I called and they were able to get me in within 20 minutes. The staff was friendly and helpful. My barber (Brandon I think) was great and did an amazing job. Even shaved my neck with a straight razor which is amazing and hard to find someone that can use a razor. The razor also gives that extra close shave. So if any one ever ask "do you want the straight razor?" The answer is always YES I was in town on business so don't know if I'll be back but if I do find myself in town needing a cut I wouldn't hesitate to go here. Definitely would recommend

She gave me the best shave I had in a while - and really helped me understand how to plan for my next haircut, she even wrote down the style of cut and lengths I should ask for if I didn't make it back to her for my next cut (I lived out of the country at the time of the haircut and was just visiting) Since I have moved back to Maine, I wanted Sierra to cut my hair again - so I called and asked if I Sierra was there, a woman confirmed she was there - but told me I couldn't schedule an appointment with her, because the business is strictly walk-in only. I asked to speak to Sierra and she just pretended like I didn't even ask, and said that if I, "Come right now, since no one is in the shop." I could probably get her. So... Sierra - 5 stars. I was really looking to have a regular visit with you. The business structure just doesn't work for me, as I have limited time and require appointments. To the business... 2/5. And here's why: Prices are fair. the only good experience with the business itself. When I moved back to Maine 6-8 weeks ago - I called and explained my experience with Sierra and explained I forgot her name/what chair she was at. I said I think it was the first chair - and the lady who answered the phone goes, "Oh! I remember you, yeah!" and told me to come in. When I got in, I let her know she definitely wasn't the person who cut my hair and she let me know it was Sierra. I asked this new girl, let's call her "First chair lady"... not to cut the right side of my hair and to let it grow. She got distracted with conversation - and completed trimmed 3/4" off the right side of my head... That I was attempting to grow out entirely and completely screwed up the plan and path that Sierra helped me understand would give me the desired hairstyle. Cut was $14 - I gave her $20 and told her to keep it. Even when you displease me as a customer, I still treat your employees well. And you can't let me build a relationship with one person in your shop? Absurd. So, to anyone reading: 1.) Don't let the lady in the first chair cut your hair. Or if you do - make sure she doesn't talk with the other girls in the shop when she is cutting your hair. 2.) Sierra is truly an example of a professional who enjoys and understands her duties - and executes them exceptionally well. (second chair, I learned that after the mistake of a haircut I was given on my last visit) 3. They don't do appointments apparently. Good luck with the barber chair roulette. It took me TWO MONTHS to get the right side of my hair back where it was. This barber shop that I am talking about is located at 611 Hammond St in Bangor and this review is about them. I would say that they have a nice and clean place. You don't need to make a reservation because it's a first come first serve. The price is descent and reasonable compared to the other barber shop in the area.They don't accept credit cards, it's either cash or check only. They have two women barbers working on separate schedules, one on Tuesday and Thursday only and other one is on Monday,Wednesday and Friday, they close on the weekend. Megan did well on my haircut, she did what I am asking her to do and she is very friendly (it was my first time here) I would say if you're looking for just a regular haircut with no fancy hairstyles with an affordable price this is the place to be.

I have come here various times and I now realize that the quality of the haircut depends entirely…read moreon who cuts it. About half the time I've had stylist A. No complaints with them. Half of the time I've had stylist B, who often leaves large patches of under/over trimmed hair and leaves the back neck hair line jagged and extremely far up. This was a very easy cut (think military high and tight) that I've gotten probably 200 times in my life with minimal issue. I was not shown an angle of the back of my head with a handheld mirror-- which I thought was odd. Just because I cannot see my own head does not mean it can be cut so badly.
