It sold to a family that toured it the second day after it was listed and offered $2,500 over listing price! Prior to this, they assisted me in moving to my "forever home" this fall. They helped me decide what items I should move and suggested where to place them for maximum impact. They did some painting and made suggestions on the person that laid flooring and engaged the movers being there during the actual move instructing the movers where to place items. The move was flawless and almost painless! After that they went with us to help select several pieces of furniture and were here two months later when it was delivered. I was very impressed with them when customers approached them at the furniture store and asked them questions. Without hesitation they said what they believed. During the last five years and before these experiences, I had them for three consultations in addition to having them stage three "flippers". With the flippers, they looked at them in their original conditions and made suggestions on what to do to enhance their appearance, flow, and value. They always make economical suggestions and I firmly believe they have saved me more money than what their services have cost. They listen and encourage my input. Review of Meadow Lane, Ames IA…read more Point 1. The home itself is really nice. It's just management. They are extremely picky about the lot. I don't know why it has to look "top-notch" when it's a mobile home park... They expect you to mow the grass every single week, trim the grass on the siding of yours and your neighbor, and stain your deck every so often. If you don't do that within a certain number of days, they'll charge you a pricey fee. Oh and you have to pay for your own equipment. Point 2. There's no storm shelter. So if a tornado comes through, you're dead. My wife literally asked one of the owners if there was a storm shelter... and she was told "no." Then, she asked if there was any close by and the owner said, "I don't know". Basically, you're on your own. They don't care about your endangerment at all, just your money. Point 3. There's no facilities that they own that is equal to the price that you pay for lot rent (which goes up every year). No swimming pool, no community center, no parking spots, and not even a playground for families with children. Where does all that extra money go to I wonder? Point 4. If you're planning to move out. You need the new buyers to be approved by management before they can buy the home from you. Why you ask? I have no idea. They don't offer a reason. In fact, we used to live right next to a neighbor that uses illegal drugs... but I guess "approval" is necessary since they don't want just anyone living in these homes. Another odd thing is that they require you to fix up the outside of the home before any new buyers move in. So, if the previous buyers did not have have a skirt for the deck, you the current buyer (who's planning to move out) must have a skirt for the deck before a sale to happen. I would complain but they don't have email services! Final Point. Flummerfelt doesn't even use EMAIL communication or ELECTRONIC payment! They are so far behind the housing industry that they require paper checks as the only form of payment (not even cash!). If you are on the management team and reading this, please update your entire system.

Management seems to be active in daily function of the property and enforcing rules, and engaging with the residents.
