WiLD 98.7 was the first radio station I listened to when I moved to Florida. The station had a…read morestrong hold on many people in the Tampa Bay area and still does. Playing mainly Hip-Hop music, the DJs all party throughout the Tampa Bay area and are like mini-celebs. The station almost died a few years ago and they kept receiving eons of callers begging them not to die. They had a huge farewell concert that earned them so much money that they were able to stay. Now they have that concert every year called "The Last Damned Show" and also have a spring event called "WiLD Splash". The morning show had it's moments and one day they actually made me laugh when they cracked a joke about Ashlee Simpson changing her hairstyle every day. I think they called her a "crack head" or something, completely uncalled for but funny. They mostly the latest hip-hop songs and are ahead of the trend of other cities radio stations, having a connection with many bay area and other rappers. The only reason I'm not a super huge fan of them is their commercial sessions can last really long so I'll end up changing the station and not changing it back. Whenever I go clubbing at a hip-hop club and want to know what songs I heard, I can usually find them on this radio station or their website.

They try to get listeners by coining "Without The Rap", but yet they still play songs where artists Rap on the song. This station is no different than 100.7, 104.7, 94.9 and any others in the Bay area. I wish they knew the concept of integrity and stay the course. It was a nice breathe of fresh air to listen to 98.7/94.1 with the smooth jazz sound showing love to local great Eric Darius.

Delilah has all the lovers tuned in, and she seems like such a sweet woman, always praying that things get better and a source of hope to listeners. She always picks a good song to go along with peoples current situations. They also have straight runs of non-stop music while you work, which is great considering how pervasive commercials are on other stations. The morning show is decent, but nothing too special just like any other show.
