Where to start? We had reserved a move with this company over a month before our move date. Two days before the move, they requested a video walkthrough to go over everything we needed move. During the zoom meeting, we reviewed every piece of furniture, every room, and discussed our dogs and cats with them. The morning of the move; three men showed up and began work. About an hour later, I arrived at the move location and was immediately greeted by one of the movers. He told me that the other two men refused to work and that he was doing all the work himself. Indeed; from that moment on, the other two guys never left the rear of their truck while they talked with each other. The third guy Ask me to call his manager and ask for another man. He said he couldn't do the entire move by himself. So I talked to the manager and he informed me that he had no other people to send. He said that the two men had called him and told him they were afraid for their safety to be in the house as one was allergic to cats, and one said he developed a rash after walking into the house. The third guy said they just didn't want to work. I fired the team right then and there, and the manager agreed to refund my deposit (which he still has not yet done). The two useless men stood by and made the third guy take everything out of the truck and back into the house. The third guy was disgusted, saying that the house was no where near as dirty or messy as other houses he had recently done. He came to work expecting to earn a living wage that day. Instead, the two other guys literally stole an entire day's wages from him. The very next weekend, we had Black Tie Movers out to move us with less that a single days notice. They did the entire move in less than 6 hours and they restored our faith in moving companies. read more

Wow, did this company come through for us. Just four days later Davie and Eddie arrived at the apartment on schedule. The 6th Man team were incredible for my move this month. They were on time, professional, very efficient and took great care of my belongings. They shrink wrapped everything and tackled a very unfortunate set of stairs with ease. I had a 3 bedroom apartment moving into a house and they were able to move everything under the estimated time as well. The cost was lower than any other estimate I got, and they did a fantastic job. This is our second time using 6th Man Movers. Both experiences have been great and way better than expected each time. They were very fast in loading and unloading but still took extra care with our belongings. We were quoted a 6 hour move this most recent move and they finished everything in 3 hours and we were charged a very fair price for the amount of work they did. The team was helpful and responsive in coordinating the move. The actual move was bad. They broke a ton of stuff. Tossed things every which way into boxes including framed pics. They almost neglected to pack entire closets full of stuff. They did not accurately label any of the boxes. One vintage chair was completely broken. There were scratches All over furniture, and when i pointed them out the mover tried to pretend they were "teething marks" from a child. They broke a vanity. Unloading took them forever. They seemed to be very high. I asked them to put a bunch of boxes in one garage and they put them elsewhere so I later had to move everything myself. I would not recommend them and I would not hire them again. It was also exorbitantly expensive. For the amount I paid it would have been better to pay more and not end up with broken and damaged stuff. read more

Hired this team to help move large shelving and inventory. We reviewed where everything should go, I oversaw the first several loads of items. The moment I wasn't watching every move they put shelving and huge racking in the wrong locations. Several of them I didn't catch until they were gone. I would not work with this company again. Our family booked 6th Man to do our packing and moving based on their excellent reviews and organized pre-move communication. After our move, I have no idea how they have any positive reviews. They showed up at the tail end of their arrival window each day and left within two hours to eat. At least one packer showed up smelling like weed, which wasn't a problem until there were other problems. The packers did not have the correct materials to pack and most of our items were carelessly thrown into boxes. Items on hangers were dumped into boxes. Several pieces of furniture were damaged. Communication on packing and moving days was very poor. Our job took twice as long as the original estimate - and all of the movers blamed the packers. Several of our furniture items were reassembled incorrectly (or not at all). We've unpacked everything and all of our A/C adapter power cords for computers, TVs, and other items are missing (stolen?). Any single one of these issues would have been OK - but there were so many problems that came to light on day two that it made for a VERY stressful move. DO NOT book them. read more

This is a mixed review because I booked 6th man movers for my boyfriend as well as for myself. One move on Thursday, one on Friday. The crew that moved my boyfriend on Thursday did a fantastic job. He lived in a 2 bedroom apartment on a 2nd floor and also had a garage, packed full. There was one stop in between, to drop off items and pick up items, before getting to our final destination. The crew was efficient, polite, and quick. His total move was around 4 hours. I called that day to brag on this crew and requested them for my move the next day. Sadly I did not get that crew but instead 2 new guys. My apartment was also 2 bedrooms, first floor, without couches or large furniture. I was originally quoted it would take 3-4 hours. Both guys were very nice, but even mentioned they were new. They did not bring any tools to disassemble my 2 beds. (my tools were packed so we could not use those). They could not get the beds apart so we waited almost 2 hours for another member of the staff to show up and give them a simple drill. Fast forward 8 hours later, my move was completed. I was so angry that not only was my entire day wasted by the slowness of the crew, the manager barely wanted to discount my move even though he was aware there were almost 3 hours spent just waiting on a tool and the crew taking a lunch. The manager suggested to save money, i should not tip the crew. Which was outrageous to me. I did of course tip them, but was appalled the manager cared to little about his crew. They did the best the could but were not set up for success and given literally no tools to complete the job. I am in the apartment business and this could have been an opportunity for me to refer this company to my over 1200 residents, but sadly, they will never have my repeat business again. read more

Great service from scheduling through the move. They touched base several times in the weeks leading up to the move to make sure everything was on schedule. The lead mover called when he was on his way, and he arrived when scheduled. Both of the gentleman working the job were friendly and conscientious. They were extra careful with the more vulnerable items securing them in blankets and plastic. They wrapped everything in plastic - I wasn't expecting that. The wrapping added extra time and cost that I wasn't expecting, so plan for that in your schedule and your budget. But the service provided was excellent! read more

Update 2019! This an update for my second move with 6th Men in 2019 and I was very pleased with the high level of service! I called to push the move one day earlier on the same day of move and they did their best to help and was very professional and worked very hard and efficient. First move 2017 I moved few times for my job nation wide but this time I needed a local move in Nashville and I called 6th Man Movers and was very impressed with their level of proficiency from the beginning. On the move day Max and Conor team came to my apartment and both were very efficient and proficient, the whole move was done in two hours. I did have everything ready in boxes but they had to close it with tap and carry the other heavy items. So unbelievably disappointed and unhappy. I have done cross country moves where crews come in and pack, move and unpack my apartment. This time around I decided to move all of my stuff myself except my furniture. I moved 0.6 miles down the road and had 1 Area rug 5 boxes Day bed Desk Lamp Chair King bed (only a head board attached) Dog crate Credenza 1 TV Sofa Plant 2 outdoor chairs, bean bag, side table and small rug THIS TOOK THEM ALMOST 6 hours!! The day before myself and 2 female friends moved an entire 10ft U-Haul by ourselves in less than 5 hours! This company was recommended to me by a friend for local moves and when I called they quoted me for 2 hours. I listed off the items that would be moved since it was just furniture and Erik (moving specialist) said they could get that done quick, no problem. I paid $808!! Such bullshit and an absolute total rip off. they literately sent the operations manager out to help... that's how slow these guys were taking for FURNITURE! read more
