A Haven of Mastery and Mentorship at Bravé MMA…read more.. I'm a 46 year old blue belt with at desk job. BJJ has been the best thing that i have done in my life. Nothing worth doing is easy and this goes for BJJ. The rewards are the people you meet and the knowledge you gain and share. It is very fullfilling. Additonally, for several hours a day, focusing on BJJ takes my mind off of any other problems that I have whether its a stressful job or a bad day in general. They say meditaton is good, well....bjj is great and gets you in shape too). At Bravé MMA, my training experience has been transformed under the expert guidance of Coach Kenny and his older brother, Coach KB, an MMA champion. Coach Kenny's deep knowledge and approachable style in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, combined with Coach KB's exceptional skill in boxing, BJJ and Muay Thai, create an unparalleled learning environment. Their commitment to each student's growth, whether in competitive spirit or skill development, is evident in every class. The gym's focus on safety, personalized training, and fostering a positive, supportive atmosphere sets it apart, in my opinion. Unlike my previous gym experience, Brave MMA emphasizes skill and personal development over a transactional, attendance-based approach. This nurturing environment, where challenges are met with encouragement and individual strengths are honed, makes Bravé MMA a unique and rewarding place for anyone passionate about martial arts. I've been bringing both of my children here now for a month at the recommendation of my neighbour…read more(her husband and children go here as well). We had previously tried out Jiu Jitsu two years ago at a different St. A dojo and did not have a good experience. At first, I was a little apprehensive to give it another try and the prices at Arashi-Do are higher than the other dojos I had looked at but decided to give it a go because my son's best friend wanted to sign up at the same place together. You can contact them via facebook, email, or by telephone. I initially sent in an email with questions about the program and received a telephone call in return from co-owner, Monitor Stephenie, and I was put at ease. Monitor Stephenie and Professor Tyson (married couple) co-own this franchise location and run the dojo together. They are fabulous - I cannot say enough great things about them. I've got one kiddo in Mini Monkeys (30 minutes 2 x a week) and one kiddo in Junior Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (45 minutes 2x a week). You pay the same for your membership whether you are in the 30 minute, 45 minute, or 60 minute classes - that I don't like but that's more to do with the franchise and the way Arashi-Do is set up than this particular location set up. The gym itself is bright, clean, spacious, and well-ventilated (I have not overheated as a parent sitting on the sidelines once). There are change rooms with a curtain as well as a washroom. What I'm really liking about Arashi-Do 1) that it's got a well-defined children's program and there is a difference between the mini monkeys and JBJJ. 2) Professor Tyson is phenomenal. My 9 year old daughter is completely comfortable with him and my 6 year old son thinks he is the bee's knees. Monitor Stephenie is fabulous, super kid friendly, approachable and easy to talk to. They really have a great balance as Professor and Monitor. Another neat thing is that they take their belts, stripes, and grading SERIOUSLY. The Master flies in from Brazil once (maybe twice) a year for all graded exams. Professor Tyson does regular stripe and colored bar tests but I believe the belt colour exams only occur when Mestre Sylvio da Matta Behring, 8th degree coral belt, visits. You can read more about their program on their website: http://arashido.com/programs/brazilian-jiu-jitsu Again, so happy to have found a dojo that works for our family and everyone feels comfortable and safe in. Discipline is foremost here but everything happens in a really structured and kid friendly manner. I'll definitely do an update in the future!

I live in Beaumont and take the time to drive to Leduc just to go to the 9 rounds gym. I have to…read moreadmit it's not your typical gym. They don't just sell you a package and then that's it... all the staff are awesome! What I appreciate the most is that you can have 0 skill set or fitness level or be at a 10/10 and this is a perfect fit! The reason being, your only competition is yourself. If you're just easing into it, or you're in the best shape of your life... you would just increase intensity all while still getting an amazing workout in. Each day, is different exercises and reps so you don't get bored with the workout. Except the 1st station, which is warm up and is skipping. As a kid I used to be able to skip for hours, so I thought... hey, this will be easy. Lol 3 minutes of jumping rope when you're outta shape kicks my ass. But it gives me incentive to keep going and keep building to what I know I'm capable of. What's great is at each station when you switch... theres a trainer there to explain/show you what to do. They are there to show you as well as motivate you and keep you going. I can't say enough about how great they are. Instead of just buying a gym pass and hitting the fitness walls and issues of typical gyms, why not check out 9 rounds and get the most bang for your buck when it comes to you improving your fitness :) and better yet, they clean everything for you!

A couple of weeks ago I won a free week at 9Round Leduc through a Facebook contest. Yesterday was…read moremy first workout for the week and it was absolutely amazing!! Upon entering the facility, the trainers as well as the members were very welcoming. After getting changed into workout gear, Sam took the time to explain how everything works at 9Round. Once that was done, we were able to start our workout. There are 9 stations total (pretty obvious considering the name of the place!). Rounds 1-2 are strength based where you will do exercises with dumb bells, kettle bells, medicine balls, jump ropes and other equipment. Rounds 3-8 are where you will do your Kickbox exercises with different types of moves (ie punching and kicking) on different bags. Round 9 is the ab and core station. You are at each station for 3 minutes with a 30 second break in-between each for a total 30 Minute workout. There are trainers there that help you through out each exercise. They will also help you wrap your hands and put your gloves on. Once your gloves are on, they will help you with anything - and I mean ANYTHING! Shoe is untied? Trainer will tie it for you. Need your shirt tucked in? Trainer will be there to help with that as well. And the best part? You don't need to clean up the equipment or wipe anything down after each exercise - the trainers do that too!! I found the trainers to be very knowledgeable, helpful, welcoming and kind. I had an absolute blast and I'm already looking forward to my next workout! I can't wait to see what my future holds at 9Round Leduc and reaching my fitness goals.
