Worst "cajun" food I've ever had. Craving a gumbo and it didn't even slightly resemble gumbo. There's tomatoes and oregano. Boudin balls were just as bad. Do not bother trying, I can tell it's not just a bad batch, it's a terrible recipe. Also it was 30 minutes later than told. We had to go get something else Bc it was inedible. read more

Let me start by saying the food is 4+ stars. I always get the Duo and it's always good and fresh. The service and online ordering is a 1 at the most. This is twice I have ordered on line long before pick up, received the confirmation number only to arrive and be told they don't have my order and to start over. Yesterday, it was "Oh, sometimes the system will send the order to another store". Then FIX the system. I reordered, she rang it up wrong. Got home and what was suppose to be mild certainly was not. Walked in and the place smelled like sharpie marker, or like a overwhelming amount of cleaning chemicals. I order fried tenders and 3 boudin balls and in came out good BUT my girlfriend ordered the 4 protein rice and it tasted exactly like the place smelled, neither of us could eat the rice because it literally tasted like sharpie marker. I'm gonna start off by saying the food was amazing!!! We ordered 2 Big Easy Combo's, a shrimp Poboy, and a Duo Delight with a pound of crawfish. Everything was in the bag! The service was my only issue. They were not very customer friendly. When we walked in, there was another customer disputing about an order that she never received. They girl at the register seemed very confused on what was going on. I was asking some questions about the menu but never received a direct answer. I've been patronizing 7 Spices for about two months and have never had a problem with my order untill today. I walked in and placed my order with .5 pounds of shrimp 1 pound of crab clusters 3 potatoes and 1 corn that was written on the black chalkboard for a total of $19.41 when I got home it was short 1 cluster when I called the young Hispanic girl on the phone said that's wrong. Mann where do I start off, I was driving down 45 one day & spotted the sign & told myself I'm a stop there one day I love Cajun food, so today I decided to try it. I placed my order online the seafood gumbo w/ crawfish & the boudin balls w/ fried rice. When I got to the restaurant the girl at the register was dragging her ass w/ the dude in front of me, she finally get to me I tell her my name for my order, she said "you had the gumbo w/ the tenders & fried rice right??" told her no I had gumbo & boudin balls w/ fried rice. She said in the system it said tenders, didn't feel like arguing so I told her if I had to wait then just take it off & give me the gumbo. I took the gumbo & went back to my car & looked at the email & it clearly had the boudin balls & not tenders on it, I went back inside & showed her the email & she saw the boudin balls on the order, she then went back to the rack & saw the boudin balls & gave it to me in addition to the tenders & fried rice I didn't order for free. So I said fuck it I'll eat it here in the car on the other side of the parking lot, opened up the gumbo, looked nothing like the picture, eat it anyway(I know I'm a be sick later) that was a terrible excuse for gumbo, smh next ate the boudin balls, shit was equally as terrible as the gumbo, I looked at the tenders & fried rice & learned my lesson & gave that shit to a cat I saw sitting on the curb & hoped it enjoyed it better than I did, luckily the price ended up being $5 & not the $11 it originally was smh, I say all this to say, if I could rate the place negative stars I would, smh read more

I lived in Houston for around four years and thought that I had to let my seafood go but somehow, I happened to walk into 7 Spice. I awaken every morning, wondering how my week will go but become optimistic. Days went by, and now it's Friday; I need to decide what I am eating. My usual four proteins, shrimp, sausage, chicken, and crawfish on fried rice, is worth waiting. Seasoned to perfection, and don't worry, you can eliminate either protein mentioned. Covid-19 has brought about unorthodox ways to attack life, where we eat, and how we work. The only way to receive your food from 7 Spice is to call in or order in person, only takeout. For this reason, I call in when I am about 10 minutes away, just clocked out, and begin to drive from work. Shhh! The phone is ringing. "May I help you?" Yes, I would like to order a four-protein plate to go. "Okay, anything else?" Blackened chicken salad, along with a sweet tea. I know what you're thinking, a salad is not seafood, but they make one of the lowest costs and delicious salads I have ever tasted. You could choose from various meat on your salad, but I usually get the blackened chicken salad, which comes with mixed greens, tomatoes, cheddar, croutons, and three chicken strips. Don't be alarmed, but the starters are pretty tasty, beginning with sweet potato fries or the three boudin balls. Seafood Friday has allowed me to obtain many meals from 7 Spice, presenting four-protein was just a starter to numerous choices to eliminate a taste along with hunger. Try the Head-on, or EZ Peel shrimp combo, seasoned with 7 Spice flavors and served with three potatoes and one corn on the cob. Don't stop now; add the half-pound snow crab combo or duo delight, giving you a taste of both, quenching any desire obtained from the mere sight after the seasoned aroma infiltrated. I am not going any further until you get your day, six options available. Call it Seafood Sunday or Catfish Thursday, don't care, leave Seafood Friday to me. Doesn't mean you can't order on that day, don't call it what I do. If there is still any doubt, order the King's platter, a pound of snow crabs, and a pound of EZ Peel shrimps served with three potatoes and one corn. Houston, we have a problem, "where is the Queen's platter?" Adding another platter could be as simple as asking. The Queen platter should have more than the King's platter; no offense, I have eight sisters who love seafood. Catfish Thursday will be battered and fried, adding sides placing the finishing touches. The sides consist of dirty rice, Cajun fried rice, corn, toast, coleslaw, fries, or a side salad. Flip Catfish Thursday and turn it into a Po boy combo, substituting chicken or shrimp, served with golden fries. Trust me; I didn't forget about the butterfly shrimp, ranging from a medium six to a large nine freshly battered and fried. I would ask you to try the crawfish deep-fried to end my selections, remembering you had a taste for something good. Don't forget your mask, or use DoorDash, and bring an appetite. read more

This restaurant is the worst imitation of Cajun food I have ever eaten at anywhere in Texas and Louisiana. The worst Etouffee, so bad you can't even call it Etouffee, Gumbo is File` Gumbo, which is old time Gumbo that is thickened with Ground Sassafras leaves called File` and has a very distinct bold flavor. What they call Dirty Rice and Fried Rice, OMG not even close, the worse rice dish I have ever had in Houston ever, absolutely terrible. Fried fish and shrimp, are ok did not find the 7 Spice on either. Louisiana Fried Chicken and Seafood is soooo much better. Just try both yourself and I guarantee you will agree with me and never go back to this place for food unless you live under a bridge close to this place and can't make the drive. We will never come back to this place. Go to the freezer department at Kroger for Cajun food better than this food. Maybe their boiled seafood is good, haven't tried that but after wasting $47 on Fried Fish, Shrimp, Gumbo and Fake Etouffee. I am scarred to try anything else and waste more money. read more

The boiled seafood is flavorful and cooked to perfection. The rice is always mushy and the customer service is a 2 because they hire young girls who giggle and play all day. Always check your order before you leave. read more
