I figured why not, and told her yes. I looked at the digital display to see what the total was and noticed $3+ for Pringles and $2+ for the coke with a $1 discount for the combo special. I asked her why the discount was only $1 (since this equates to a $2+ Pringles can), and she repeated herself ... 3 times. I get it, it's friggin $2 and I could have just purchased this and been done with it (absorbing the $2), but principle outweighed my need for 125 total grams of carbs. I remained respectful, as did she. I'm just speculating, but I think this combo is actually "buy a Coke Zero and get a Pringles can for $1 off" instead of "buy Coke Zero and get a Pringles can for $1." I'll write it off as an honest mistake; the cashier looked hardworking and I don't think I was being purposefully ripped off for all of $2....but one could figure that those $2 can pile up if other people are not as careful with their math.

Instead of waiting in the hot Texas sun outside a glorified rabbit hutch, now you can go inside an air conditioned mini mart to buy your snacks, drinks, pay for gas, or get your Lotto tickets. It's really nice inside. The new pumps are cool, and have tap pay with your credit card. The screens are easy to read. This is a nice improvement over what was there before.

My friends and I stopped for gas and snacks for our road trip to San Padre Island, and even though it wasn't breakfast, I figured I'd do brunch with these popular breakfast tacos that the locals stop by for and recommend. They had a special for two tacos and a 64 oz drink, and I found just the one taco to be quite filling. They ran out of the filling I wanted, so I was offered half of one and half of another filling. I highly recommend this combination! Chicken and grilled onions and peppers filled my warmed flour tortilla wrap. These aren't the best tacos I've ever had, but they're a quick and "hand"y meal for your road trip. I'd pick these any day over Slim Jim's and beef jerky. And, they are only to be found at your local Stripes gas station.

There is easy access off and on the expressway. They have lots of parking and room to maneuver for both cars and 18 wheelers. Though, it is not a full truck stop as there are no showers, nor a truckers' lounge. It is nicely landscaped and looks clean. There is a main entrance on both the east and west side of the building and parking all around. The parking lot is well lit at nights. As most Stripes, this one has a Laredo Taco kitchen and offers their famous "breakfast tacos" (burritos) with freshly made flour tortillas and many filling options. For the price, it's hard to beat for a hearty breakfast. They also serve lunch burritos and plates. The store sells lots of drinks, both cold and hot, snacks, and an assortment of basic groceries, first aide items, over-the-counter meds, car stuff like oil and fluids, ice, etc. I haven't seen the bathrooms, but I assume since it's a relatively new build it's in good working order and nice. The rest of the store seems well maintained. The clerks seem efficient and were able to calculate how to give me correct change when the bill came to 19.27 and I gave them a twenty dollar bill and two pennies... Their gas prices are a tad higher than just down the road at Murphy Gas, but after all, it's a convenience store.
