It wasn't even crowded - shocker unto itself! We ordered 1 coffee. Other people were seated after we ordered. They ordered and got their full breakfast and coffee, before anything arrived at our table. All we ordered was a side of hashbrowns and a toasted bagel, one coffee and one water. The hashbrowns came before the coffee. I requested ketchup. Finally had to go up and get it myself. The coffee came with the toasted bagel. We waited 28 minutes for a toasted bagel and coffee. Stopped in here while up north for some bagels and baked goods! What a treat! Their cinnamon roll was TO DIE for! And their sriracha cheddar bagel was so so good. The folks working that morning were incredibly friendly and wonderful. Love the cozy feel of the inside as the sun was rising. They were right around the corner from our airbnb so we decided to give them a try. I had the turkey bacon pesto which I thought was delicious. My wife had the steak and eggs which was very sub par. The steak was sirloin and extremely tough. She also had a chai drink which was also just ok. The service was good and the location outside was nice too. Our friends food was also sub par. About the only Breakfast Spot in Sutton's. I was prepared for a good breakfast with terrible service based on some of the reviews I read. What we got was a Great Breakfast with Outstanding Service. My wife ordered the Morel Omelette, a Blueberry Scone and Vanilla Tea. The only complaint was it was too large to finish. (Not really a complaint, more of a comment) I ordered the basic American with an Incredible Cup o' Joe. Considering it was a little rainy and outdoor seating was tabled, hehehe, we had to waitlist for about 10 minutes for seating restrictions. The staff was up front and courteous. Definitely the last time. Usually only there in the summer so I hadn't been there since last year. Server brought apps and entrees together but I can deal with that. What I can't deal with is the bug I bit into in my salad. Mentioned to the server, She said she'll let the cooks know. 2 Soups, 1 Salad, 1 cinnamon roll, a latte and a coffee.......$60.00. The only place open on a Sunday morning and it was very good. We ordered the Corned Beef Hash and Mexican Fiesta Omelette, sourdoughs bread, and coffee. Both were more food than we could eat and very tasty. I think some of these negative reviews are people who don't understand the strains of running a small business - especially a restaurant. Ok, So I read many of the comments posted before me, and I really wondered what I was getting into coming here. We arrived on a Sunday morning in the fall, in the midst of Covid. There was clearly seating outside, and a somewhat small line, so my wife and I put our names in. Contrary to some of the comments here, we were met with a very professional woman who clearly was keeping things organized amongst chaos. We had a shorter wait then anticipated, and were seated fairly quickly. Both my wife and I thought the coffee was pretty good, and the service quick and friendly. The food itself was quite good; my eggs were to order, hashbrowns warm and crisp. Given the small staff, busy weekend morning, and general situation with Covid, I think they did very well. In short, as an out of towner who doesn't understand or really care about the small-town politics others have commented on, I'd say it was a pretty darn good place to eat. read more

We arrived on a Thursday morning around 9:30 (just before the morning rush) with a" lovely" greeting "how can I help you"... For a second I thought we walked into the wrong establishment. They had multiple tables available but we were told the wait is 20min. Ok, maybe they're short on staff. A guy walked in right after us, the hostess seemed to know him, and he got seated immediately. We waited outside (their outdoor patio was closed possibly due to shortage of staff). Long story short, we decided to get our order "to-go" after we noticed people who arrived after us getting their food in to-go boxes and eating on the patio, which we preferred anyway over eating indoors. I got the waffle with berry toppings... It had to be the saddest looking waffle my eyes ever saw. I could have dealt with a sad looking waffle, but it was soggy and it had no flavor. I'm 100% convinced it was a frozen waffle warmed up in the microwave. It is impossible for a fresh waffle to taste and look like that (I know, I should have taken a picture). I had two bites and could not eat more. $ wasted. The hostess , a middle aged blond woman, didn't seem to handle the stress of her job well at all. Lacked basic customer service skills. Since I was left hungry, and a little hangry, we went across the street to the cute coffee shop. read more

The food is fine, but DON'T YOU DARE complain about anything!!! You'll be chastised. Plus NO A/C in the restaurant...so staff worked and customers ate in the sweltering heat! We went here for breakfast recently and one of our party didn't realize his omelet had onions in it. He couldn't eat it, so we asked the server if they could remake it without onions. The server took it back graciously. However instead of remaking it, the owner (I assume) came out swinging with a huge attitude and criticized us for sending back and said the menu says it has onions and if want it remade, he'd charge us for it (another $12). The whole table, as well as other tables nearby, were dumbfounded by this HORRIBLE display of customer service. This made our server (who was so apologetic) uncomfortable, as well as us! I would like to say the food was good (even the one we paid double for), and it was. But with a business treating customers like this and willing to humiliate them over a simple request that could have been resolved with some goodwill and less than $3 of ingredients, I CANNOT recommend this place. read more

Pretty decent lunch! We stopped in right before closing as we needed a quick lunch before hitting wineries. This score is based on a comparison to other similar restaurants as not fair to grade against either higher or lower end places. I had the BLT and thought it was very good! I love mayo so glad it was the real stuff and not Miracle Whip. Large sandwich and it came with pickle spear and some crunchy tortilla chips. I wanted to choose 3-stars, but 45th...doesn't warrant the "A-Ok" definition Yelp associates with 3-stars. This place really aggravates me. It aggravates me because the issues we've repeatedly* run into are just too easy to NOT be issues, primarily that of service (which really s*cks as the food is typically always so good, they've got a great location, outdoor seating, and an attached, fun candy store). What they don't have: consistent, friendly service. Wait, yes they do; it can be counted on to be consistently aggravating. Over the years/visits we've experienced the same issues others have written about: not being greeted or acknowledged; being overlooked/seated for those who were perceivably "regulars"; disinterested, inattentive wait staff; and items ordered not being received with accompanying unapologetic ,'could care less' wait staff attitude upon inquiries of missing items. *Repeatedly: I've so wanted to like this little place that for a few summers I've put off writing a review that gives them anything lower than 4 stars, trying again each year hopeful the listing ship had righted itself. Alas, we gave them another go yesterday and our experiences were again consistent: disappointing, and not even worthy of the 3-star/A-Okay rating. So much for holding off writing a review to warrant 4-stars. I give. The $9 for a bowl of potato soup was terrible. No flavor but so full of cornstarch thickener. We were served a very, very small portion of salsa for our chicken quesadilla (less than 1 ounce). We asked for a little more & were given the same amount. The check came & we saw we were charged $3 for the extra less than an ounce. We understand restaurant cost have gone up but to charge $3 which is 1/5th of the sandwich cost should have been disclosed before it was brought to the table. We have had very good meals at this restaurant in the past but now it is under a new owner we will not be going back. Gosh. They earned this. We've been here once before at the recommendation of a friend for breakfast. And I remember it being good, but for whatever reason I never reviewed this place. Today, we returned, but this time with lunch on our minds. We sat down and I asked if the BLT or the Perfect Grilled Cheese was better. The entire cooking team shooed the new waitress back to us: the BLT. So I got the most delicious sourdough bread with the best cooked bacon I've ever had. I don't have enough BLT's to be an authority, but man. Super delicious. My wife had some kind of Asian chicken wrap that she hated ("The marinade overpowered everything else."), but she ate her chips and was just going to sit there because we have this complex where we just didn't want to say anything. But then a manager came and asked if everything was good. And we were honest: "[This Asian wrap] is not good." I've never seen a manager with customer service this good. "Let us make you something else that you will love." She casually mentioned a chicken salad sandwich and he jumped right to it. Within a minute, he returned and said the recipe on the Asian chicken wrap might be off and that he'd look into it. He joked, "Now I'm going to have to charge you double." We all laughed. I have to mention that the chicken salad sandwich was incredible and worth writing home about. So, so, so good. The BLT sourdough bread was out of this world, though. Pretentious. Expensive for a cafe. Terrible quesadillas. Unclear menu descriptions. Menu offerings are from the 90's. Bad customer service. Sat people on the patio far too close together. (We moved our rickety table away from the other occupied table that was maybe three feet away.) Wobbly, dirty-looking tables on their patio and inside was dark, dated and unclean-looking. The person seating us put our utensils on the table, which may be fine if the napkin covered the utensils from the dirty-looking metal-mesh tables. We ordered items not requiring utensils. Had the chicken salad sandwich; it was fine. Had the Bridget quesadilla; it was disgusting. The menu said it had spinach, portobello mushrooms, chicken, onion, tomatoes and salsa on a plain tortilla. I don't like flavored tortillas, but liked the rest, so that worked. They had the bright idea of putting very watery salsa INSIDE the burrito. It was a sopping mess with at LEAST a cup of mostly raw onions, a sparse few spinach leaves and very, very few diced portobello mushrooms and black beans on a gross tomato tortilla. It came out sitting in liquid and came with tortilla chips and sour cream. I asked about the salsa and was told it doesn't come with a side of salsa but I could pay more for salsa. How irritating. Tortilla chips are salt bombs and the salsa takes that edge off. I picked a wedge up and it leaked all over my bike pants then onto my shoes as I tried to turn away from the table. It continued to leak into a puddle beside the table. The waiter quickly checked in. I said there is something wrong with my order as it is in a puddle on the plate and dripping all over. He said that this quesadilla came with salsa on the inside. He added that it was in the menu description. Actually, the menu did not make it clear that I would not be getting a plain tortilla as stated but instead I would be receiving a gross, raw-onion, quesadilla on an equally gross tomato tortilla that turned into paste with how much watery salsa their nit-wit "cook" dumped in there and that it would be like digging for buried treasure to find the other ingredients sparsely added to the mountain of onions. Shortly thereafter, the manager (maybe) came over to ask how is everything. I told him. He said he was sorry I didn't like it and moved on to make his rounds to other tables. I picked out the few pieces of mushroom, beans and spinach, but left most of my food and left hangry. There was NO discount off of the bill for my barely edible food. We will not ever return to this pretentious dump, and I hope others do not make the same mistake of looking for a good meal here. read more

On a quick weekend trip we stayed two nights and made sure to eat there both mornings. How would we have known this? There was no sign and the tables were all set up. The restaurant didn't have a single customer. At 7:30 it was EMPTY. I would have been fine with someone letting me know that the option existed to order inside and take it out. However, no one had the courtesy to let Me know that and there was nothing keeping them from doing so. I've never been treated so poorly anywhere. read more

ATTENTION: Top ten breakfasts of my life. I usually don't put much excitement in going out to breakfast as I have a small novel full of dietary restrictions but for some odd reason I felt this place would be able to provide and boy did they ever. Although the dining outside was temporarily closed due to impending rain showers we were offered a seat inside- socially distanced of course- opting instead for takeout the friendly and radiant Sage took our order and did so thoroughly with a positive vibe. Sometimes eating out with allergies feels like a burden to put on a staff yet the chef was so reaffirming and even offered a few other options that could align with my desired meal outcome. The coffee drinks were just right and the food followed up promptly. I was able to have a wonderful compilation of veggies and hash browns- fully vegan friendly! My partner enjoyed the huevos rancheros and was delighted with the build your own style. Gluten free bread is a challenge in itself and again this place delivered. The energy of the positive staff seemed to brighten up a slightly grey morning after a terrific night camping out on the water. I highly recommend this place for anyone who has an allergy or preference when ordering their food, along with a solid recommendation for anyone else looking for a tantalizing meal set in a warm and accepting environment.
