Awful. I took 300 DVDs and a ton of books. They were all in great shape. Some weren't even opened and none of the books had been read. They kept 225 and most of the books and gave me $64.18. Ridiculous considering they will sell them for at least $15-20 a piece. Never again. read more

When they opened, I gave them a chance and found the staff rude. I went back a month ago and thought things had improved, so I went again last week. When the woman in front of me bought something that cost less than $2.00, she received a complimentary bookmark. When I bought a book on the occult that cost more than $15.00, the clerk glared at me, didn't offer me a bookmark, but made a snarky, "Be careful!" quip as I left the store. When I filed a complaint through the company's website (for the record, I'm an initiated ritual magician with 30+ years of experience--one book won't make a dent in my life) the store manager called to explain to me how I had it wrong, the clerk didn't mean it THAT way, and then laughed as she said, "Well, come down here and I'll set aside your very own bookmark just for you!" I went back and returned the book. That is the last time I'll ever do business with 2nd & Charles. So rude--so very rude and they just want to make excuses instead of understanding their salaries come from customer purchases. read more

I go in here a lot and staff is great, they have great stuff that can be found for any price range. Some used and cheaper and some more expensive, but I love this store. Seems like the only people who review here have something bad to say but I'm in there all the time and the only "bad" thing I had happen was the check out person was very talkative and friendly and I'm shy. I always have a great experience here. The staff is very friendly, but not too pushy. They let you look without disturbing you. I wish the used manga selection was larger, but that's not really on the staff. I've traded in books and got almost $30 in store credit. I visit this location at least once a week and I've yet to have a bad experience. read more

Completely disorganized. Staff rude, unhelpful, and unresponsive. Staff is insistent on making excuses instead of owning and correcting problems. Store has gone from an absolute 5 star experience to utter rubbish. read more
