For my first tattoo, I spent quite a bit of time searching Yelp, Google, and asking friends what their recommendations were. I knew that I wanted a fine line tattoo of an owl holding an orange, and I wanted the artist to take my thoughts and bring their own creativity and artistry to it. I eventually found Brianna at 27 through Instagram, who made the process easy by using your consultation to learn more about me, how I dress to match my style, and what I wanted from the tattoo. I could not have been more impressed when I came back for the first session and saw that the image I had provided made by chatgpt had been transformed into something that I will cherish forever! Brianna was also almost exact on her quote for the amount of hours it would take and price. The studio itself is very clean and many individual rooms, so it felt private and comfortable. I was a bit nervous because I have vasovagal reactions to needles, but Brianna was prepared made sure I was good when we started both sessions. Brianna went over the top to make sure I had some tattoo balm to take home after the first session since I only had products that would have damaged the tattoo. Since my last review I've added a new tattoo from Gen! This was during COVID and I just wanted to add their protocols are top notch. You wear a mask the entire time, as well as everyone inside. They have you sanitize your items when you come in and wash your hands. After that they still give you a small hand sanitizer to make sure your hands are still as clean as possible. I booked a session in advance a few months ago with Apryl and finally had my appointment. Apryl's shop is immaculate and I felt very safe and comfortable due to how clean it was. The layout of the shop is really cool, it's 3 stories high and each floor has space for a tattoo artist (so it makes social distancing easy). Apryl presented her sketch to me and it was exactly what I had pictured in my head, she really listened and understood what I wanted. I am extremely happy with how the tattoo turned out. This was my first ever tattoo and Brianna was INCREDIBLE throughout the whole process! She was so patient and understanding as we email ahead of time planning out what the tattoo would look like (simple script text quote), and when I showed up for my appointment time she had the stencil ready to go. She even took the time to google each individual word in the quote to make sure we had everything spelled right :) The shop does a great job (as far as I can tell) with COVID and sanitation protocols. They have you wipe down all of your belongings that you're taking in with you, everyone wears masks the whole time, there's plenty of hand sanitizer and alcohol wipe downs, etc. I expressed that I often would get faint when I've had my blood drawn or gotten shots, so I was nervous about the tattooing needle, but Brianna let me lie down the whole time and told me to let her know if I started feeling faint. I brought headphones and so I just listened to something on my phone with my eyes closed the whole time and had no issues getting through it. She was incredibly thorough and detailed with aftercare procedures and what I should/shouldn't do. At no point did I feel like I was listening to somebody just rattling off a spiel they'd said a hundred times before (although I'm sure she has) or was trying to rush me out of the studio to get to the next client. I recently got my very first tattoo done in August at 27 Tattoo by a worker who is thankfully no longer there. Long story short, she was not very welcoming compared to everyone else I met at the shop & seemed to be rushing during the whole process which ultimately left me with a bad tattoo. (Not 27 tattoo's fault at all!) When she showed me the sketch of the tattoo, it was not shaded in so I had no idea the lions mane would be completely black until AFTER she added the ink, which looked very very harsh on my fair skin. I discussed this with Apryl and she told me she had no problem doing whatever I needed to be happy with the tattoo and she did an amazing job! Apryl was amazing and let me know exactly what she was adding BEFORE she added it, unlike the first artist did. Apryl was also very nice and made the whole experience much more friendly and welcoming. Do not hesitate to go to 27 Tattoo! The artist who initially did my tattoo is no longer at the studio due to the way she was treating clients and also overcharging them, so no need to worry! They only have friendly, wonderful artists now :) also I do not believe what happened was 27 Tattoo's fault at all, they did not know until after the fact. I absolutely loved the kindness, understanding and the willingness to fix the tattoo to make me happy with it, which is amazing now! Apryl did an absolutely stunning job touching up and adding color where needed on the tattoo, it looks like a whole new piece! First and foremost, Anthony is easily one of if not the best tattooer in AZ... if you're on the fence for any reason the wait and cost is 100000% worth it. Anyways, In March 2016 Anthony graciously agreed to and started working on my full back piece (nape to bottom). I'm pretty laid back in the sense that I trust tattooer when they say something will or won't work/look how I want-I'm an artist myself so when I get tattooed I try to let the artist have creative control, and was not disappointed in the slightest with how it progressed and turned out! Anthony would show me different patterns, sketches and positioning to choose from and patiently and professionally helped me decide. Additionally whenever I wanted something specific added Anthony always found a way to incorporate my vision with his! Lastly, Anthony and all employees are super professional and easy to talk to, I've been to plenty of shops where the tattooers are often yelling across the room to each other or making jokes, which is fine i just prefer my artists to give me their full attention while tattooing something permanent on my body, and anytime my body was exposed(to be tattooed) Anthony would offer a more private room . and the shop is so clean and modern, I've never been to a shop cooler than 27 TBH! My experience with 27 Tattoo Studio has been extremely positive from the start. I have had two tattoos by Anthony one of which was earlier this year. What drew me to Anthony's work was his mandala and geometric designs. I felt they aligned with what I was looking for in my future tattoos. The whole process was very professional. Most of those 18 years had been spent trying to find the perfect tattoo, one with deep meaning. Where to start... I've been getting tattooed by Apryl Triana for over three years now. I've spent probably more than 20+ hours with Apryl and not only has she delivered to my expectations, she takes on a consultative approach and really strives to create unique pieces of art custom to your ideas and wants. Apryl is extremely talented in her artwork, including her tattooing technique. People sometimes don't realize that there's a specific technique to quality tattoo work. The depth of the needle to knowing when the skin is too puffy to absorb more ink properly. Apryl has this mastered and knows how deep to push the needle as well as when the skin is too irritated to accept more ink. For those that don't know, if your skin becomes too irritated, the ink will not absorb into then skin properly thus diminishing the quality of the tattoo. In specific to Anthony, I've been craving to get a tattoo of his style on my skin. He's also extremely talented in the work he produces and takes his time to ensure the end result is magnificent.
