Dine-in is available (even though the sign outside says takeout only)! 3 Country Bistro is a small restaurant that offers Japanese, Thai and Korean food, and they do all three cuisines well. We ordered the black dragon maki, Woburn maki, Main Street maki, and Basil Fried Rice and everything was great. I get the Woburn and Main Street every time, however I've always enjoyed every sushi dish. I also recommend the okdol bibimbap or country pad thai (spicy) if you want Thai or Korean instead. Service was great, and our food came in a timely matter. The portion size, quality, and pricing is great too. The restaurant is small so seating is limited with maybe 5-6 tables and sushi bar seating. There is street parking and a parking lot behind the building. The owner/sushi chef Mike is always welcoming and kind, and still remembered me even though I haven't visited in 3+ years since my move. read more

Hidden gem! This place is easy to overlook - a small, dark-faced front on a busy street with an inexplicable sign in the window reading "take out only." And a name evoking France. Inside seems tiny and utilitarian, but the host is warm and welcoming, wide smiles and beckons you to sit wherever you want. The menu is promisingly multi-paged as befits a menu representing three countries (Thailand, Japan, Korea.). The food we've tried was shockingly good: deep flavors, bright fresh veggies, good salt balance, lotsa umami, heat if you want it. Cute touches like rice molded in heart shape. I went here for lunch time and had their spicy pad Thai, tom yum soup, and sushi. They gave big portions for the pad Thai and the Tim yum soup was light and flavorful. The workers are very nice and the restaurant itself is nice and quaint. The only downside is that the restaurant has no AC, not the best when eating on a hot summer day. Still good eats. read more

This is a small cozy place with seating for only about a dozen people. It looks out onto the Woburn center common, so a decent view if you're there in the daytime. Not as good as I had hoped. A group of foodies took me here, 2 of which were from Thailand. We agreed to try the spot based on reviews. PROS: Country Pad Thai was pretty good. The rest of the dishes were not very good. Service was polite. CONS: The gyoza tasted like they came from the frozen section of the supermarket. I didn't find any of the food to offer a mind blowing, authentic Thai experience. Seating is limited. Parking is on the street. This place is fairly small establishment but has a huge menu selection (cuisine from Japan, Thailand and Korea!). I got the beef Pad See You and it was absolutely tasty especially for the price! Many restaurants I've been to charge $2+ for what I got so I was extremely impressed for the high quality and taste of the meal. Everyone at my table enjoyed their meal and our waitress was quick and prompt with drink refills. I ate here the other night with my cousins. They frequent the place and praised their sushi. I ordered the Alaskan maki and the ebi mango maki. Both were incredibly delicious and just the right portions! Parking is right out front on the street. The restaurant itself is small and a very awkward shape. I ordered the sashimi appetizer (3 tuna, 2 salmon, 3 "white fish") and one order (2 pieces) of salmon sushi as takeout. The fish was delicious and fresh - I was thrilled to find a good place in my area since I am very picky when it comes to my sushi and fish. - The pieces of fish in the sashimi appetizer were on the smaller side, but it was an inexpensive appetizer and I'm wondering if the sashimi lunch would have had larger cuts. Regardless, definitely still worth it for the price. - The cuts of salmon were much larger in the sushi. When I walked in to pick it up, the restaurant was cute and cozy and the woman who checked me out was very sweet and attentive. The chef behind the sushi bar gave me a smile as I walked in. I got the impression I'd have a good experience with a sit-down meal here. My only issue (which may be my issue and not one of the restaurant, in looking at the other reviews) was with the rice. I can't say with certainty what was unfamiliar about it, but it either tasted old or like the wrong type of rice... it was definitely sticky, but felt or tasted different than the sushi rice I have at the sushi places I have liked (e.g., Ichigo Ichie in Franklin, MA). Again, I could have incorrect expectations about what sushi rice should taste like (other reviews explicitly mention how good the sushi rice is) or it's possible that this rice I picked up at 3:45 PM on a Tuesday was an off or old batch... either way, I absolutely recommend trying 3 Country Bistro and I'll certainly be going back in the future. read more

I overall was impressed with the food here, since they do boast three different Asian cuisines, you would naturally think some food would be lost in the mix. Overall, all my friends enjoyed their time and food here. After getting a Thai iced tea, which is great here! I ordered the Crispy Pad Thai. This was an interesting dish to say the least. Sometimes I crave pan fried noodles so once I saw this dish on the menu I instantly had a crispy noodle craving! I would say the flavor of the dish is not as strong as typical Pad Thai, but I feel that is more due to the cripsy noodles. However, I still enjoyed this dish as a lighter flavor complemented well with having these type of noodles. I was also able to try some sushi and sashimi which tasted great as well, so Japanese is an option for me to have whenever I get a chance to return! I'm guessing because of the awkward name for an Asian restaurant, there aren't many identifiers that tells me this is another boring gastro-pub. Thanks to Yelp and the amazing reviews written here, I was finally able to find a true "hidden jewel". Earlier this week I was looking for a place to dine for the weekend and sorted my local results by highest rated and this Crème rose to the top. Did I mention they are BYOB? I noticed a wine bottle on the table when I walked in and immediately remembered from someone else's review that it was possible, dratz! It's a short 3 minute walk to the liquor store down the street so we strolled up it for some pino grigio and then headed back to Country Bistro. I didn't notice a corking fee on the bill either, although I could have overlooked it. Although they serve everything from Korean bulgogi to pad thai, we were there for the sushi only. I ordered four maki rolls and my partner in crime ordered three. They ranged from the outstanding soft shelled crab (picture posted) to the "Main St. Maki" which consisted of THREE types of tibeko, panko crumbs and delicate spicy tuna, oh my! The presentation here is killer as well, each plate had an animal cut out of beets and daikon. We had a bunny and turtle on our plates along with a heart made of beets and an arrangement of flowers. The chef here really takes enormous pride in ensuring your experience is a good and pleasant one, he offered himself up to us at the end of the meal, asking if everything was ok and then served us a fresh bowl of mango and watermelon on the house. Don't walk, rrruuunnnn to this odd sounding sushi joint if you're on the north shore, gurantoodled to have a great experience!! read more

Did I miss something? Against my own better judgement I ordered based on the high reviews. I'm so dumbfounded with what I got. I ordered shrimp and salmon teriyaki with rice. It looks like I did a speed run at Walmart for ingredients. My favorite part of the meal was my Japanese salad. Which also appeared to be pre cut salad mix with a delightful dressing. Sweet Christ. UPDATED REVIEW of my experience on 11/29: I came here with my fiance and future in-laws on a Friday night at 6:00pm. The place wasn't crowded (I discovered they mainly do take-out orders), but the restaurant was cozy and clean, as always. This continues to be my favorite little restaurant to visit, but there have been some changes recently to the menu and prices. For those that are loyal customers like myself, this won't make you change your mind about continuing to go. They upgraded their utensils/dishes/etc and re-vamped their menu with new prices by about $1-2, which now reflect $10-$15 per entree dish (I knew the old prices were just too good to be true)! But even with the increased prices this little restaurant STILL has my business because of the consistent quality and taste in every appetizer, entree, and dessert that they serve. One thing that I would recommend about them is that they need a soda machine so customers can get free refills (like most restaurants do). You pay for the soda and get the can/glass and once you're out, you're out and have to buy another which makes it more expensive than most restaurants. They do make up for this by continuing to be BYOB (no corking fee or anything and they provide the glasses!) Overall, this is still THE spot I love to recommend to friends/family for amazing/authentic Thai, Korean, and Japanese food! read more

We had a wonderful dinner of sushi and Korean food. This is a Thai run restaurant and the staff are friendly and accommodating. They even let us bring our own beer. The sushi was great and we didn't mind that they were American style with South East Asian twist. They were prepared fresh by the sushi chef for us. Our bibimbap and kimchi udon noodles were just comforting with heat but not burning. The Thai iced tea was delicious too. I've had on three separate occasions their take on Korean, Japanese and Thai cuisine. The food is always tasty and fresh. I like their noodle soups - the broths are good. The Country Pad Thai is next level amazing!! This is coming from someone who didn't even really have a preference for Thai food before, just ordered on a whim one night cause someone mentioned at work the prior day. Do yourself a favor and just order something that sounds good to you from this place, you won't be disappointed...and if you order delivery, spoiler alert, my order the other night said 45-55 min and I had it in 25!! Diamond in the rough. First off, I'm not a fan of the name of the restaurant, as it's not immediately evident what type of place it is. Of course, going to yelp, you can quickly see that it's an Asian Fusion of Japanese, Korean & Thai! But the name without context evokes more of a BBQ joint, southern cooking, or something (to me at least!). This place is tiny, and rather unassuming. They seemed much more accustomed to take-out than sit-down, but took very good care of us regardless. Read reviews here before trying them, we started with the Curry Puffs, were were essentially potato/veggie empanadas; they were quite tasty and a nice starter. We split an order of bulgogi & pad thai; both of these were delicious, with perfect portion sizes. Our waitress was very friendly, as she tended to take-out orders as well. Great value! My search for above-average sushi in Woburn stops here. For the longest time, I thought this hidden gem was a fried chicken joint after only catching the words "country bistro" on the window while passing by. No, you won't find any mashed potatoes here, but 3 countries, Japan, Thailand, and Korea are all represented under this one tiny roof. 3 countries, 6 tables, and a sushi bar comprise this little restaurant tucked away in Woburn center. I've tried almost all the sushi offerings available within the city of Woburn (see prior reviews), but haven't truly been impressed until tonight. The food here at 3 Country Bistro is really quite good. This would be a perfect place for date night or perhaps to catch up with a friend over lunch. Take out is available as well. It's BYOB -plan accordingly. The tables are close together so it may not be ideal for private conversation. Our server was pleasant and attentive with a friendly smile. She stopped by our table to top off our water as needed. We began the meal with seaweed salads. This is only the second seaweed salad I have ever eaten in my entire life, but I have discovered they are surprisingly delicious. I am not yet a seaweed expert, but tonight's salad was a larger portion than my first at a nearby restaurant and the seaweed itself was brighter green in color. Hopefully this is helpful information for any seaweed salad regulars out there. The menu is extensive spanning 3 cuisines with a decent selection of items including appetizers, entrees, noodle dishes, sushi, and more. We were here for the sushi tonight. I was impressed with the long list of both Sashimi a la carte and Maki rolls, which made it delightfully difficult to narrow down my choices. After much indecisiveness, I chose the Rainbow Maki and one of my favorites- the Spicy Tuna Roll. The Rainbow Maki was truly a work of art presenting itself in true fashion as a California roll topped with perfectly cut and generously-sized pieces of salmon, tuna, whitefish, and avocado. Almost too pretty to eat, yet I did not hesitate to dig right in. The Tuna roll was nicely decorated with a spicy mayo sauce and a good kick to it. I cannot quite remember the maki rolls my friend chose, but she stated "This is really good," not only once, but twice. One little disappointment tonight was the temperature inside the restaurant. We have been in the middle of a heat wave and today was another scorcher. I was looking forward to air conditioned dining, but when we stepped inside it felt quite warm and stuffy. I'm not sure if they were having troubles with the air conditioning today or if they chose not to turn it up. What can i say.. Another Gem in woburn town. We actually have been here twice and have had good experience. This time we ordered the sweet potato tempura maki roll and it was very nice. For dinner wifey had crazy noodles with tofu and it was quite good. The taste was spicy and sweet and the tofu was made excellently made. I had ordered the Korean Hot pot with chicken (no egg on top). It s dish comes on a hot clay oven pot with rice in the bottom with carrots , zucchini, onions, bean sprouts , sea weed spread around the wall of the pot with chicken in the middle sprinkled with sesame seeds. Also came with two side of different hot sauces and Miso soup. Overall it was really good and i am glad i tried it. All this cost us 28.00 including tax. so the prices are great too. read more

To kick off our four day holiday weekend, my coworker treated me to a nice Asian luncheon in Woburn. She introduced me to 3 Country Bistro on Main Street in the smack of Woburn Center. I've heard of the restaurant and always thought the name was weird, "country" suggests there would be grits and gravy on the menu. Then I realized, that "3 Country" implied that the menu boasts dishes from Thailand, Korea and Japan. Street parking is limited on the busy intersection so we found a spot in the parking lot behind the plaza. The restaurant is cozy with just a few tables in awkward locations tucked in nooks behind doors and curtains. We lucked out and snagged the last table. There were also a few seats at the sushi bar where diners could watch the sushi chef whip up some maki rolls and sashimi. I got her into Thai tea, actually that is the reason why we visited. She was craving Thai Tea from the last time we had it at Cilantro next door over. We both ordered a Thai Tea and still had some left to take back to the office in plastic cups. We tend to over order and that's exactly what we did today. For appetizers, we started off with a couple of eel maki rolls and a spider roll. Complimentary miso soup was also provided with one of the dishes. When we walked into the restaurant, we saw a family eating spicy rice noodles. We were intrigued and wanted to order that and assumed it was called the "crazy" noodles based on the description on the menu. We were wrong, it was wide rice noodles with basil and a light spicy sauce. Nonetheless it was still tasty despite it not being what we thought we ordered. I was excited to see Korean staple offerings on the menu. I had to try the bibimbap. It was perfect. The clay pot heated the rice on the bottom to a nice crisp. There was ample beef bulgogi and toppings. It's definitely a better deal at lunch as the same dish goes up two bucks for dinner. Overall, the restaurant was great. I could see myself being a regular there. Prices were great and service was extremely friendly. The lunch menu is definitely a better deal than dinner. Parking is fine as long as you use the lot in the rear. They also offer delivery!! For 3 maki rolls, 2 entrees and 3 Thai iced teas, the total came under $50.00. The lunch menu is expansive and reasonable. I always worry when Asian restaurants try the Korean/Thai/Japanese mix thing...something always doesn't turn out right. BUT. 3 Country Bistro may be the exception! My friend had amazing sushi and I had a hot stone pot bibimbab that was amazing. We shared some fried gyoza and an avocado salad to start which were both super tasty. The service and atmosphere is cozy and cute.
