I asked if I could use the acupuncture Groupon for $39 since I wasn't sure if she would do acupuncture or give me herbs, but she told me that for my condition she could not use that and charged me $99 (and then gave me acupuncture anyway). I had to pay in advance of the service. Upon checkin, I had to fill out a ton of forms, even asking for my drivers license and social security number. I did not fill out those details. It requested that I sign saying that I would get no refund, that the packages expire, that there is no guarantee to the treatment, etc.That already felt invasive. Dr. Liau kept telling me that I had a virus that was causing the gastritis and she would fix me. She gave me acupuncture and added the TENS unit (microcurrent). The treatment was pretty standard. What wasn't standard is the assistant who kept nodding, agreeing, and when she said, "I'm going to put some more needles to help your liver and spleen," the assistant nodded and said, "good idea," in fact, the entire time the assistant followed her around and nodded to everyting she said. At the very end, I was sat down again, and she reiterated the virus causing gastritis, and tried to sell me a package of expensive as heck acupuncture, and started more salesy items for the herbs, which I told her I had to go back to work, and could I please have the herbs for my condition. They were $15 for a large bottle which was mostly empty, and would last me 3 days. There was no evidence that she mixed anything herself, it is all retail premixed herbs. I highly recommend visiting another acupuncturist/herbalist. Feifei Liu in Winter Park is the one I go to all the time, and she's worth the drive.

He came into the room where I was sitting and I carefully told him my situation. I explained that I have lower back pain if I sit for long periods of time and showed him where the pain was. He put the needle on my lower back and after about thirty seconds, he took it out. This was a bit strange because it ended abruptly. I asked him why he took it out so quickly because acupuncture needles that were put in my ankle stayed in my ankle for a minimum of 30 minutes. This was what I was used to with my past acupuncture experiences. Dr. Kim explained that there were two methods of acupuncture and that the quick way was as effective as the traditional way (the needles staying for 30 minutes). I was a bit surprised, but through his explanations and expertise I was convinced. Dr. Kim is passionate about his work and craft. He was empathetic to understood my pain and thoroughly explained my questions. He provided complimentary back relief patches as a courtesy. The back felt good during the rest of my stay and I got to enjoy my vacation. The experience here left a lasting impression due to his service. And although this was only one visit, I took his priceless advice on how to sit and do exercises to prevent and help alleviate my back pains.
