My first visit to this, ostensibly the swankier, side of DCU dining, was like a visit to a film set that's a cross between Hogwarts and Dead Poets Society. It's an old-school dining hall bedecked with leather chairs and sturdy wooden benches that are so wide you might need to shout to your eating companion over the din.
The food is served outside in the entrance hall, and supposedly it is a higher standard than the rest of the campus and aimed to flush lecturers and staff more than broke students. I thought the food was good but not of a hugely higher standard than what is on offer across the courtyard at the main student restaurant, and there is a much smaller choice. I also found it pretty expensive, like up close to €10 range, so if I was on campus full time I wouldn't be eating here every day. But for an occasional visit it is grand. Maybe get your lecturer to take you ;-) read more
