I went on this retreat not knowing anyone and left there with a few new quilting friends. The host was very kind and provided good quilting space... well lit with a lamp at each station and easy access to several plugs at each place. She also supplied two cutting stations with extra rulers just in case, two ironing stations and a magnetic table. One of the best parts of this retreat was the great walking trail! We were blessed to have good weather so I was able to walk 3 of the 5 days in a lovely setting. Our host, Kim went out of her way to make sure we had all that we needed in snacks and beverages and even went to the store to get some tea for me. I truly appreciated this and her kindness to all in attendance. I have been to larger retreats and found the smaller group better for me personally to be productive. I think there were 12 of us in all. I was having a bit of difficulty with a pattern and one of the ladies provided some helpful assistance. Our crafting group, comprised of quilters, scrapbookers, and needlepointers, just spent 5 nights at 50 Acre Woods, and I can't say enough wonderful things about our trip! Kim is an amazing hostess who thinks of EVERYTHING... -Beautiful and cozy accommodations (Kim even irons the sheets!) -Delicious meals with presentation that is magazine worthy --Snacks (chips, cookies, nuts, etc) as well as soft drinks, coffee, tea, and bottled waters are well-stocked in the craft room The CRAFTING space includes: individual table for each crafter with light, comfy chair, power strip, and internet. The room also includes a variety of cutting tables and display walls for quilters. -Prior to our visit, Kim had us each complete a survey to include food allergies and preferences, emergency contact information, etc. Kim truly wants 50 Acre Woods to be a retreat like no other, and she has nailed it! Last week I was able to join a group of women I did not know for focused quilting time at 50 Acre Woods. What a great place to meet new quilters!! This retreat center is ALL about the customer. Everything is stocked; common supplies (cutting, ironing, sewing space, rulers, etc.) but wait there is also drinks, and snacks available in the project room that has plenty of space for all projects with great lighting. The guest rooms are spacious and also Kim thinks of everything needed to take care of yourself. Her home cooked meals are very easy to get use to and look forward to! Delicious and healthy! Can't say enough about Kim and the 50 Acre Woods Retreat. From the moment you pull into the drive you are pampered and treated like royalty. She has someone meet you and help unload your car and take your luggage to your room and even park your car once it's unloaded. The food she prepares is A+++. She has you complete a form ahead of time of any snacks, drinks, special needs, allergies etc that you might have and goes above and beyond to make sure you are well taken care of. If you need a break from sewing there are several beautiful seating areas outside where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful setting. Eat, Sew and sleep. That's all you have to do. This is truly an amazing facility to have a retreat at. So comfortable in many ways, lounge area and outside seating to relax, sewing room great layout. Every table has their own light and surge protector. She also has ironing and cutting stations. Food! OMG Kim cooks homemade meals and provides abundant amounts of snacks, sodas, water and coffee. Comfort--- how about a heated mattress on EVERY bed!! You may not want to get out of bed! This is truly a place that everyone will want to check out! We are booked for the next two years! read more

I just returned from a fantastic quilting retreat at 50 Acre Woods! The quilting area is spacious & well laid out. Each quilter has their own table with a light, a very comfortable chair & lots of outlets! There are several design walls & a beverage/snack area that is very well stocked! The retreat center is very comfortable & feels like a home instead of a retreat center. The meals were delicious & well planned. Kim is an excellent hostess. We went on a 5 day quilt retreat here. I think it was advertised as a renovated farmhouse but inside it was stunning! Everything was bright and clean and very up to date. The food was delicious. The setting was gorgeous and, if we hadn't been so obsessed with spending all of our time quilting, would have made a great hike! The quilting room was very bright with natural light as well as provided adjustable LED lights. There were enough design walls for each quilter to have one. read more

50 Acre Woods is the ULTIMATE retreat center. Kim Dyer thought of everything. Meals were gourmet, quilting room was perfect with amazing lighting and design boards. The bedrooms were beautiful, plenty of spacious bathrooms. Everything was immaculately clean. Our group had a jacket class with Corrie Burger and each one of us (11) went home with a stunning quilted jacket-no matter what our skill level. The accommodations were amazing all the way down to the heated mattress pads after a long day of learning news skills from new friends. This place is great. When you arrive someone helps you unload luggage and your sewing machine as well as supplies. The rooms are large and comfortable. Having your delicious food cooked for you is nice. I would encourage you to book a stay!!! The staff is so very helpful with anything you need. read more
