The cacao nibs bowl with its cacao almond milk though a beautiful dish with edible flowers, berries, sunflower seeds, goji berries, and crispy orange was cold to the bone, the almond milk was watery and didn't complement the dish. Perhaps get it with yoghurt over the milk. Quite disappointing. We left it barely touched. Very quick service. Attentive staff. And split billing allowed. Portion sizes are good.

The arancini balls they ordered as a side apparently tasted like they were from the freezer and just heated up. The staff were slow to clear away the tables, and when taking away the coke bottle, there wasn't an offer to get another one. Desserts all sounded good; various flavours of cheesecake and other chocolate cakes and sticky date puddings. But all of them were a bit sickly sweet, and the ice cream that came with it tasted like diet soft serve. On the plus side, there was good background music and nice big glass windows that were opened to let the warm night air in and it was fun watching people walk by. Would I come here again though? I don't think so. I've tried it and it certainly was ok, without being outstanding. There was nothing overly memorable about the meal that I'd rave about and it will be forgotten in a week or two. And, whoever decided to add the slice of lemon is a visionary too. The acidity is just beautiful with the dish. We finished with coffee and red velvet cake. Both were wonderful again. The coffees were expertly made, a real Melbourne coffee. The cake was excellent too. Lovely, tasty and moist. The perfect finish. This was an unexpectedly great meal. We loved the place, the food and the service. The world's most stunning woman and I commented to each other that this was a pretty much the near perfect brunch. Put Servery and Spoon in the inner suburbs and they'd be fighting off customers and have lines around the block. It was that good. Finally, I'm conscious that I'm giving another 5. This is another case of not having the capacity to give a half mark. A 4.5 would have been optimal, but a 4 far too low. In those circumstances, there's no option but to choose the higher mark. Consistency is key, and one thing coffee rush needs is a little bit more consistency, however, when they are on point they are on point! A short macchiato once done well is a creamy cup of goodness. Sometimes if I'm feeling a little peckish I'd compliment it with some banana bread with a selection of plain, walnut, blueberry! Staff are friendly and always have a great chat with them when I'm there!
