Nailed it!! Wowza, hands down, not even a question, THEEEEEEE BEST Benedict I've ever had! The Hollandaise was soooo creamy, smooth and perfectly seasoned, finished with the perfect amount of lemon! I typically have to ask for more sauce when I order benedict, a lot of places are stingy on the sauce, not here! Quite the opposite actually. They must know how awesome it is and truly let it be the star of the show. I opted for the "veggie" version of benedict, it was the english muffin, sliced tomato, spinach and avocado. I'm not a vegetarian but dont eat a ton of meat, so this was right up my alley. The hubby ordered Corned Beef Hash and really enjoyed his as well. I will add, it was pretty tasty but I found it to be a bit too salty for my liking. Hash is pretty salty though... Our server, Tina, was incredible and it really shows she loves her job! Wow! This place is an amazing breakfast spot. It's a very small restaurant but don't let that hold you back from going. We went on a Sunday morning. You sign in on a sheet hanging up outside and a gentleman came out and sat us when a table was available inside. There are 3 small tables outside on the patio. Sadly, this is not a dog friendly restaurant. We ordered the original eggs Benedict and corn beef hash & eggs. The eggs Benedict was one of the best eggs Benedict I've ever had. The service was outstanding and the food was very delicious. We liked how this place was a true Arizona Cardinals fan as well as a huge supporter into veterans. Stopped in here for lunch on Sunday as was in the area. The cafe is small, holding only 45-50 customers but the menu is varied, down to earth and prices are great. I had a Cobb salad and others had sandwiches (buffalo chicken and cheese steak). The salad was large with lots of fresh toppings. The sandwiches were also heathy portions with lots of side options. The buffalo chicken in particular was huge and the potato salad home made. Our waitress was Tina who offered great friendly service and was funny as well. I definitely will be back! read more

Found this gem this morning and so glad we did. We had family in town and we were going to go to another breakfast place we usually go to but they were closed so we found this place on the spot. When first arrived, we were treated by a man. We were a large group of 10. Right off the bat he was very rude and made it clear that he didn't want us there and kept asking if we were going to wait since it was going to be a long wait so we kept saying yes we were willing to wait. I know they were super busy and to have a large group come in in the midst of it is annoying but you shouldn't treat the customers with disrespect because of it. Aside from this man being disrespectful almost the whole time we were there, everyone else was SO NICE. When we finally sat down and ordered the waitress was such a darling and had such amazing energy. Getting the food was a whole different experience, finally tasting the food made us all realize that the long wait was SO WORTH IT. The food was amazing And they have such amazing prices. I love the fact they have fresh Orange juice as well! Plus plus!!! As we were getting ready to leave the owner came out & gave my son & the kids in our group cookies. Thank you so much for accommodating our large group on such a busy day. This will def be a place we will come back to over & over again! Not sure how a friend of mine found this on his radar. 4-1/2 stars with over 200 reviews for a smallish cafe in a strip mall. We just had to go check it out. Too cold for us to sit outside but it was real early and the tables were set well apart inside. Our server was really good and judging by her conversation with some of the patrons she had been there quite a while and knew many of her customers. The food was good and portions were plenty. Little things bring it out of a 3 star review, which at first glance it could be. Coffee and juice were less than most places. Pet peeve of mine is serving cool toast with a hard lump of butter. Our English muffins were buttered fresh out of the toaster and still warm when arriving at the table. We will most likely come back again. read more

For hole-in-the-wall breakfast diners, this is one of the best. It's too bad they aren't open on weekends, but if you can make it during the week 5a-2p, you'll be in for some great food and service. The tables seat 2-4 and I bet they'd push them together for you for a bigger group. Even Friday at 9am was about a 15min wait (worth it). Hot tea served in an individual tea pot and bottomless coffee for my guests - which was filled about 6 times by different servers throughout our stay. They truly put in a group effort to serve their guests, it's evident. I had the delicious Country Scrambler - so tasty. The thin-sliced fried ham was a wonderful surprise and the homemade biscuits were delicious. For 3 people with beverages and some extra sides we still paid less than $40 before tip - so reasonable! A couple of plastic tables for eating outside - although it's part of a strip mall so your view isn't the best, and no dogs allowed outside either. read more

About the 3rd time I have had breakfast here (I get up super early so one of the few places that is open at 5:00am to help fill those morning cravings. A couple of times I got the eggs / bacon / hash browns and one time I got the pancakes and bacon and this place definitely does not disappoint. Breakfast is always consistently good and the servers are super friendly and funny (you feel an instant connection and the feeling they want you to be there) - side note they have the best bacon I have ever had - cooked perfectly and each slice has some substance to it. I probably wouldn't have come here but for some reason I was reading the Yelp reviews and bookmarked this place. Checked off. Seen this place before and very very unassuming cafe in the strip mall. We walk in and not sure what to expect. One of the waitress tells us to just take a table. So we sit down and there is crumbs on the table. Wife is freaking out (Scottsdale woman) hahaha. One of the customers gets up and says I will get that cleaned up for you. Man is this place different. It seems something like the 60's or maybe like home. Waitress are just talking to the customers. Joking and everything. Just like home. Not your normal cafe. I ordered the ultimate skillet. It had home potatoes, bacon, ham, sausage, onions, peppers with eggs on top with a side of English muffin. I really love home potatoes. I thought it was pretty good. Tasty, huge portion and filling. Not bad. My wife for the Caesars chicken salad. This was very very different salad than other places we visited. Nice chunks of chicken, bacon, and egg. I was able to sneak a few bites and it was really good. It comes with Texas toast. My wife really liked the salad and toast. Usually she doesn't eat the bread with her salad but not today. She really like it. As for the service, these servers are like your family. Seemed like your aunts or something. Take you order, fills you water glasses and coffee but never asked how everything is cause it's seems like home. Like family. Very homie place. Only talking at this place was with the waitresses. My wife was a little uncomfortable cause it's such a small place that everyone hears your conversations so no one talks too much but with staff. This place had impressed us in 2007. So, while vacationing in Phoenix yet one more time, we were trying to re-live good old times, we returned. Sadly, this time it was not meant to be a happy experience for all. Seeing meatloaf on the menu is Mr. B's signal to stop looking. But, too bad. This meatloaf sandwich was beyond salty. I think if the chef had practiced some restraint on the salt, the meatloaf might have been wonderful. It had a unique sweetness (perhaps the bell pepper?) that I thought was good. But then there were also the powdered mashed potatoes covered with a salty brown gravy and the overcooked green beans. Frankly, it did not cut it. I knew I would hear about it later. My breakfast was supposed to be a home baked biscuit topped with ham and egg and gravy. I requested my biscuit be served separately and they kindly provided it on a separate plate with some butter. Huge and thick it was, but you and I know being big does not necessarily make it better. This biscuit was dense and doughy. I was going to give it the benefit of the doubt and picked out one blackberry jam packet from a carrier set on the table. And lucky I did. The waitress came by and smilingly asked me if I had enough jam. Not getting her drift, I said yes. Then she, without further ado, commandeered that little jam organizer and presented it to another table. Whut? Is this yet another recessionary tactic? My eggs were scrambled nicely. And the smokey ham was thinly sliced and tasty. The sausage gravy was delicious. But I was still reeling from the jam thievery. As it turned out, I was not that impressed with the biscuit and ended up leaving the outsides on the plate and eating the buttered innards with my teaspoon of jam. So I guess she did me a favor so I wouldn't eat so many carbs without thinking. BTW - The hashbrowns were perfect. Soft inside and crispy outside. Ate em all. Coffee is by Farmer Brothers. My new favorite neighborhood lunch place. It's always a challenge to find things close to home when a friend wants to meet and grab something to eat. I usually default to the Desert Ridge area. But this is such a cute little place and the food is delicious. Sherrie was our waitress. Wonderful personality, helpful, aware and awake. Her recommendation for the hamburger and potato salad were spot on. Will definitely go back. The hamburger was made exactly as I like it, not greasy, medium rare, on a tasty bun that tasted like it was baked that morning. And the potato salad - YUM! Just like mama makes it (that would be me...) A regular hamburger, potato salad and ice tea was less than $10... I'm always interested in supporting small local businesses. Shop local. Eat local. Support your neighborhood eateries. Only caveat is that this is definitely slow food. It took about 15 minutes to get our order. So if you're in a hurry, maybe visit at a time when you can relax and enjoy conversation with your lunch partner or the great locals at nearby tables. read more

This is a tiny, unassuming hole in the wall (the sign outside only says "cafe"), but it's a great little place that really hits the spot. Pretty sure they're only open for breakfast and lunch, it also seems to be a real "regulars" type of place as well, so the service is very 'down-home'y. Came in on a Wednesday just after 11am so we just missed their breakfast specials. Our meals were very large and priced well. I had a combo plate with pancakes, eggs and sausage. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese on the side as well. The pancakes were very large and fluffy and my eggs were poached PERFECTLY! The bagel was very fresh tasting... not sure if they make them there but I would be surprised if they didn't! Did have to take one star away because my husband did not enjoy his Eggs Benedict. Had been meaning to try this place for a while and decided to come here on a weekday off from work, hoping for no wait. Well, I was wrong, even on a Monday there was about a 10-15 minute wait. Oh, it may have been a holiday... Pam was our server and she was very upbeat, friendly and prompt. Food was good. I had my no fuss keto friendly breakfast (2 eggs over medium and a side of bacon, plus decaf) and I had to try their chicken fried steak (which I did not fall in love with). Hubby had a chorizo skillet and diet. I have no clue about the individual prices because the order and receipt are handwritten, but it was $25 before tip. We may be back eventually but not very often, for me the cons would be wait time (good for them), and the place is a little too small/crowded. Most places with carpeting have a terrible musty odor, but this place didn't smell bad at all. For a small mom and pop, their menu is pretty extensive. We went in at 1:30 p.m., and it was still 3/4 full. The clientele was an older crowd, but mostly all regulars. There was a lot of good humored banter between the customers and the wait staff. We were told to seat ourselves and were given our menus immediately. When I go to a restaurant, I like to get recommendations from the wait staff on their favorite dish on the menu. I always end up with a happy stomach this way. Based on the server's suggestion, I got the chicken fried steak which came covered in their homemade gravy. It was seasoned perfectly and not too overtly salty! I substituted the potatoes with grits which were nom nom nom. With my meal, I ordered the biscuit and it was also homemade like Grandma made. The only complaint I have is that they served the biscuit and grits with margarine. Big no-no. The service was first rate and our coffee was refilled on regular intervals. It's not often yelp let's me down but today it did. This place is dissapointing and totally not 4 stars. If you like greasy spoons you might like it, but in terms of quality food it's a big miss. First, they have no indoor waiting area, just a piece of paper taped to a post outside. We went in and were yelled at to go write on the "waiting list" outside. After a very long wait we were seated and gruffly asked for our drink order. The man who brings people in and does drinks needs serious customer service training. Our waitress Kim was nice. We ordered French toast and pancakes along with sausage, bacon, and eggs. I've never had a chewier pancake in my life, and the sausage patties were way too salty and clearly were frozen previously. Eggs had no flavor. The French toast was at least edible. Overall I'd give this place zero stars but yelp requires one. Never again read more

I love those little cat faces like the hole in the Wall's where everybody knows everybody. It reminded me of the old TV show Alice where everyone address Everybody by their first name and knew what they were already going to order and have the hot coffee smell. Ambiance in this place awesome and the waitresses are absolutely fantastic. The food is out of this world especially the homemade desserts. So many times we get caught up in the fancy-schmancy restaurants with their specialty dishes and we forget about good old-fashioned feel good food with feel good people both customers and the staff.
