This restaurant is truly a hidden gem tucked away in the Oakmore neighborhood and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The ambience is cozy, food is delicious and service is attentive. There was a nice touch all around the restaurant as it was the Saturday before Mother's Day so they had bouquets of flowers and balloons for sale at the front counter and beautiful bouquet vases on each of the tables. We ordered for appetizers the butterfly prawns and potstickers, which were tasty and nice and hot. For entrees, my companions ordered peanut chicken with vegetables, pumpkin curry and Cilantro pork. I decided to go vegan and had tofu with broccoli and carrots. Mine was flavorful with rice. Would come back again to try other entrees.

If they only represent three seasons, which one do they leave out? Inquiring minds want to know. OK, maybe just me. Turns out Thailand doesn't really follow the four seasons. Their seasons are hot, cold, and wet. Just three. Now I would've never tried this quaint Thai spot were it not for my desire to explore Dimond Canyon and Sausal Creek. It wasn't like I worked up that much of an appetite from walking in the subterranean foliage, but it just looked pretty inviting so I ordered some dishes for takeout. The $10.95 Grilled Prawn Salad was a refreshing starter even if they only provided a quartet of prawns along with the red onion, cilantro, tomato, carrot, lettuce, cucumber slices, and lemongrass (photo: https://bit.ly/3qfOjaK). The $9.95 Won Ton Soup was a more satisfying choice simply because they were generous with their marinated pork slices and shrimp-filled dumplings (photo: https://bit.ly/3H55ClC). The entree was probably the least of the dishes, the $10.95 Garlic and Pepper Chicken with Broccoli, just because it was a fairly standard stir-fry (photo: https://bit.ly/3GYh9D4). Three seasons, three dishes. Seems like a fair deal to me. FOOD - 3 stars...solid, kinda tame Thai food with the won ton soup the standout AMBIANCE - 4 stars...the decor is nice inside SERVICE - 3.5 stars...no complaints TOTAL - 3 stars...now I know there are three seasons in Thailand RELATED - Exploring Oakland? A really nice little restaurant tucked off a side street (Leimert), next to Red Boy Pizza

This is a great little Thai restaurant tucked into the Oakmore neighborhood of Oakland. I recently ordered online for pickup from their lunch menu. The lunch menu is very abbreviated from the dinner menu and I am not certain if the dinner menu is available at all times they are open. It isn't clear from the web site. They offer options for meat or veggies/tofu with each item. I ordered the following: Eggplant Delight w/beef Chow Mein w/chicken Spicy Fried Rice/vegetables See Ew Noodles/tofu Overall, everything was delicious and very tasty. Each noodle dish had just the right consistency and texture in the individual noodles and had a nice supply of other ingredients. The eggplant was cooked well and tasty, but I found some of the beef pieces overly chewy. It came with white rice. The fried rice was great, yet not at all spicy. (On the dinner menu you can choose the level it spiciness for each dish). The tofu with the See Ew was tender and well cooked. I will definitely be back to try other dishes. The prices are very reasonable and the portions quite adequate.

    I love extra soft tofu

What can I say ? The first time I drove to this little cute town, I felt I was immediately fall in love with it. I parked my car and saw this beautiful little Thai restaurant I thought, I must come here after work on Friday ! The tall good looking guy who worked in the front was very friendly and helpful. I ordered fresh veggies rolls, coconut soup with tofu and pumpkin curry. I didn't expect the soup and curry served so hot ( temperature hot ) I loved it so so so much ! There is nothing feel better like the hot soup inside my tummy ! Plus, they used silk ( extra soft ) tofu for the soup ! I never had that in any Thai restaurants. It really tasted so much better to use extra soft tofu for the soup. The pumpkin curry got some hot spices, so it even made this dish more delicious. I'm so glad to found this place that so close from my work. I really don't mind to eat there alone. I feel very comfortable and happy. The guy told me to sit wherever I want since they just opened ( 4 pm ) no one was there yet. I have always liked the bigger table even I'm eating alone. What can I say ? Today is Friday ! And I had the best meal of the week here ! I love love love everything here ! I want to come back with my daughter someday soon.

We all split all the specialty cocktails and I got the Khao Pad Kang Kiew (rice with eggplant and chicken topped with a fried egg). Dishes are $20-23 ish each. We were seated at the 6 person table in the back of the restaurant near the bathroom. My favorite drinks were their take on a hard thai iced tea, the lavender mojito, a take on an espresso martini. There was also this spicy drink that had thai chilis in it that is VERY spicy lol. Pros: - the rice dish was DELICIOUS and also huge haha. Came with cucumbers to cut the peppery flavor if needed. - All the cocktails were pretty different and it was fun to try all of them. They were all beautiful to look at and tasty (lots of coconut and Thai inspiration). - Service was pretty good - Has "typical" thai dishes like pad thai and pad see ew, and also more rare ones that are hard to find - Close to many bars and other establishments, so perfect if you want to eat here as a first, second, or third location of your outing haha Cons: - The air flow in the back wasn't amazing so I did feel like it got stuffy/hot - Parking can be tough in this area so I recommend BARTing Another reason to love Oakland!

Unfortunately it was too spicy for my liking and some of the white rice was burnt from the being at the bottom of the pot. There was only 8 eggplant pieces in the entire dish and surprisingly a lot more chicken. So depending on your preference this may be a good thing! I was really craving the sweet, earthy flavor of eggplant so while lots of protein was greatly appreciated I did wish there was more eggplant in the dish. Either way it was a good portion of food so they don't skimp here for sure! The service was friendly and super attentive the moment you walk in. I'd be willing to try another non spicy dish here.

The staff is consistently so kind and welcoming, which makes the experience even better every time. Truly, there isn't a single bad item on the menu. They do an amazing job offering more unique Laotian dishes alongside classic Thai favorites. Some personal standouts are the kor moo yang (grilled pork jowl), grilled beef short rib, mok pa (steamed catfish), and the Lao-style papaya salad -- which is perfectly spicy and packed with flavor. Portions are generous and incredibly filling, and everything is so flavorful and delicious. Even when ordered for delivery, the food arrives fresh and holds up beautifully. Rose Garden is a total gem and I cannot recommend them enough.

But it was not full throughout the time we were at the restaurants. Experience: Food came out pretty fast and it was hot(!). Overall, service was good and they checked in on us a few times to make sure all is good. Food: - Nam Khao was fantastic. Crispy rice, the mixed minced vegetables, and the cooked sausage. Together with the lime that you can squeeze to preference, it was delicious! Haven't had Nam Khao this delicious in a while! - Pad See Ew with pork was alright. It was cooked well and a little on the sweeter side rather than savory, but missing the smoky flavor "wok hei" that would take this to the next level that I love. - Fried Sweet Fish was alright too. Fish is fried with a very thin batter but it had black pepper which my kids doesn't want as they're sensitive to anything spicy. The fish had a light fishy taste to it (fresh water fish) which would be better if they even use a little ginger to cut the fishy taste for a better taste. - Guay Tiew is very similar to Pad See Ew with the exception that it had a fried egg on the top and had seafood (shrimp and squid). - Vientiane Crispy Roll is different from regular egg rolls. Made with rice paper roll so it was crispy but also chewy, which is different and may not be what everyone is used to. Will return to try out other dishes.

Between our group, we got Sakoo, Nam Khao, Fried Clear Rice Roll Wraps, Sai Oua (Lao Sausages), Crispy Pork Belly, Pad Kee Mao, and a large side of Sticky Rice. Of the dishes, the Nam Khao was a standout favorite for me. I loved how crispy and crunchy the fried rice was in the dish. There were so many layers of flavors and textures from the fish sauce, the peanuts, and the fermented sour pork. If there's one dish you must order when you stop by here, it's this one. Another dish I really enjoyed was the Sai Oua; I get this dish whenever I see it at restaurants. Although I've had Lao sausages which were very heavy in lemongrass flavor, the ones here did not have the same flavor profile. Instead, the ones here leaned more towards the spicy side. The crispy pork belly was another standout dish for me. If you enjoy Filipino lechon or Cantonese siu yuk, this is another must-order dish. The pork is well seasoned and has the perfect ratio of lean to fatty parts. Overall, I had wonderfully delicious meal. I would certainly recommend coming as a large group so you're able to order a wide variety of dishes. If you're looking for something to really excite your taste buds, head over to Bhan Mae Vane.

This is our go-to Restaurant, this year for Thanksgiving & Christmas both. Friends who joined us were impressed with the food & were very interested to know the name & location of this restaurant. Now my In-Laws like to order Take Out more often, and they always want to order Thai food! It used to be they wanted Indian food, which we love but truly had not found satisfactory in the past. I'm so glad because Thai Taste Kitchen doesn't disappoint! They have been impeccable about marking the containers & even packaging meat vs vegetarian items in separate bags, and they allow specifics like "no shrimp paste" or whatever, more of "this" or none of "that". White Rice included free with entrees thst are not noodle or rice based, and if you prefer individual instead of family style, you can add an appetizer to each entree individually for about $5-$6, which is about the same as splitting an appetizer order in half, but sometimes people prefer a different appetizer. I like to avoid fried foods, for example, but others love egg rolls or fried chicken (was that an appetizer or an entree?) Thai Iced Tea comes in one size only, and it's small, but consider the calories. This is probably best in small size & I was thoroughly satisfied, I had not indulged for many, many years and it was so delicious. If possible, get it with no ice so it doesn't melt on the way to your destination, you can add your own ice once you get there. Tbh, I started drinking it immediately & finished it in about 10 min, since my husband was driving. Treat yourselves & I think you'll be really glad you found this place. One caveat, they are short staffed so keep that in mind if you eat in the restaurant, I believe only one person is serving tables and may also handle the register, so it may require patience. The beauty of Take Out is we can set out a buffet, everyone grabs a plate & chooses ehat they like, and we can reheat warm items in the microwave in about a minute, and it tastes it's best hot.
