Needed a haircut and looked for a quality place that could accept a walk-in Katelene was my cutter and she took time and was devoted to getting me the right cut. Pleasant to visit with, which is always important with your cutter who gets to hear everything. Outstanding cut and even recommended a new product for me and got me a discount. I booked an appointment online for 12:30 and wasn't seen until 1:00. Apparently I wasn't on my hair dressers schedule? I then go to get my haircut and repeatedly tell her to not cut it too short and of course she cuts it too short. Way over priced for this kind of service. I will not be returning. read more

I've been a customer here for quite a while, but every time I find a stylist I like, they change hours or locations and I have to start over! Most recently I saw Trish R for a balayage highlight and cut. It has been years since I colored my hair, so I was a bit nervous. I felt comfortable seeing Trish and she made sure she really knew what I wanted before we got started. She works fast! I was there for about 2 hours and I was expecting to be there for 3 or more. My hair couldn't have been more perfect. My wedding is a few weeks away so I had a lot of questions before we started. She had answers for everything. It's obvious she cares for each client and wants the best for them and their hair. I'm so looking forward to my next appointment with her. read more

I came for a cut with layers, a shine treatment, and a style. I was VERY happy with the first two, and the only reason the curls didn't last is because I got curled early in the morning, and my event was late afternoon. Allison listened to what I wanted, and executed it perfectly, and quickly, with a focus on quality. I'll be following her to her new location to give me a refresh before my baby shower in December. This was my first time coming to this salon. My bestie has been going here for years and always rave about the stylist and how much she loves her hair. So... I ended up coming to this salon after a appointment with a different salon went bad. Like they ruin my hair. Ruin as in... there were so many shades of blonde, yellow... yellow green (yes green), ash and orange in my hair. I honestly have no idea how that salon is still in business. So after two days of having a mini pity party. I called here to see if they could fit me in with someone to try and straighten out my hair. I was paired with Kaylin whom is a level 3 stylist and after researching her portfolio I decided she was the best fit for me since I love doing fashion colors. Soo... I was super embarrassed to show her my head when I showed up. Like it's one thing if I had screw up my hair myself but it's another thing when someone else ruins your hair. I had stressed to them on the phone that they couldn't bleach me again because I was super afraid that route would fry all my hair off. And informed her that I was up for going warmer and rich in color to help it look more healthy again. Again... she was super easy to work with and at no point while working with her did she make me feel bad or like she wasn't confident in being able to fix it. We started off with doing a shadow root all over to tone down my orange roots and then she toned the rest of my hair to cancel out the multiple color hues I had going on which left it a nice rose color... from there we did a velvet purple... yes purple with peekaboo pieces of pink. End result it was stunning... she showed me my before and after pictures. And seeing the pictures before was a shock! Like I didn't realize it was that bad until I saw the pictures... well I mean I knew it was bad but not that horrible. Now I'm looking forward to rocking my beautiful fall hair and working with her again as we play with more colors in the future. As for the salon itself... it was actually quite busy... every booth was full and they even had a people waiting in their waiting area. They have clear showers curtains up in between each booth to make it "COVID-19" safe and everyone had a mask on as well. read more

Please do not ever patron this expensive salon. Not only are many of the stylists sub par, when you have an issue and bring it to the attention of the owner, she will NOT make it right. She will make you feel as though you have some defect or did something in order to deflect responsibility onto you. The response will be: I'm sorry you don't like how your hair, your makeup or your lashes turned out, but did you change your ________? (Moisturizer, cleanser, shampoo, conditioner?) And after you try and fail to work with them on fixing the issue, and explain to others why they should not patron this salon, the owner and her employees will attack you and your character, your age, etc. because 'they feel attacked.' How I left after a rinse treatment today. I heard Jacie say my hair got caught in the drain as she was rinsing and then passed me off to an assistant who tugged on my scalp for 45 minutes. I finally was able to take some "me time" to book with Tori to do a full set of classic lashes. She was incredibly professional and did a fantastic job. Not to mention, she's a joy to chat with. I am so happy with my lashes and thrilled to get back on my lash game and wake up without feeling the need to do any work on my face, because Tori has made my eyes pop! My husband LOVES my lashes and it's definitely a 'treat yo self' treat that this mama on the go appreciates. With all the virtual FaceTime happening these days, I know my eyes and face will look ON POINT because my lashes are doin' all the hard work making me look good. I'm looking forward to my fill in a few weeks. The salon has taken every measure to make sure that patrons are safe and I feel fully confident in going there for my services. I came with my own mask but should you need one, they are selling them at the front desk for just $5. And I can't not mention Brandi who cuts my husband's hair and is my amazing stylist. I have been in Savannah for two year and have not been able to find a good stylist... that ended on Friday when I saw Katie. She did an excellent job with my hair! I have been coloring my hair for 18 years going from light to dark frequently - she took her time with my hair making sure it was perfect without causing damage (going platinum). Our communication process was excellent, making sure we were both on the same page. I highly recommend Katie, nothing short of amazing. I have been looking for a consistent hairstylist in Savannah for 10 years now. I always try someone highly recommended by a friend and find myself with an empty wallet, "okay" results and sometimes even a stylist with a snippy attitude. Brandi, a level 4 stylist at 40 Volume is the first person who has blown my expectations out of the water!! She was extremely insightful and gave me exactly what I wanted even though I rarely know what will look nice on me or what to ask for. Although I may not know what to ask for all the time, she does and she delivers. To top it off, she was able to explain to me why she made the choices she did for my hair and why I would probably prefer one look over another. It felt like a very personal, tailored experience. And although getting your hair done is never inexpensive, the quality of the care she provided easily matched, and dare I say exceeded the cost. I am thrilled to be able to say for the first time in YEARS that Brandi is "my hairstylist". In addition, 40 Volume salon was equally fabulous. I was offered and delivered a refreshment as soon as I sat down in Brandi's chair. At the end of my appointment, I was in a crunch to make another appointment across town. To accommodate my needs, Kelley the store manager brought over recommended product options to choose from, I booked my next appointment and I was able to checkout with a portable credit card reader all from the comfort of "my stylist's" chair as Brandi executed any final touch-ups to my look. My only regret is that I didn't book my brows and lashes from another service provider at 40 Volume instead of driving all over town that day. When I return in October, I will not make the same mistake. read more

This is the 2nd worst haircut in my life. When she was done I didn't even know she was done. She just dry cut my hair and didn't style it at all. It looked worse when I left than when I took it out of my braid.when I walked in I let the front desk know I was not happy they didn't seem too concerned. They also don't bother to tell you you need to park on street so you don't know until your gps says you are there. I am horrified by this haircut. In addition to it not being styled it looks nothing like the picture I showed her. It is so choppy. She butchered my hair. Luckily my hair grows fast. I will not be back. read more

Kristen sanders is amazing! She truly transformed my hair and made it look gorgeous. I had previously gone to someone else in Dallas and they didn't get my hair to how I wanted, I didn't realize truly how bad it was until I started to look at it more and realized that I had lines in my hair and an awful separation as well as some very badly done choppy layers. When I can't to Kristen she noticed these issues and helped me get my hair to something with a more natural transition rather than lines in my hair. If you want someone who is sweet and an awesome hair stylist who will take their time and truly do a good job all the way through I recommend her! The salon itself is pretty neat and cute the only problem is parking, but that is an overall problem in the city of Savannah. The prices for the salon are a bit up there from what I'm used to which sucks but the work is good so I guess there is some justification for spending $205 w/out tip. read more

Krystle is my go-to for curly cuts. You will not be disappointed! I have been coming here for a while now so I decided to update my review. In my previous review I talked about how I love that they have the bios for their stylists online. This is what helped me find someone trained in cutting naturally curly hair. Krystle is a wizard and a chemist. She is always trying new things on her own hair and will try them on you if you're interested. My recent favorites include the exfoliation for buildup on the scalp--think relaxing massage that will have your scalp feeling amazing. She also knows my curl pattern well, trimming in the places that grow faster/differently for a great looking cut every time. The prices are still the same as when I wrote my previous review but the consistently great service is worth it. Next time: I'm scheduling my cuts before all the important travel coming up! read more

Update: I was contacted by one of the owners today and she was so nice and understanding. She offered me a revision cut with another owner and master stylist and a refund. I unfortunately live an hour away so won't be traveling to get my revision cut there. If you go here, just be sure to go to one of the stylists with good reviews. So many other people have had good experiences here so I'm sure there must be competent stylists here. Came here today for the first time as a walk-in. Lindsey was my stylist. I wanted to get the hairdresser's opinion on what type of haircut to get but said that I absolutely did not want a blunt cut. I got my cut, paid, and left in a hurry to meet up with my husband and daughter without really examining my cut as I should have. When my husband saw me, he pointed out that my hair was super uneven and when I got home and was able to examine my cut, I was so disappointed and almost in tears. I realized that it was the first time I had gotten a cut and not had the stylist show me the cut with a hand mirror and I know why. It looks terrible, is uneven and pretty blunt, exactly what I did not want. Now I'll have to pay another $40 somewhere else tomorrow to fix what I had done here. Lindsey did a terrible job. I visited 40 Volume Salon last week for a cut and highlights on my blonde unruly, natural curls. Krystle was my stylist. Not only did she listen to my concerns, which included complaints about the "on-going gold/orange hue" color I'm left with no matter which salon I go to, but also the triangle shape cut I always end up with. (you curly girls know what I'm talking about) Krystle had her work cut out. We put her curly girl methods to the test. Not only did she fix and make my hair into a more voluminous rounded style, but she made me a happy blonde again! I am thrilled to have finally found (after 5 years of searching) someone that I trust, has a vision for my fragile locks, and will keep educating me. Thank you Krystle for everything!
