9 Round has been a Godsend for me. I travel interstate so much currently, and I have a very sedentary job. Needless to say, I have to sit A LOT. 9 Round has come to my rescue with an open schedule, great workouts, great coaching if you come when they are available, and a clean and efficient environment. My life is so unpredictable right now, but they are always there to support and encourage when I need it most. I've tried everything to lose weight and nothing stuck...until now. 9 Round of Valencia CA 9 Round is set up for all levels of ability and experience. so you can modify your routine to suit your personal limitations and challenges and still get a good workout. 30 minutes is doable for me. The very flexible opening hours is very convenient. The Trainers are friendly and helpful. As of this review, I've been going almost a year and my strength and flexibility is so much better. I've dropped a little over 40 Lbs so far. All my numbers are better (BP, Glucose, etc) My personal physician is always impressed with my progress and return to good health. and A few closing things: Videoscreens show you exactly what you are supposed to do at each of the 9 stations (though the coaches are always happy to jump in and help) the workout changes a bit every day. In over 250 workouts so far, it's never quite the same twice. Keeps it from getting boring. The Challenge of the Week (AKA CHOW) is always new and a good sweat builder. You wear monitors which track your progress on a large screen, keeping track of your heart rate, calories burned, etc. You also Get a progress e-Mail after eery session and a monthly summary. Good 1 on 1 interaction with the trainers a few times per session (if you schedule your visits correctly) There are other features available I haven't used yet, like diet advice , recipes and body scanning...but this may be of interest as well. Another victim of the contract and the false representations. I was told that even though they were signing me up for a year, if my life circumstance changed, they would let me cancel early. Low and behold, a few months in, I lost my job suddenly and asked to be let our of my contract. They delayed responding to the request for a couple months and then flat out refused. They continued to charge me despite my plea. Heartless. The workouts are usually ok and they do change, so I gave them an extra star for that. This is a franchise and they do try to sell you stuff all the time. They used to have a lot of staff, but now I think they have one over-worked staffer. Not surprisingly, everyone seems to quit. The TV screens are usually out of sync, which is annoying considering this is a TV-led workout. I could live with a lot of the negatives, but the heartless and sadistic ownership is a deal-breaker. I would not suggest signing onto any membership here. You are just a number and they will not let you quit without a lawsuit. read more

Approach with caution. Joined and it was good until it was not. Had to buy thier boxing gloves even though I had my own. Had to buy thier wraps and chest strap to work out. Moved our membership to a Active and Fit discount program offered though our medical insurance. That is when the problem started. They did not want to honor the discounted program and refused to accept it. Made several excuses and continued to bill our credit card for the full payments while also being charged from Active and Fit. Than Larry became very agressive with an email saying you are no longer welcome here. read more

No actual sparring is allowed, and no guests allowed either. Save your time and money and go to a gym like Crunch fitness where you get far more for far less. read more

Let me first say, I didn't sign up. I scheduled my meeting with Lethal Larry and for the next four days, Lethal Larry called me, texted me four times and even sent me a link to a personal YouTube video that he made confirming our appointment. The excessive contact was annoying and completely unnecessary. I directly spoke with him twice, and already confirmed my intent on the initial follow up call. I understand and appreciate doing a reminder call or text, but I was contacted six times after scheduling my appointment. I feel that the interaction turned into high pressure sales and less about me as a customer. This feedback is meant to be constructive and should not be an overall reflection of the gym or the coaching skills afforded by gym membership. I don't want to trying negatively influence potential customers who may not be subjected to the same intense pressure that I experienced. read more

Had a very bad experience I don't mind paying $195 a month but not for this supper small room only 30 min workout out and they only open for couple hours a day! Please be aware that they have a 30 day cancelation notice. Even though i told the trainers more than once to please make sure that I want to cancel next month and not be charged because I am leaving the city, I was still charged! The trainers said to not worry they will let the owner know for sure and that after 3 month contract is done they won't charge you unless you wanted to. When I talked to the owners about it they were thoughtless and inconsiderate. They didn't even want to understand what was going on and immediately said that their trainers are well trained and it would be highly unusual for any of our trainers to state that! The concept is cool. The workouts were simple and fine. However if you're skeptical about whether or not this gym is the right fit, they won't let you leave without collecting a few hundred dollars from you first. What left me with a bad taste in my mouth is how membership is handled. I signed up with 9Round sooo early on- and paid my deposit months before they opened their doors for business. I was excited to try it out- I even bought the fitness tracker from them and everything. A few weeks in, I ended up wanting to terminate my membership (because I preferred working out at the gym instead). I called to cancel, but wasn't able to make it in person to sign the form right away. So of course they still had me pay for 2 months more months. **Apparently I went in a couple days after the billing period started so I had to pay for that new month plus another full month. To top it off- i was moving out of state (I had proof) in a few weeks and didn't even have access to the gym anymore, so that was lame. I felt like paying for that the last month was just throwing my money in the trash. I get it- it's in the "fine print", I guess it just regret the choice to give this place a chance in the first place. I was one of the first to sign up- and that decision cost me over $300 and they felt great about that. The lady/manager/owner told me, with a great big smile, that there's nothing she'll do about me having pay for those extra months. Something about her lack of sympathy bothered me. Not every gym is a fit for everyone and that's truly understandable. I found myself wanting to try it out, after the first class you get the pitchy car salesman sign up, sign up, sign up speech. I signed up for the 3 month class, then and there I stated it was really difficult for me to make it to classes, but I would try etc. I had every intent to want to make it work but I'm a mama with a new baby at home, with some health issues, with no help, and I honestly could not make it to class. However I did sign up for 3 months- I paid for those 3 months after probably only attending a handful of times. Fault of my own. Due to the current climate, heightened pediatric cases of Covid, I truly can't compromise my baby's health and I figured I needed to cancel my membership after i finished paying for the 3 months I committed too. (9 Round Boxing also chooses not to comply with the indoor mask mandate, nor do they require this of their customers. It's their business so that's their choice- but after observing this and at the time during the rise of the delta variant I just couldn't help but wonder if they don't care so much about this then they probably don't care much about keeping their customers safe so who knows if they take other measures of safety like dis-infecting and so on. Not to mention the gym is very small). Anyways, they got my money, even though I never used their facilities more than 2-3 times maybe- but that's how memberships work right? Well, given that I can't go in person- I called, and called, and called and finally left a message after it being difficult to reach a person. In my message I stated I was attempting to reach someone to go over my membership and discuss cancellation. I didn't ever get a call back. But an email- that I didn't give them enough notice so I still owed money- okay hmmm- that clearly wasn't discussed. But I'm pretty sure you'll get the "it's in the fine print speech". Anyways I've called again- truly wanting to genuinely discuss this and my concerns with their lack of customer service and truly sympathy, especially in the times that we are in. Am I bitter that I paid for 3 months and threw my money away for no reason because I could just not use the gym because it felt unsafe? Yes- but that's my fault. I allowed myself to be coerced into signing on, but I did my due diligence in canceling my membership after my owed 3 months- so to say I still owe money when I haven't used their facility and truly avoiding contact with me shows the owners truly are just money hungry and really don't care about the individual, their customers, or the overall customer experience- unless your forking over the money that they want from you. read more

BUT 9 rounds is AMAZING!!! the trainers have been patient and encouraging.. but not overbearing.. it's the perfect mix!! 30 minutes people ( THATS IT!!!!) AND you are seriously dripping with sweat.. it's ACTUALLY FUN!! Why you ask??? The circuit is different everyday .. NO more boring treadmills.. NO more boring bikes.. You never know what you are going to walk into and that makes it exciting! Please know I was probably the most skeptical person out there because I'm overweight, and I was worried I couldn't hang but every time I go I get stronger and better.. I was really excited about joining this gym. The workouts and instructors where great. Unfortunately, the management is not so great. I got hurt on my first visit so could not come back for 2 weeks but then I got hurt again. I had all of 3 visits in 3 months. Rather than cancel my membership, I asked to simply put it on pause. A request they did not acknowledge for 2 weeks and of course they replied to me the day after they already took that months fee from my account. So here I had the membership paid for 2 months and used it 3x. After another few weeks my situation had not improved so I reached out yet again, and despite my attempts to negotiate and simply pause my account, they did not respond until a week later and demanded a Dr's note to let me out of the contract. So we went from my efforts to maintain the relationship to now, no option but cancel. I sent screenshots of my Dr's summary but that was not sufficient. In my 3 visits, I saw all of 4 other members, I should have paid attention to that and I should have read all the horrible reviews first and I could have found out all about Lethal Larry and his tactics to scam his members before I was duped into joining. One thing is for sure, a guy that treats his clients the way he does, will never be successful and won't last long. Karma is a beast! read more

What works for me is that their are no class times and you can just hop right in when the next 3 minute round starts. Since covid hit, this gym has changed the way it operates. One of the major selling points to me was no scheduled times for classes. Since covid hit, there are less people allowed to work out at a given time, so less "energy" in the gym workouts; you have to schedule your workout in advance and if you cancel or miss it, you are penalized with a fine. I have asked this company REPEATEDLY to cancel my 1 year contract. They have refused to do so and are now charging my account $25 a month, I assume indefinitely until I "finish my contract". I'm sorry, but the contract is null and void since you changed your operating procedures. I DID NOT agree to the change in terms of the operation of the gym. Had these been the rules in the beginning, I never would have signed up or agreed. The owners of the company are taking advantage of members and stealing money from them where they can with the "fees". My 1 year contract ended in December, they still say I have 4 more months left. How? The way they have handled this covid situation is horrendous. Had they just let me go how/when I wanted, I may have come back in the future again when things improve. Now I definitely won't come back. Do the right thing and refund the erroneous charges and cancel the membership. Additional: Reading the other negative review you wrote this in response: "Please also remember, you signed up during a pandemic. Any reasonable person would expect there might be a brief shut down. You and your friend are literally the only two members that have complained about the brief closure." I DID NOT sign up during a pandemic. Your operating practices changed. I put a FREEZE on it, hoping operations would return back to normal. It did not. The contract should be considered null and void and money refunded. Period! UPDATE TO COMMENT ON 1/6/2021: For whatever reason, I am not able to comment on your comment below. So I am making it here: Look, I'm just looking for a fair outcome here...I really am. If you had said to me, "Hey Mike! We are going to freeze your account indefinitely until a time we can accommodate how we did before the pandemic. No charge!" Then fine. Whatever. I would love to do kickboxing as it was before the pandemic. What I do not like is since the pandemic, the structure of the classes changed in a way that I do not enjoy. Again I joined up because anytime I felt like coming in, I could. I did not have to set an appointment. I then went along with setting the appointment 24+ hrs in advance and going to class and only then decided to cancel the minute you implemented the $12 penalty fee for missing an appointment if not canceled or changed within 8hrs of said appointment start time. I'm already paying a membership fee per month. That membership fee pays for a spot that I signed up for. If I miss it, then you know what? I screw myself out of a workout. And yes, it sucks that I may not be able to make it up later in the day. Try again the next day. But you FORCED this system on to your members. It's not what I signed up for or agreed to. Thank you for saying that I, and I alone am the reason you implemented the policy, with an exclamation point too! Really makes me feel welcome to come back. With comments like that, what incentive do I have to come back and workout at your establishment? I understand why you restructured the program the way you did. You felt it was the only way you could survive. I get it. This all sucks. I do feel really bad for your business and all the other businesses heavily affected by this pandemic. I think it is 100% unfair and you shouldn't have to be doing this. But at the same time, don't take it out on your members. Doing this nickel and dime penalty crap really rubbed me the wrong way. I signed up, to pay a monthly fee, to come in whenever I feel like I want to, for a 30min kick-ass workout. I do not want to have assigned class times that I get charged a penalty for if I miss them. And for many people that may have worked just fine. It doesn't work for me. So instead of seeing money wasted, I asked nicely for a refund and cancellation of the contract. And yes you did refund me in November, but then charged me in December for a freeze. Which I believe you are going to keep charging until putting my contract back into effect at the end of February per said email? This is why I say you are stealing money from me. You are forcing me to abide by rules I did not and do not agree to. Can you show me in the contract where it says you can alter your services during a pandemic? I looked all through my email and don't see a service contract to review. Also, by your logic, can you randomly add a $500 service fee a year for "covid cleaning" and that is legal? I think not! Sure, you may have been able to legally change the structure of the classes with assigned class times. But once you started adding the fees, that changes it. read more

I've been a member for about a year now and I couldn't be happier. The owners are great people and really care about their clientele and their staff. The trainers are incredible. Aaron, Harmony, and Amanda will all gladly kick your rear end and do it in the nicest way possible. It's impossible to hate them (and trust me I've tried to sometimes during the workouts). While the workouts can be challenging, the trainers offer support and encouragement as opposed to being drill sergeants (which I don't respond to). I also love the no class times and being able to come in when it's convenient and start right away. For any prospective member I would say come in and try it. You won't regret it. read more

This represents who you and your wife are as gym owners and your character as individuals. My review still stands and you have made that clear as to why. I am well aware there is a pandemic going on and well aware that you feel comfortable taking money from your members with out any kind of refund. The main reason this has been such an issue is due to your lack of communication. As stated in your contract, you were unable to provide a facility, therefore, your contract was no longer valid. I do not consider this matter closed and do not appreciate the disrespect you have shown towards my friend and I. You have shown no interest in resolving this issue and only care about yourself. It shouldn't matter how the other members feel but should matter how all of your members feel. Do yourself a favor and do NOT sign up for a membership here. I loved the workouts and trainers but the owners lack communication and customer service skills. I was currently working in Valencia but commuting from Ventura. Decided to give this gym a try since they are near my work. Due to uncertain times, I was approved to work from home, which meant I would no longer be commuting to the area anymore. I reached out to Christy, the owner, to explain this situation and was given the middle finger practically. She did not care about my situation and was not personable at all and gave me a big FU. At this same time that I requested to cancel my membership, the gym shut down due to a positive test. PROBABLY BECAUSE THEY ARE OPEN INDOORS! They closed down the gym for two weeks and did not notify the members for two days as to what was going on. Once we were informed of the shut down, I still wanted to cancel. The gym is not providing a facility to workout at, therefore, their contract is no longer valid. They are refusing to refund those two weeks and are refusing to terminate my membership. There was only one option given with the two week closure, to add on two weeks to my membership. My membership should be cancelled and refunded. Not added onto a membership that I cant use. I do not reccomend this gym to anyone. I am now having to take legal action to handle this matter. They have been reported to the BBB & health department. Writing this from my car after stopping in to get more information. Seemed interesting until I asked for pricing. They said they wouldn't give me any pricing information until I tried my first class, I let them know that I probably wouldnt return for a class if they didn't give me an idea on pricing. They told me "that's fine, this isn't for everyone." Wanting to know the costs of good or services should not be an indicator of a "right fit." But it is A GIANT RED FLAG for an interested consumer. So beware, can almost promise from experience with other places who like to play these type of games that you should read the fine print of whatever it is they're trying to sell you. THIS GYM ROCKS! It is the first time in my life I've been actually motivated and even look forward to working out! 30 minute work outs with no class times and a new work out everyday is the perfect combination for me! Plus the trainers are so awesome and friendly! The cost can be a deterrent but if you're health and fitness is important to you and you've had a hard time staying motivated then it's worth the try. They offer 10 days passes too to see if it's a good fit for you. I have been able to stay consistent on 4 days a week since I started. Even if you aren't very athletic you can still do the workouts as you can modify your pace based on your ability. As a former college athlete I love how intense I can make the workouts. They give you a heart rate monitor which helps to track your progress during the workout and when you need to back off a bit. I burn about 600-700 calories each work out in just 30 min! There's a weekly challenge of the week that is fun to try and beat yourself each workout. You get gloves and hand wraps too! As for results, I have seen a noticeable difference and others have noticed too in just two months. Oh and it's the perfect stress release if you have a stressful job! read more

Super convenient: no class times, just walk in and start the 9- 3 minute round circuit. Variety of bags is great: hanging heavy bags, plum bag, speed bags. Instructors keep you focused and allow you to work at whatever fitness level you're able. Heart monitor is a great tool to keep track of your work and progress.
