Great spot! The bikes drew us in, but the music kept us. Two musicians on Saturday night, one out back on the stage and one inside the door on a stool with a bucket for tips. Seriously, if you have a chance to hear Carly Johnson sing -- DO IT!! Bartenders are cool. The space is interesting as it is situated in one of the oldest buildings in all of Bardstown. We loved 3rd Street Tap House. This was our hangout place while visiting Bardstown for the weekend. Our friend, LaDonna who is a local recommended it. Fun place with great live music. Bartenders, Amber, Bree and Megan were fabulous. Even while super busy waiting on the locals and tourists, these three had smiles on their faces the whole time! During a recent visit to Bardstown we randomly stopped in 3rd Street Tap House to grab a drink while waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant. While walking down the sidewalk we saw the sign and decided on a whim to check it out. We didn't go inside, but rather walked up the alley next to the building to access the back bar. There was plenty of seating, both covered and not, and there were heaters. Social distancing was very easy with the layout! We each ordered a drink and received quick and friendly service. We were then able to sit and enjoy our beer and conversation without any issue. The spot wasn't overly loud, and as I mentioned there was plenty of seating and heat, so it was comfortable. Also, one of my favorite parts about this spot, was that there were two large German Shepherds behind the bar! I absolutely love dogs! I wish they could be everywhere. So, meeting these two bonus bartenders was great! If you're in the area and looking for a casual spot to grab a drink, 3rd Street Tap House is a good place to stop. read more

Stopped in for a few drinks before my trip to Bardstown was over. As of my visit in April 2024, this location offered 20 beers on tap, half of which are IPAs. One of the beers had run out. So, not wanting to taste pine needles and grapefruit pith all night, options were limited. Bartender was polite, but far more interested in her phone than any of the patrons. Whiskey selection was fantastic even including some rare finds, but their prices definitely reflect that they are aware of the rarity. No food, but a nice location along the main strip of downtown. Does have a bit of a dive bar feel to it. I heard the back bar out on the patio is nice, but personally I didn't venture out there. Decent place to stop for a beer, just watch the prices as you order your bourbon. read more

AVOID!! Unless you want to get ripped off. From an earlier review, looks like I'm not the only one. Came here on a Saturday night at 12:40 AM, for a last drink of the night with friends brought together by a recent death. I asked for a Zombie Dust on tap, and two bottom shelf Old Fo on ice for friends. How much would it cost? Probably about $15 max right? Bartender brings me a bill of $56!! She ignores me for 10 minutes before I finally flag her down about the bill. She says the Old Fo was $25 a shot! Then when I tell her that's impossible, she then says they were out of the regular Old Fo so they used something else. I asked her to get the bottle, and she fumbles around and gets a bottle of 1920. I argue how she didn't tell me and is charging me for something I didn't order, in addition to the ridiculous price even for that. She offers to take off one shot. Of course I knew this was the scam. In the end, I paid $31, twice more than I should have, but was tired of arguing and had to move on. Of course, no tip because she charged me for something I did not order instead of what I actually ordered. The bartender is in on it. Sounds like the owner is in on it too. IF YOU ARE FROM OUT OF TOWN, STAY AWAY!! They will try to take advantage of you. read more

Husband and I had been here before a few years back and really enjoyed the place. So while in again we stopped back and had a round while we were waiting for a table at another restaurant. All the beers are $6 a pint. The bourbon selection is huge. The staff was friendly and helpful. Would recommend stopping in for a drink. read more

Fun place for drinks on a Saturday night! The bar was absolutely packed and the band was cranking out country hits. The female singer could really belt some tunes! The bartenders were doing their best to keep up with this hoppin' crowd. read more

Hello everyone, I want to address a situation that happened last night at the Third Street Tap House that was absolutely disgraceful. I was physically ripped out of my bar seat by an older woman claiming it was hers. Her "boyfriend" then escalated the situation by trying to press against me. Rather than let things get worse, I removed myself from the situation and moved to the end of the bar. The young bartender, who witnessed everything (and is on camera), not only failed to address this disgusting behavior but actually rewarded them by serving them first, smugly admitting, 'They tip me $40 every time.' So, customer safety means nothing as long as someone throws you a big tip? To make matters worse, every time I've been in your bathroom, it's been absolutely disgusting--covered in urine. You allow harassment, reward violent behavior, and can't even maintain basic cleanliness. This place is a total disgrace, and people need to know how vile and unsafe it is. read more

My husband and I arrived around 4 pm. and sat at the bar. The female bartender acknowledged us and said she would be right with us. We watched her then approach a group of guys who came in a minute later and take their order. Then she went to the end of the bar and took another guy's order. Then she went down to the other end of the bar and took an order from a guy who came up and stood by me for a while. Then she went to another guy to the right of my husband. We left! read more

My fiancé was there last Friday night he bought two Budweiser's and one shot of patron They charged his card $88. Obviously there's a mistake on the charge yet. There is no way to contact anyone for this. Hopefully this review will get a response on how to make the credit card charge, correct. read more

I'm a bit torn about this place/AKA husband daycare (per the self proclaimed sign outside). They don't serve food, but I don't fault them for that at all, there's plenty of good spots for food in Bardstown. We were there during one of the many seasonal festivals in downtown Bardstown. After I tried the door, I noticed the bar tender standing there, scrolling on her phone, but she didn't budge or look up... They were closed, it was still five minutes or so left until open time. So, we plopped down and sat at one if the few outside tables and chairs to wait. I'm not sure what the deal was... maybe she wasn't permitted to open on time, maybe she was annoyed that we waited. Whatever the case was, if you have people waiting especially during a peak event... unlock the door on time! We finally got in! The tin cups that lined the wall prompted me to order a Kentucky Mule. To my surprise she served it to me in a glass. She hates me! I still wanted a dang tin cup, so I inquired about the wall full of them. The locals purchase them for $15, use them when they're there and then they hang the cups up on the wall with their name posted on it. Ah ha... that's it, they cater to the locals... No big deal, I get it. I can take rejection. They do have a few top shelve bourbons at reasonable prices. We later learned that a friend of ours stopped in the same day and got the same bourbon at a different price than what we did. Happy hour whenever they choose, I guess. The beer... they only had two IPAs and not many local Kentucky beers at all. No offense, but if you find this to be the best craft beer selection in Kentucky, please accept my invitation to show you around the Lexington beer scene. read more

Solid craft beer and bourbon selection, young, local, boisterous crowd. We were staying at the Air BnB upstairs from this place and stopped here for a beer after a long drive to town from Michigan during the off season (January). 10 craft beer taps in addition to a large bottle list. No food. We didn't try bourbon. Loud atmosphere, swear it was a college crowd, but don't know if there is a college near here. Everyone seemed to know each other. Crowd was polite, but drunk. Service was great for how busy they were. Close time seemed to be driven by crowd atmosphere. No last call was given (that I heard, but it was loud). The great draft craft-beer selection (best in Bardstown that we found!) will bring me back, but if you're there late, be ready for a rowdy atmosphere. read more

Great drinks and atmosphere. The place was packed with a great energy. They have an outdoor patio and live music. Really great time!

Had dinner down the street and saw a nice tap house to boot. Stopping in was a must. Was greated by a cozy atmosphere that was busy but not over crouded. Looked at their tap list and saw several that I wanted to try. Bar keep said why not try them all!?!? I was driving so we had to tame that down a bit. Going with the flight they offer, 4-4oz pours for $10 was a no brainer. For being a smaller bar on the far outskirts of Louisville, they had an impressive tap list. I mean they have KBS for crying out loud!! Winner in my book! They other clientele was very friends and was easily identified as beer connoisseurs. I grabbed my flight and proceed outside to enjoys my selection, while people watching from the sidewalk. This is a great place to enjoy a pint of something you're not used to drinking. read more

Don't bother going in if you're not (or don't look) white... you won't be served. My boyfriend and I went in for a drink after dinner just to kill time before we went home. It was a Saturday night around 7 pm so there were people there, but not too many. I hate to play the race card, but we both found it to be extremely coincidental everyone else was getting served. The bartender didn't appear to be the best at her job so we gave her some grace. While he was in the restroom I waited while she conversed with another bartender. The second bartender went to the back and the first bartender went down in a line asking everyone for their orders. I typically see bartenders making a mental note of who was there first, but again- grace. My boyfriend came back and suggested we sit so she would serve us. Unfortunately that was not the case. She asked the people to the left and right of us even though we'd arrived prior to them. We don't want to say it's because of the race thing, but you can decide for yourself. We took our business elsewhere. Booo zero stars. read more

This place is a complete rip off. It is a common hole in the wall bar. I ordered a Bulleit Rye and diet cocktail. They charged me $25 for the one drink. I explained there must be some kind of mix up. The bartender said that is what the owner is charging. . The owner must be an idiot. And the bartender lost a tip because of this ignorant owner. read more

We happened upon 3rd St Tap House downtown Bardstown on Sat night. They had music outside and inside. Both artists were fantastic. We sat outside had $2 Miller lite drafts and had a great time. Great place to visit. read more

Stayed two nights in Bardstown and went here both nights! First off I like how you walk in and you can tell most everyone in there knows everyone else (I mean it is a small town after all) but they don't make you feel unwelcome or anything, actually quit the opposite. The patrons were all very friendly as well as the bartender and owner. The craft beer selection is awesome! 21 taps all craft with about 6-8 being Kentucky local breweries. Prices are totally reasonable for the quality of beer being served, and service was great! I recommend this place to anyone staying or going through the area! And hope to make it back in there soon! read more

Lots of beers but lots of patronage so if you're not into the elbow to elbow atmosphere (especially during weekends) and a wait for drinks then this one may not be for you. There is a back patio with a bar that was less crowded, but it was a cool night, so probably packed during the warmer months. read more

Great little bar in downtown Bardstown (which happened to be right below our AirBNB - so it was super convenient). The craft beer and bourbon selection is complimented nicely by good background music and good people. Service is a bit slow but always with a smile. read more

This is exactly what it claims to be, and does it well. Several beers covering a variety of local, regional and national names and variety of styles. A good bourbon selection. Talked with locals, and the bartender. Everyone was friendly and helpful, including the owner who filled us in on the upcoming Saturday night street concert. A new goal for our next trip! read more

Stopped in for an afternoon beer while sightseeing. Seamed like we were interrupting. One of the ladies finally come down and served us then promptly went back to the far side of the bar back on the phone. If you don't like people I would suggest another line of work.
