My friend Tom is a funny fellow. He can only go to cafes that serve skimmed milk. Thankfully, 194° Farhenheit (it's the boiling temperature of water in case you were wondering) is one of those places.
194° Farhenheit is a strictly minimalist cafe, or an espresso bar if you prefer, where the idea is not for people to buy one coffee and then spend hours on their wi-fi, but rather grab a coffee on the go. You can even buy a coffee without stepping foot in the cafe, as a window opens out onto the street to serve passers-by in a rush and in need of their coffee fix.
A "pour-over drip-filter technique" is used here. Don't ask me what it means, but it is meant to be all the rage in London at the moment.
Trust Tom, however, to come to a haven of good coffee like this and choose a hot chocolate; with skimmed milk of course. read more
