I had to fight off the littles from eating my Parmesan steak fries! They have highchairs and boosters. A quick weekend getaway before the hectic holidays. I've had the pizza before but wanted a fish sandwich. Checked the menu online and headed over. No wait on a Friday night, but I'm not complaining. We were seated right away, our drink order taken and brought quickly. Our server (can't remember the young gentleman's name), was great. Took our order and refilled drinks promptly. Service was good. Not much conversation. The restaurant itself is definitely a home town, small, decorated by thrifted items including the tables and chairs. I should have gotten pizza. Calamari was beautiful rings, the breading has no flavor so the marinara is a must. I had the Trigger fish special with bacon risotto and a lemon pepper bechamel, and maple Brussels with cherry tomatoes. The server recommended it. The fish was seasoned and cooked to perfection it did not need the sauce as the bacon risotto polarized the flavor of anything else. They put a hamburger with pickles, mustard and onions and bake it in pizza crust. My picture shows the last few bites but it was amazing. The fries were also really good and crisp. I had the ahi tuna app. It came with a sweet soy glaze and pico de gallo. I thought it sounded like a strange combination but the pico de gallo really adds something to the ahi and the glaze. I thought the flavor was unique. I eat a lot of ahi and this had great flavor. Service was great. It seems to be a local favorite. Definitely will go back and try some other things. read more

Go for the pizza, it's good. Wife ordered Shrimp Scampi, tasted bland, pasta blah. I ordered eggplant parm, I know exactly what was wrong with it. Eggplant cut way too thin, hardly breaded if at all. This pizza place was conveniently located about 2 or 3 blocks from Vilano Beach. Conveniently, also, there are signs directing you from the beach towards where this pizza place is located away from the beach. It's a small unassuming place. I walked there to pickup a carry out order, so I only was inside briefly. It looked like just a casual spot to have a beer and a slice/pie. I ordered a plain cheese za and my wife ordered 'my wife's favorite' and after hearing her rave about it, I understand why they gave that pie that funny moniker. She loved it! I enjoyed my plain pizza also. (Pictured) They put on adequate cheese with a nice bake - not overdone or underdone. It's a flavorful cheese blend too. The dough is fairly airy; kind of Neapolitan-esque. It held up well and had good flavor. The sauce was good but nothing I found particularly noteworthy about - not overly tangy, sweet, spicy, etc. It simply complimented the cheese and dough. We also each had a slice of a chocolate chip cake; which was very tasty! They seemed homemade for sure! Overall, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're in the mood for a pizza. Food was prepared as ordered, had plenty of flavor, and ordering/picking up the food was easy - the one gentleman even ran outside to give me one of the slices of cake that we ordered but was left behind. One of the very few restaurants in Vilano Beach. Looks like they are known mainly for their pizza. But they have a burger, wrapped in pizza dough, called American Pie. This is a unique creation. I asked the owner about it and he wanted to combine their pizza and self-proclaimed great burgers. I like the concept as I've never seen it before. So I went with it. It's possible the burger was already cooked as I saw they cook place it in the over, prior to wrapping the dough around it, and it was in there to warm it up. It was already dark. A left over patty perhaps? Not sure. Anyway, fresh dough wrapped the burger, with some mustard, onions and pickles and then placed back into the oven. After cooking, it is then cut in half. And it was steaming. The dough was cooked perfectly. The burger could have used more seasoning. But it was fine. The cheese was melted perfectly. I was pleased as a whole. It came with some fries, which were topped with parm. These were crispy and hot, as well. Oh, and for me, the best part? They had Sam Adams Cherry Wheat in bottles. Probably my favorite beer. I had just had pizza the evening before so I regret to say that I did not order pizza, but my sister ordered the pizza called "My Wife's Favorite" which we found is now actually "My Ex-Wife's Favorite" haha! But good thing they kept it on the menu cause my sister loved it! I went the pasta route with the Carbonara, but I don't like scallops so I asked if I could just go chicken instead. I was a little confused when it arrived with penne noodles and not the typical spaghetti noodles. The penne was slightly over cooked so I ended up not finishing it, but I tried my sisters pizza and had the fried mozzarella so all was well. The outside of the restaurant is spacious and has some outdoor seating. The lights at night make it look pretty cool. The location is just South of the Francis and Mary Usina bridge and very close to the Vilano Beach fishing pier. The night we decided to give the restaurant a try we were torn between what to get because the menu selections were quite diverse for what we thought was just a pizza joint. Our server was very pleasant and made sure to check in on us repeatedly. We went with the Calamari and the fried Mozzarella for appetizers. The Calamari was plentiful but all in perfect hoops almost like onion rings. It was not a highlight of the meal. The texture was soft and almost like imitation Calamari. The fried Mozzarella was good but could of used a dose of seasoning of some kind. The marinara served with both the Calamari and the Mozzarella was delicious and chunky style with fresh onion and tomato. I went with the jumbo fried shrimp and my wife ordered the Stromboli. We were very confused as to why there was a calzone with only vegetables and also a Stromboli listed as stuffed all the way. We inquired and it was explained that the Stromboli is basically what we know as a Calzone. There was a ton of large onions and green bell peppers in the Stromboli and a lot of bread. Over half was picked through by my wife before she left it. My shrimp Dinner had an option of jumbo shrimp with no count or regular shrimp (26-30). I opted for the jumbo. I'll let you decide what you think I should of done by looking at the photo. The shrimp wasn't bad but there was a lot of breading on them and I kept thinking " I'm in Florida shouldn't my jumbo shrimp be bigger?" We really didn't see much of the interior of the restaurant as we were seated quickly in the booth area. Overall we were not impressed and the seasoning was lacking in the breading on everything fried and there was no salt be pepper in site to help add some seasoning. Can't complain on the price as everything in St Augustine is pricey. I would hope the pizza is better and I'm sure some of their other items may be as well. Tried this place first day into our vacation and now our standards are set pretty high for food in the area. I wasn't sure what to expect with the intensely bright blue and purple lights outside, but it was a very casual and laidback restaurant. Service was great and friendly, and the food was excellent. We tried the stuffed meat pizza that comes with marinara on the side. SO GOOD. The marinara has big chunks of tomato - tastes super fresh. The pizza was just absolutely fantastic. This is the kind of pie you eat with fork and knife. My little one got the shrimp and fries and was incredibly happy with it. Definitely worth the visit! My wife heard about this place because of their signature "burger inside of pizza dough," called American Pie. Traditional burger with onions, pickles, mustard and ketchup cooked into a rolled up pizza dough, much like a calzone or Stromboli. I always love getting Stromboli any chance I get and tried theirs here but the American Pie was MUCH BETTER. It was a Sunday night (day before Labor Day and we arrived at 6:30 and waited less than two minutes for a table and the appetizers, which were also amazing (calamari and mozzarella), came so fast. From the outside it doesn't look to inviting, but we are happy we gave it a try and look forward to going back again and trying some others dishes. Inside it is a cozy place, in the room to the left there about 6 tables (which is where we sat), on the right is a small bar with tables as well. We started with a cold beer, a glass of wine and the fried mozzarella. The fried mozzarella was delicious, served on a bed of lettuce which I ate with my entree. The mozzarella was seasoned well, could of been fried just a minute longer to get it more melted. The sauce was on the chunky side which I liked. We ordered the American Pie which is a hamburger wrapped in homemade pizza dough. It was unique and yummy. The fries were steak fries with truffle oil and cheese. Because it was close by where I was staying and needed to find a place where there was a no meat option (pizza), I decided to go here. I got the root beer and cheese pizza -- it was good; kind of the Italian style pizza. The location was seemingly in an odd area -- felt like I was going to a bad neighborhood when you pass Publix. The inside was small, and seems like it was converted into a restaurant from a house basically. Whenever I go alone somewhere to a restaurant, it feels like I'm not "welcomed" by the staff; it's kind of weird, but that was the case here too. Is it me? Is it the staff having a bad day?
