We ate at 1893 about 8 or 9 years ago and thought it was okay, but not worth coming the distance from our house. In those days we walked everywhere and it was a 30 minute walk, so we didn't go back. Since then we acquired bikes and now the bike lanes bring us right to 1893, so we decided to give it another try. I can tell you this: They have had a lot of practice in these years and the results are fantastic. The pizza, in our opinion (and yankee tongues) is the best we've had in Buenos Aires.
Actually, the pizza come "piedra" and "a la parilla." We had the al a parilla. Cracker thin crust.
The ambiance is nice and the service better than average.
