First time here and I would go back to try more items on the menu! It's such a cute space in the inside with a patio area for seating. Loved the giant wall mirrors and artwork. The service was pretty well overall everyone that came to our table was pleasant. Our server was Parker and overall she was great, could sense mood shift when we had some questions w our order delay & salad . Our entrees took a bit to come out because of my salad remake. The drinks we ordered were good as well. Kudos to bartender. I'm going to dive right in: duck wings were realllyyyy good no complaints at all!! One of the favorites. Nice sweet sauce. Florida rock shrimp was my fav. Reminds you of a nice shrimp scampi minus the lemon, more garlicky. The bread was good with the sauce. My top fav. Short rib was very tender and good. The asparagus was cooked well too perfect crunch and grill taste. Not a fan of dates but it does add a sweetness if you like. Also came with family style mashed potatoes and they were very good as well. We also order the green beans , heavy lemon profile. zucchini fritters surprised me. Not in a bad way, I wasn't expecting a ball so the zucchini was like chopped up inside w/ another mixed. No much described on the menu. sausage cheddar biscuits were pretty over powering with the sausage , I enjoyed the sauce on the plate with it. High pork flavor, biscuits were soft & moist. chopped salad was very copped. It had peppers, radish, mushrooms , cucumbers & cheese and a lot of the chopped items are not listed on the menu, had to send back for a less chopped. I felt it was more chopped items than lettuce. 5th & Taylor is one of the top restaurants in Germantown. This visit was getting some food before visiting bars on 6th Ave. This is an upscale atmosphere with an open concept. There is a nice, long bar down the right side. They also apparently havea private room larger parties can book. I have not been in there. Service was impecable. Asked for suggestions of things I had not tried and she recommended the bacon wrapped quail and the beef tartare. Honestly one of the best tartares I have ever had and currently my favorite in Nashville. The quail was also esquisite. Kudos on both counts. Went to 5th & Taylor to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was okay and definitely felt like a nice treat meal. Everything came out looking beautiful, it actually tasted good too. We had the qual as starters it was good flavorful nice sweet and salty balance. My gf and I ordered the roasted beet dish was also really good and had a nice mix of flavors and texture with the onions, pecans, and goat cheese. This is something we don't often see on a menu. For entrees, the meat dishes were the stars. The short rib was tender, rich, and super comforting.m. The mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy, and one of my favorite things on the table. The mashed potatoes were gooey almost like glue it went perfect with everything else. I'm not sure if I recommend it. This is the only item on the menu you can get unlimited. I do wish they allow you to select a different sides instead the whole table shared the mash potatoes. The whole place has an upscale feel without feeling too formal, so it still felt comfortable. The hostess were friendly and greats you as you walk in. Our server was just okay she didn't really check in on us much we had to get her attention multiple times to get drink refills. Overall, I thought it was an okay spot for a nice dinner in Nashville, I'm not sure what the hype was about. Ps if it's your birthday you do get a dessert but it's not free. read more

We came here one evening for dinner during our trip through Nashville. We had a big surprise. Walking in from the plain exterior to the exuberant interior was a shock to the system. It's kind of industrial warehouse, it's kind of greenhouse, it's kind of British Museum, it's a lot of things all at once, but above all it was very chic and cozy. I felt relaxed and at home. The service was excellent, too. We had a server that was beyond friendly. A local musician, they all are in Nashville, she was kind, friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu, and made good recommendations for us. And the food all came out nice and timely. As for the food, it was the best part. We ordered way too much, because it all sounded so good. We started off with the sausage cheddar biscuits. Served with an apple jam, four sliders filled with sausage and sharp cheddar. It was pull-apart style, a lot of fun, and every component was packed with flavor. We then moved on to the dish of the night, the duck wings / spiced honey. Ummm, just look at those things. Tender, crispy duck wings, tasted so good, so unctuous. And they're also swimming in a spiced honey for dipping or drizzling. I was shocked. I could have just eaten a dozen of these and be happy. For my entree, I got the prime beef ny strip (served with grilled onion, herb butter, and family-style mashed potatoes). This thing was cooked to a perfect medium rare. A nice char on the outside, perfect seasoning, just an A+ dish. These people know how to do steak. I also got to try the short rib / delicata squash, baby turnip, date compote. Dude. Melt in your mouth, falling apart off the fork, very tender and delicious. Loved the unique accompaniments. The earthy sweetness from the compote went well with the short rib, and the squash was a unique squash, which made the plate very pleasing to the eye. We ended the meal with a bang, too, the fried apple pie / miso caramel, vanilla bourbon ice cream. This is a very good dessert! The hot dessert with the cold ice cream, the bubble caramel, the crispy pie dough, the ooey gooey apple pie filling, it was just luxury. The touch of bourbon adds another level, and the miso does, too. Don't fear the miso. You don't taste it. It just added a layer of umami. So good. Overall, this was wow, one of those restaurants that makes me rethink all other five star ratings I've ever given. I wanna give this place six stars. I promise you, if I ever come to Nashville again, I will come back here. read more

Pros: Wow, ambiance was so cool. It was simultaneously like being inside of a giant warehouse and being in a nightclub built for affluent vampires. I can't explain why, but it's true. Service was really cool. Our server was just the coolest chick. Very friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. She helped us pick a good meal. And the food, also wow. Everything was cooked so well, was packed with so much flavor, and the dessert was one of the best I've ever had. Cons: Absolutely none. We had a pretty good experience at 5th and Taylor. This restaurant has pretty mixed reviews from various of people. The drinks were good, food was pretty decent but mostly I liked the decor. You just can't go wrong sitting at the bar at 5th and Taylor. We were able to snag bar seats on NYE around 8 pm. It was the 3rd stop on our pub crawl. We shared the meatloaf sandwich which is EPIC! With the mashed potatoes, it's so much food! It would be a fun appetizer for 4 people. It's pretty rich and filling, so just a few bites is plenty. Such a great vibe here! read more

We came here for a family dinner for 6 on a Tuesday night. They have a small parking area but we found easy street parking (at least on a weekday). We had reservations at 6pm & were sat immediately. Staff was friendly & attentive the whole night. The quality of the food was good. Exactly what I'd expect for a more casual upscale restaurant. We ordered the bacon wrapped quail, tomato pie, shishito peppers, halibut, scallops, ny strip, grasshopper pie, brown butter chocolate torte, & ice cream. Entrees are served with a shareable side of mashed potatoes which were really good. One note is the food took quite a long time from the time of ordering to get it on the table. We waited 30-45 minutes. Even the desserts took 15-20 mins to come out.. Overall, it was a good experience. Recommend for a more upscale date night if you want a nicer ambience with a safe American-based menu. Just make sure you have the evening to wait. read more

Great dinner here tonight with coworkers. We each started with a few cocktails and then decided to split some appetizers. While I skipped the tomato pie, my coworkers said it was delicious. I thought the zucchini fritters, sausage cheddar biscuits, and apple jam and cheddar biscuits were all amazing. Even though I was tempted by the halibut, I tried the mixed grill instead. While the pork tenderloin and lamb sausage were both delicious, the tri-tip was a little tough. One friend got the tri tip and loved it, while two others got the fried chicken, and both agreed it was wonderful. For dessert. I had the brown butter chocolate tort, which was amazing, while one other got the pear sorbet, and another tried the strawberry shortcake. All desserts were wonderful. The mushrooms and brussel sprouts were wonderful. My coworkers said the beets were delicious as well. Service by Eric was prompt, attentive, and friendly. Another great foodie restaurant during my visit to Nashville and another Yelp find. I highly recommend reservations until you're okay with snagging a stool at the bar, otherwise plan ahead. The ambiance is a bit dark offering an open concept floor plan equipped with an open kitchen which is my personal fave. The service was top notch. We were suggested personal menu favorites along with guest favorites providing us with pretty good direction on what to order. The duck wings to start are a must order. Holy flavorful and plenty to go around to share. Another must order to start is the cheddar biscuits. Sounds so simple but there was nothing simple about these. Another table favorite. All the steak entrees were cooked to perfection as recommended by the chef and the scallops were another favorite. There isn't anything I would change regarding our experience dining at 5th & Taylor. We made a reservation for dinner here on a Saturday evening in January for 8:15pm through Resy. We were visiting from California and were worried it was going to be hard to find reservations. We were greeted by friendly staff and our table wasn't ready yet but it was bustling inside and at the bar, nice vibe and a pretty hip spot for American food. We got a bunch of different cocktails, I really liked the old fashioned and my friends got fruity and tequila cocktails. We started with the wedged salad that had a really nice presentation. The sausage and cheddar biscuits, raw hamachi that came with Plaintain chips, and duck legs. All a lot for a group of 4. For our main entrees we got the grilled Mahi mahi, short rib, wagyu/Delmonico steak. And we got some extra sides-- mashed potatoes, mushrooms, and creamed spinach. Service was great and we got the fried apple pie for dessert and had a surprise birthday which was ice cream! Such a nice vibe and great meal! First time in, wanted to try out a new spot. Food was good, however I wouldn't have ordered the same appetizers/side again. Service was disappointing, it was drastically different compared to the couple sitting next to us. Didn't feel welcome. We did wait a long time for a weeknight before 7pm (from the moment we sat, tried to order and wrapping up) Considered leaving before ordering. We were not checked up on or talked to much. Majority of the time we had to flag her down quickly before she left the table next to us. Our waitress didn't seem attentive to us. Our service was more of a 2, our whole experience was maybe a 3. Our service experience brought this down. The only person who was genuinely kind to us was one of the food runners. I'm glad this place is a fan favorite for most, just not for us. read more

Came here for a business dinner with about 11 others. The service was immaculate and the mocktail I had was great. Our waiter was incredibly informative. We ordered many different apps including the best food I've ever had tomato pie. It was pure magic and as someone from Southern California it was nothing I've ever tried before. The only con I have is we ordered so many apps that no one came close to finishing entrees but everything was so delicious. Would come back when I'm in town again. read more

I've been to 5th & Taylor three times now, twice for their Mother's Day brunch and most recently for dinner. Every time I am impressed. The service is great, the ambiance is elevated but casual enough to feel comfortable. Food is incredible. For an appetizer we enjoyed the tomato pie, fresh and light! Our entrees were the beer can chicken and short rib, both filling and flavorful and come with mashed potatoes. I don't know what they put in the mashed potatoes but I dream about having them again! For dessert we got the fried apple pie with vanilla ice cream and loved every bite! One of the best desserts I've ever had. I am sure I will be back soon. Of note, there is only street parking but I've never struggled to find a spot within a short walk. I also recommend making a reservation. read more

My colleagues and I were in Nashville for a conference, and for the majority of the nights we decided to explore Nashville food offerings outside of the hotel. After skimming some best-of lists and consulting Yelp, we thought 5th and Taylor looked good as a upscale-ish option (especially when compared to the barbecue and hot chicken spots we were checking out). That being said, we made our way over to Germantown our second night in Nashville for some dinner. 5th and Taylor has an unassuming exterior, but the inside tells a different story. The restaurant is gorgeous - it's large with super high ceilings and a very open floor plan. Lots of windows bring in a ton of natural light, and the greenery throughout the space really adds to the aesthetics. The menu is mostly New American and Southern, and the restaurant describes the food as being Sunday dinner. I can't comment on how true that is since the Southern experience isn't mine, but we *were* there on a Sunday so if anything it fit the bill. We started with drinks - I had the Nightmare on Gin Lane which was smooth and tasty. We decided to start with a couple of apps - namely the bacon-wrapped quail, chicken skin biscuits, and duck liver mousse. I enjoyed all of them, with my favorite surprisingly being the duck liver mousse. It was smooth, topped with raspberry jam, and paired with toasted brioche. I love raspberry, and while it seemed like an odd combo, it worked well. The chicken skin biscuits were also interesting - I wasn't sure what to expect (were the skins going to be baked into the dough?), and what was served was almost a sandwich with the skin in the middle. They were pretty good, but in my opinion sounded more interesting than they actually were. For my main I got the meatloaf sandwich - this was served on toasted brioche, paired with an aioli on the side, and accompanied by sweet potato fries. The sandwich was pretty good - the bread was super thick but it was light which made off for the perceived off ratio. The aioli was really tasty, and the sweet potato fries were thick which helped maintain their integrity (we all know sweet potato fries tend to get really mushy). The fries were a little too big and thick for me - I couldn't finish them but the meatloaf was good and I thought this was a solid dish overall. We also ordered sides of Brussels sprouts, beets, and mushrooms. I tried the first two which were both great. Finally, our meals came with family-style mashed potatoes which were excellent - super smooth and creamy; it was some of the best mash I've had in a long time. Service was good, everyone was friendly and food came out at a good pace. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at 5th and Taylor - the food was tasty and the atmosphere was on point. I think this a solid option for dinner in Nashville and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. read more

The moment you walk in, you're struck by how beautiful the space is as it feels like stepping into a refined art gallery tucked inside an old warehouse. The massive horse statue in the center and the antique paintings throughout give it such a unique, elevated vibe while still feeling warm and welcoming. The drinks were fantastic and well-crafted, definitely worth starting your evening with one. For food, we tried several dishes such as the shishito peppers, mashed potatoes, and the beer can chicken, and everything was spot on. I went here for a birthday dinner with my family! We made reservations a few days before and they got us in! When we arrived they even had a sign that said happy birthday on our table, which was super nice! The food was absolutely delicious. We got a couple things to share and there was more than enough food! The entree came with family style mashed potatoes that were delicious! Our waiter was so welcoming and kind as well! The tomato pie was kind of like a pizza in a deep pie crust - lots of tomato and cheesy goodness. The chicken skin biscuits were probably my favorite. Slightly spicy with a very crispy fried piece of skin and these amazing buttery biscuits, served with a slightly spicy sauce too! I ordered the mixed grill as my entree, which was lamb, pork, and beef tritip. The beef was probably my favorite in terms of flavor although it was a bit chewy/tough and probably somewhat overcooked. It was served with a chimichurri sauce and this amazing creamy squash puree to balance out the meat, yum! read more

What a great fancy restaurant to stumble upon! The vibe here is amazing, at night the lights are dim and almost feels quiet even with the place full. Food was outstanding. You MUST get the Brussel Sprouts and Mashed Potatoes for the table to share. Entrees were all excellent, but the Beef Cheek Pot Roast melted in your mouth. It's very hidden from the outside, and you definitely can find parking in the neighborhood. The ambience is amazing, and hopefully, when you make the reservation, you ask to sit in the main room, or you'll be seated in the galley, which is separate from the main dining hall.
