We had a full 53' truck plus a second box truck worth of belongings and were so pleased everything they packed made it without incident. They clearly have extensive knowledge in how to pack breakables securely. Their professionalism throughout the 3 days was very much appreciated. They treated my home like it was their own. We used Ferree movers for packing an instate move and their storage facility for one year. The move…read morewent well, and the moving staff were nice and respectful. However, when we had our belongings moved out of storage to our next home, trouble began. Items were missing, such as power cords to TVs and frame mounting hardware for our beds. I had to purchase these items. They did have someone come back and put the beds together. When unpacking we found numerous broken items. Some were glued back together such as a bed post and cabinet drawers to our dresser while others were just broken plates and bowls. They didn't do a good job packing our things and were not organized in keeping items together such as the cords and hardware with the furniture. The worse part was the customer service. I have called over 20+ times and sent emails but have not gotten one response. Once we paid for the services all communication ended. I was only looking to be reimbursed for the broken items that they packed and moved. To me, that would be the right thing to do. They should have contacted me to ask how the move went and if we had any issues. I shouldn't have to spend time out of my day to contact them. I understand things can happen during a move, but there is no excuse not to respond to follow up after a move. If you are looking for movers, I don't think you can trust Ferree Movers of Crown Point to do the right thing if something happens to your furniture, appliances, fixtures, etc. I wouldn't use them again in any capacity due to their unprofessional behavior and lack of customer service.

We were doing a move that did not require a moving truck (we were moving between condos in adjacent…read moreproperties), and hired Bara to help move our large/heavy items that we could not move ourselves. Unfortunately, things did not go as well as I had hoped. The movers were delayed in arriving. We have a larger than normal couch, and they attempted to bring it in the front and it did not fit, and in the process significant damage (scuffed, scraped walls, damaged light fixture) was done, as well as wasted time. Other more typical minor damage, however much of that was just from sloppy work. These are things I would not expect from experienced movers. While on-site I negotiated for extra time to finish moving the items that we needed help with, however upon reflection that really only made up for poor decisions on the part of the movers (not bringing the couch in the back, and not labeling dresser drawers and then spending a lot of time to figure out which one goes where). In the end, I will spend more time and almost as much money fixing all the damage as I did for the move. I did contact Lansana after I was fully aware of the extent of all of the issues, and offered what I thought was a fair deal to make things right, but he refused to make any refund at all. On the plus side, Lansana has been responsive to communication and polite in all correspondence. I will say the up-front price was reasonable compared to other movers, but more costly than using hired hourly work. For myself, the mark of a business is what they do when things go wrong, and unfortunately despite all the things that did go well (and we are moved in), I think they missed the mark here.
