Upon completion of the work , there were still concerns which were not properly addressed or acknowledged resulting in having to take the bike elsewhere to fix the problem . After reporting these concerns there was no accepting of responsibility of the part they had played in contributing towards the ongoing concerns and the bike deemed "unsafe"

In the past these guys have stocked all manner of bike and bits but these days they appear to have limited their stock to mainly Avanti and Scott. There are others but in the road range these are the main fill. The mechanics here are pretty good and the shop has been part of the Brisbane cycling scene for years. Price wise these guys are the same as most shops, nothing out of the ordinary.

I'll admit I'm being serenaded by Epic Cycles kick-a$# selection of bikes that would have people shaking their head and muttering "filthy hipster" under their breath. Thankfully my latest trip to Epic Cycles was to visit their service department. The guys were straight-shooting, easy to talk to and got the job done efficiently. Of course, in having my hand-me-down bike fixed I now need to learn to ride again. I think I'll be back to Epic to acquire some mad knee and elbow pads.

These guys do a great range of bikes, from mountain bikes, road racers, kids bikes, the popular fixie (so hot right now...) even portable folding cycles! They stock some of the more highly regarded brands like Specialized, Cannondale and Bianchi. I've got a road bike myself and have gone to Epic for a service before. For the uninitiated this might sound a little over-the-top, but modern bikes are quite sophisticated machines and require a bit of TLC. Their most basic tune-up is $49, but at the other end of the spectrum there's the 'Epic service', a complete overhaul of your entire bike, from derailleur to brakes, which has a hefty $239 price-tag. It might sound like a lot (hey, it's more than some car services) but it could be a good idea if you have a particularly advanced bike or are planning a big ride. The staff are really friendly and approachable; keen to chat even if you just want to have a browse. Roll by here if you are thinking of buying a new bike or just need accessories or a tune-up for your current ride.

However, I'm really disappointed in the quality of the boots themselves. This is probably my 7th pair of Docs and my 3rd pair of Jadon Max boots, so I'm very familiar with the brand and what to expect. However, this is my first pair of the vegan version, and the quality just doesn't compare to my previous pairs. I've only had them for around 8 months and don't wear them every day, yet the sole has already developed a large horizontal crack (around 10cm long). It's quite significant, and it honestly feels like it's only a matter of time before the entire sole rips off. For the price, I expected them to last much longer, so unfortunately I don't feel the quality matches the cost.

The first thing I noticed on entering the store is not only do they sell bikes, but you can hire them too. This is a nice option if you want something a bit better than the CityCycle. The staff were friendly and not pushy, and it didn't take long for me to walk out with a swish new light, on sale too.

I was after something that would suit urban environments while remaining sturdy, and they had a great range of bikes. They stock all kinds (from cruisers to mountain bikes) and accessories (biking gear and helmets, etc). But I wouldn't come here if you're after a fix gear bike because the store is more focused on biking as a sport. I test rode A LOT of bikes while there and the staff were really patient with me. When I still couldn't find the right fit, one of the staff suggested I try a men's bike, which was something I hadn't considered, but worked perfectly! I've since brought my bike back for regular services ($89 for every six months), and I've never had any problems with it.

He spent a lot if time sizing the bike up to suit my body and provided advice on riding styles and also how to adjust the bike in the future. So it's great to see that after years of only being able to get Sass and Bide in selected retailers/department stores, a few stand-alone shops have sprung up. This is my fave for the simple reason that it's the most convenient for me to pop into. And I love the huge white space, with the main focus of the decore being the beautiful, eclectic clothes on the rails. Which, currently, have an ethnic vibe with loud, but fabulous patterns, amazing shapes with statement-making accessories like neck, arm and waist cuffs and divine handbags. I'll forever grateful to S&B for giving style-starved Brisbaneites some hope that things would change. And they did.

Today was a good day to go by and select unique gifts over stores would not have or have limited selections. The daytime staff is a lot more friendly and conversational than the evening crew, probably due to age and maturity. Overall, I like the service, especially during the morning hours and would recommend people visiting during these hours.
