This probably qualifies as my home 7-Eleven. Interestingly enough, I consider myself something of an ambassador to 7-Eleven stores. I will take any opportunity to visit a 7-Eleven, not so much because I have an interest in their business model or worry much about what products they might be offering in the store (generally, it's the same stuff) ... It's just that for the most part, I cannot deny the call of a decent cup of coffee, and maybe a lotto scratcher. There are several different employees of the store, and I believe most of them are from the same family. The lady/matriarch of the family is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. We always have managed to talk about her family, her kids in school, and over the years, I have heard the tale of them growing up. The older gentleman who works there is a man of few words, but for the most part has always been rather nice. There was one episode when he was rude to my wife in front of a delivery man, but I made my chagrin clear with him, boycotted his store for a year or two, and then we kissed and made up. So to speak. There is also a fellow who works there in the wee hours of the morning who they have recently hired. As with many of the graveyard shift guys at 7 Eleven he's sort of missing something in the human relations department. No matter. This place has the distinction of always having fresh coffee, and its location is close enough to many other places I frequent. The surrounding neighborhood is pretty nice, so it doesn't have much of a sketch factor. Nearby Pasadena high school does send some students this way after school gets out, but for the most part, everyone there is well behaved. The owners' children attended PHS, but I believe they have all graduated. All told, this is a pretty rocksolid 7-Eleven store. A small parking lot, hey curves next-door, and a McDonald's across the street (yeah you can laugh about that) also add a giggle factor to visiting here. read more

Paying customers should be treated as is and this establishment lacks a consideration for their value on its customers once you step through these doors. I firmly believe a paying customer is always right but that is not their policy here. Quoted from the lady who runs this business " have more consideration for my business" because I asked for cash back on two separate purchases. Anywhere else they would have no grief with allowing two purchases given that the minimum cash back is set to only 10 dollars . I can not believe how I was looked at and talked to for having tried to increase your profits with purchasing two separate items ! 7/11 should reiterate on what you can and can't do on the behalf of customers because I don't believe that is a policy or rule here that I have ever heard of given I shop at many other locations read more

The clerk that works overnights is a smartass. They had a cooler of Gatorade. One for Monster, etc. I'm looking for PowerAde because I am recovering from cardiac arrest. Every store has a different setup. After looking for 5 minutes, I asked the clerk. Instead of simply saying "No", he responded with "Do you see PowerAde with the Gatorade?" This is the third time a shit response was given. They don't care if you shop there or not. So why bother? A 'yes' or 'no' is a hell of a lot nicer and easier than belittling me or making me feel like a fool. Life is too short. These guys suck. Anywhere but 7-Eleven read more

Five Stars for an Awesome Family! Can't write much about 7-11's, because to me, like to many of you, they're are all the same. We don't really peruse the aisle as we would a supermarket or something similar. When it comes to 7-11's, we know what we want, we go in there, grab it, and leave.. it's always a simple shopping experience at any 7-11's. This is why I gave this particular one 5 stars: The family that runs the joint. Always kind. They make small talk (it's actually sincere and not contrived), especially if you're a regular. I'm one of those regulars. I buy coffee and a Sunday Times before work, or drop in to buy a quick drink with some snacks, or a refreshing Slurpee on those hot summer days (you know what I'm talkin' 'bout). There hasn't been one time I have seen a patron have a personal conversation with one of the workers, or smiles and laughs are exchanged when walking in... they're just very personable, down home folks. Their kids can't be anymore polite. I do wish they always had the hazelnut coffee available more often. I usually have to settle for the Colombian Bold, black, no sugar, thank you. This place fills it's purpose, as do all 7-11's. It's the service that separates them. If you're headed up to hike Eaton Canyon, or just leaving after a run around the canyon, drop by for a cold bottled water... you'll know why neighborhood folks love talkin' to these folks, and why they are such a fixture in this scenic part of beautiful Pasadena. read more

NO, it's one of real nice & clean 7-11's I've seen, & the owners are always there with pride, sometimes the whole family (Dad usually plays solitaire in the back room) But what I like the most, it's their PIZZA, I know, I know, don't laugh, but for $5.50 it's the best pizza round (Sausage, Pepperoni & Ham) but you just gotta ask for extra crispy. Now sometimes I even add my own stuff before putting it in my home oven for an extra few minutes, onions & goat's feta cheese maybe, or even a few cut slices of Basturma, I even tried it with a few thin slices of smoked salmon, it's just what the Dr ordered ... The owners were the ones who went out of their way to establish a relationship with us and get to know us. I live right around the corner and stop here frequently. The family that runs it, is top notch. Friendly, helpful and quality. They have there kids in there helping and they are nice and friendly as well. This year, when the wind knocked out all of our power here in town, I went by to get batteries for my flashlight. Their power went down as well and had no cash register to ring me up, so they told me to take the batteries and come back and pay when electricity came back on.
