House Proud is a tiny housewares shop next door to Pizza Hut in North Heath. It sells a small range…read moreof items from cleaning goods and storage solutions to little gifts such as ornaments, picture frames and clocks. It is a good little shop with a wholesome and local vibe. I love a good thrift shop and this one doesn't disappoint. There is competition in the area in the form of Discount City down the road which edges it because of its size and ability to hold more stock but this one is a good one to check out. The goods aren't the greatest quality but you get value for money and the items do the job which you bought them for. The shop is close to the Mill Road car park and if you happen be in the area or live locally it is worth popping into. Not one to travel to North Heath specifically for. Also not one for the kids as the shop is small and there is plenty for them to knock off the shelf and break.

Have just been to this Garden Centre and had a really happy couple of hours. I have been before but…read morenot for years and as we were passing saw that they had now opened a Coffee Shop so in we went. We were greeted at the door by a friendly member of staff who pointed us in the right direction. Coffee area is only small but lovely home made cakes & sandwiches. There Christmas area is on different levels and totally inspiring with imaginative displays that you just want to copy. A very wide selection of unusual gifts and books, as well as some different gardening gifts. In addition there were some really good offers. We spent far too long there but found some super presents that we are well pleased with. The plant section is vast with experts on hand to advise. They stock everything from Bedding to Perennials to Trees & Shrubs to Fruit & Vegetable plants. There were plenty of happy, friendly staff willing to help and there is a large car park. Entrance is diagonally opposite Pembury Hospital & almost directly opposite the Ramada Hotel. They are open every day. It is the most enjoyable shopping experience we have had in a long time.

They also have good ideas for gifts especially if want to find something a little different. There are selection of food counters and the butcher is very good. We usually stop and have a cup of coffee as there is a lovely airy restaurant.
