Cute and quaint little water hole in rugby. My wife ordered a cosmopolitan and the bartenders did not know how to make one. We offered a recipe and nobody was interested. The food we had was good and I will go back again, but hopefully the bartenders can learn how to make more drinks. read more

I've been to a lot of small town bars and this place is the BEST one I've been to by far! It's recently renovated and has an ENORMOUS bar with tons of tvs if you want to come out and watch a game. There's an outdoor patio, lots of bar games like darts and pool, and a separate side room that my large group basically took over for a private event. There were a couple dozen of us and the servers were on top of it, very attentive! I have to tell you though, the best parts about this place are the amazing food and the people! This is not average bar food. Everything was super fresh and they have a lot of creative menu options. The southwest burger, Reuben and fried green beans are a must try!! I will also never forget our bartender, Heather. She became our best buddy, suggesting drinks she knew we would like to try and chatting us up. I just loved her!! Dirty and drunk bartenders. My friends and I came in this past week after watching a movie and we weren't there for than 10 minutes and we left. Upon entering, there were several men at the end of the bar and they clearly had the bartenders attention. After watching both female bartenders take shots with those men (one of which was right out of the Patron bottle), we finally got their attention. After huffing about making a mixed drink my friend decided on a beer, but before any of the rest of us could get drinks... she went back to the other end of the bar. So there we sat...4 girls and 1 drink. We got up and left without drinking or paying for the beer and they didn't even notice. also, we had no choice but to sit at the bar as every single table was dirty with plates and food on them. Great place located right downtown Rugby. Bar & Grill serving burgers, streaks, sandwiches, salads. Nice atmosphere and a good place to watch sports as there are multiple TV's. Plenty of seating inside as well as outside. Food was served up in reasonable time and was delicious. There are dart machines and pool tables. The beer here is good and cold as they have the bottles on ice, very nice! read more

Nice place. Was here on business. Had the Philly cheese steak sandwich. Pleased with the thicker cut of beef. Fries were good. My companion had the patty melt. Strange thing they had like 8 big screen tvs but all were tuned to some reality show but without even the captioning on. I had hoped for some idle sports watching, but alas no...I was too lazy to ask the waitress to change. On that note waitresses seemed a little indifferent. The guy that ran the food out was very nice though. Also, it's not the restaurant's falult but fat guys shouldn't wear tank tops....just saying. read more

I've had nothing but good experiences at 3rd St Station. The food has always been excellent and the service exceptional!! It is a busy place for a reason. The menu is diverse and delicious. Pleasant waitress, great food. Stopped in while in town visiting family. Had a long lunch. What I really liked was the music wasn't so loud so we could have a nice conversation over a great meal. I had taco grinder, not too spicy. My wife had a soup and salad that warming, on this cold spring day. read more

Ok so here is the unbiased truth. We eat at 3rd st station a lot, Probably once to twice per week so here it is. The good: The food is slightly above average for an American bar and grill. Steaks are very good. Burgers are a 5 out of 10. Not inspired and often overcooked. It's because of the quality of their hamburger meat, seems like previously frozen beef. Other than burgers their hand helds are really good. They have your standard assortment of appetizers with occasional limited time offers thrown in that end up being good. All in all good food though. Very very similar menu to Applebee's. The bad: This restaurant without a doubt in my mind has the worst service on a very consistent basis of any restaurant I have ever been to and that is saying a lot as we have lived in a lot of places and are very well traveled. If your not actually sitting at the bar you are as good as forgotten. You probably won't see your waitress again after you order until you have to go get them for a refill, another round of drinks ,or have to find them to get and pay your bill. They can usually be found drinking at the end of the bar, hanging out near the pass through, or playing around in the dart room if your looking hard enough. In my opinion it seems like most servers are there to hang out and do not have management and leadership presence to drive customer service. You can tell the manager focuses on the kitchen. Now this isn't saying all servers or bartenders there are bad and don't care. Occasionally we get descent service. They have a teacher there, I can't remember her name who does actually give descent service. And there may be one or two others but in general if your not sitting at the bar get ready for some of the worst service you've experienced. If the service were good this restaurant would rate a lot higher maybe a 4 to 4.5 but honestly the service is so bad you leave mad no matter how good the meal was. read more

I've been eating at 3rd street since it has opened years ago and I can honestly say I've never had bad service or bad food. The food is phenomenal, especially the prime rib and shrimp scampi. The food is fresh and never frozen. I've seen it personally as I've been there when the truck has came in and the food hauled inside. My kids really love going to eat because they treat them like family and they love all the refills on drinks. The staff is very friendly and courteous and strive for excellent service. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy really awesome food! They are also very willing to change the TV stations to something you would like to watch, just have to ask them ;) read more

A great place to get a fantastic steak. It get's it's name from formerly being a corner gas station on downtown rugby. Very friendly place, like most places in Rugby. Try the Whiskey Steak or the Prime Rib on weekends which, interestingly, is grilled on both sides but flavorful and cooked to perfection. Very reasonable prices. I don't want to get them in trouble but we had brought along a bottle of wine from California. We asked if we could bring it into the restaurant and, if so, if they had a corkage fee. The waitress had never heard of this before and since she did know she said to just go ahead and bring it in. They furnished the wine glasses (though they didn't have a wine corker) and didn't even charge us extra. They also have a great full bar. The restaurant is more like a cafe - no table cloths just several tables and chairs in a seperate room off to the side of the bar. There are a lot of antique license plates and service station paraphernalia on the walls giving the place a nice atmosphere. Our waitress was friendly, quick, and attentive. Well worth the short side trip off the highway into the middle of town. read more
