There are people standing all over the place and bags clogging up every aisle. If you have to come early and wait, it will not be pleasant. There are not enough restrooms. Women, especially will have to wait because there are equal numbers of men's and women's restrooms. Thanks a lot. I don't appreciate being cheated out of 25 Eoros by the vending machines. We put in that much and got exactly nothing. There does not appear to be any recourse. Why can't you put a little snack bar in here?

So Caen airport is one of those small regional airports which only open when they are expecting a…read moreflight, so don't get here to early in the morning otherwise you could be waiting outside. There is a cafe/bar area that opened, when I was there at 09:15, and had a good selection of hit, cold and alcoholic beverages. A bit early for me but some were on the red wine!! They do provide you with free wifi but you have to supply a valid email address to get the confirmation code otherwise you get cut off after 15 minutes and who wants that!! The check in staff were friendly and efficient, I mean there was two people in front of me and they dispatched them quickly and did the same with me. Big airports take note!! The downside is that once you go through security that's it there is nothing to do, no where to walk you are literally stuck in a small waiting area. So my tip is wait as long as you can before you go through. When you do decide to go through as you approach security you have to had your passport & boarding pass through a window for security to check and they stamp your boarding pass. I mention that as when you then go to put your bag through the scanners they ask to see your boarding pass so don't put it away to quickly!! Once you do go through there is a small vending machine on the other side. Toilets are also available and then seats to sit on and that's all there is.
