Provided warranty service for my Cosmo gas range in November 2021 (Cosmo ticket 572335). Replaced the thermostat. Upon completion of the repair, the oven would not turn on at all, which is much worse than its condition before the repair of not coming to full temperature. The technician advised me that he would be in touch. I waited for the follow up, which never happened. Eventually, I learned from Cosmo's Escalation department that A-1 closed the work order and called the repair complete, which caused Cosmo to close the warranty claim. A-1 rendered my oven unusable and took money from Cosmo for the warranty repair, then never contacted me again! I cannot recommend a repair service that ghosted me, and I wish the oven could be restored to its condition before A-1 touched it and made it unusable. read more

I have a Samsung F8500 plasma, purchased in the fall of 2013. For those who don't know, this was the pinnacle of TV image quality and still fares extremely competitively against current TV's especially. Essentially, this is still a great TV despite it being 7 years old and I have no desire to jump into an OLED set yet. Imagine my dismay when out of the blue, the TV started doing all the things that TV's start doing when they're about to act up. Taking longer to power on. Then after a while, starting to shut itself off. After extensive googling, I thought it could be a couple of different things and I really didn't want to break out the soldering iron and attempt to repair it myself. The stakes were too high! My plasma baby deserved professional attention! I looked up and called A-1 TV service to attempt to remedy my issue. I had no issues with them whatsoever. They made an appointment, came during the specified time, and very methodically diagnosed and repaired my TV. They *could* have done any number of things to extort more money out of me (they could have told me it was a bad power supply, a bad capacitor, etc) but the problem was literally that the TV needed to have a couple connections re-soldered. It was taken care of professionally and courteously, and they even put my TV back right back on it's wall mount. Their price was super reasonable, and I will always use them in the future if any of my other appliances have issues. They repair all manner of appliances except refrigerators. They offered to either do an onsite pickup or I could bring the tv in, so I chose the latter b/c that fit my schedule better. They quickly diagnosed the problem with the tv (bad motherboard, possibly a surge victim), ordered the part, and replaced it in about a week. They were up front about the possible repairs needed, the diagnosis fee, and the parts costs. They clearly do a lot of tv repairs and had some neat tools for doing a proper diagnosis. The tv has been working fine since the repair. It was a straightforward and reasonably priced experience. read more

Jeff from A-1 came out to fix my Washing Machine but "also" took care of a problem that had developed with my Dryer. Going the extra mile, -he also showed me how to remove and clean the Dryer's "condenser" which should be done every 3-4 months. I was unaware of this issue, so that bit of education will hopefully help to keep the dryer running optimally. A-1 pricing seemed fair to me; I've checked online and electronic parts are generally quite expensive. He made a total of 2 trips out to us and spent about 2-3 hours diagnosing and ultimately repairing. And ~ The Dryer is now working properly, - - - "currently" all's well. read more

I'm extremely pleased with the service I received from A-1. My washing machine decided it wanted to act a fool a few weeks ago. I contacted another company based in DC through the list of LG's recommended providers and they replaced parts unnecessarily and were all and all a nightmare. I went back to the original list, found A-1, did a Yelp search, and proceeded with giving them a call. Most of my phone interactions were with Zach and Edvin, and they worked with me on troubleshooting (I low key think I'm a washing machine repair technician now), and ordered parts and scheduled an appointment based on what they thought was going on. I appreciated them really working with me on scheduling bc of course the machine broke down when I had 3 loads ready to go. They called me on a Friday evening and told me that Fernando could come out on Saturday if I was available. (Of course I'm available, we're in a pandemic. Where am I going?) Fernando came by Saturday afternoon. The first load after he left was fine, but alas, load two was a disaster and the same error message returned. I took lots of videos and photos and emailed them Saturday night and Sunday morning. Jeff (owner) responded to my emails on Sunday. Note: Jeff does not mince words. He's a tough guy like my Dad, and in all honesty, his tough demeanor was a bit much when I was stressed about the machine not working. I spoke with Zach again on the following Monday and he did more troubleshooting with me and said he thought the issue was something else completely that's like a 1 out of 15 rare occurrence. Of course I was the one. He ordered more parts and scheduled the upcoming Saturday for them to return. This time Jeff serviced the machine. Jeff is still a tough guy in person lol, but he genuinely means well. He got the washer working, and I've washed about ten loads since he left. Pricing is super fair, and I think this family owned business is pretty amazing. I hope to never have to use them again, ha, but if I need to, I will not hesitate to give them a call. read more

They called to schedule the appointment day and called that day to confirm the arrival time. The technicians arrived on schedule and completed the repair in less than an hour. BEWARE. NEVER AGAIN. I wish I would have read the other reviews about Jeff W. the person my husband and I had to deal with because I would have never hired them to do a simple job on our washing machine. This has been the most UNPROFESSIONAL business to ever work with. I would 100% describe the experience and behavior as combative since the moment JEFF walked through my door. I wasn't going to mention Jeffs behavior towards me the entire time he was in my home to my husband or write any reviews but after giving us a hard time about pricing and the conversation they had with my husband over the phone, here we are. When I first contacted the company, the scheduler I spoke to over the phone was very pleasant to work with. I told them what I needed and they gave me a price. we agreed to the price and continued with scheduling. They did not ask me if our units were stacked or mentioned anything about the price being an extra $50 if the units were stacked otherwise I would have not agreed to hire them. They told me the technichian (JEFF) would be arriving between 11am-1pm. Jeff did not arrive until 2:06 pm (I have his arrival and departure recorded on my security camera and doorbell camera) I tried to call the company FOUR times at 1pm to see if they were showing up and there was NO ANSWER. When Jeff arrived, he was completely rude and unprofessional the entire time and made me feel uncomfortable until he left. I tried to remain calm and kind so that he would calm down since I could tell he was someone with a bad attitude and temper and I was alone with my NEWBORN and my husband wasn't home. When Jeff was leaving he told me they were going to send me an invoice with the price we were given so that we could pay. He showed me the $325 invoice they would be sending and then left. He did not mention the extra $50 at all. I was going to let it go and not mention the way I was treated and the experience I had to my husband but after they called me to collect payment at 5:30pm on a Friday after they were closed while I was out with my family and after they tried to charge me an extra $50 for a mistake they made that was never mentioned to me before I agreed to hire them for the job I decided to mention everything to my husband in detail. When they called at that time I told them I was out with my family and I was unable to have this conversation at that time. I told them I would try to call back IF I COULD to discuss the payment. They mentioned someone would be there until 6:30 and I had until then to call back. Since I was out with my family I was unavailable to call back until 7:00 by that time it was too late so my husband called them as soon as he got a chance first thing in morning on Monday even though he was also at work. He was frustrated to hear how they tried calling me a liar to cover up their mistake and how unprofessional I was treated for the hour and twenty minutes they were at our home and frustrated to hear about the price increase so he tried to bring up the company's mistake and instead of them owning up to it and apologizing they gave him a hard time also. Just for a future reference and for common courtesy, don't treat your customers with an attitude after your company makes a mistake, your the experts, do your job, that's what you get paid to do. If we were the experts we wouldn't be calling you. I hope your attitude and the way my husband and I were treated since the moment you walked through our door was worth it. The staff I spoke with over the telephone and Jeff were both kind and professional. When Jeff came to fix my TV, he worked quickly and made sure everything was perfect. LG contracted A-1 to perform a warranty panel replacement for my LG B6 OLED television that had image retention issues. A-1 came out and replaced the panel, but the next day the TV would power on, but wouldn't display a picture. A-1 identified the issue as an internal cable that was defective and ordered a replacement cable from LG. A-1 came back out and replaced the internal cable but the issue with displaying a picture persisted. The TV powers on but no picture is displayed. I contacted A-1 again to request their assistance and the owner came out to take a look. He disassembled the TV and re-seated the internal cabling. Afterward it powered up and a picture was able to be displayed. The next morning, I attempted to turn the TV on and no picture was displayed. I turned it off, turned it back on - and it displayed a picture, but just as a precaution I emailed A-1 to let them know that this issue was persisting and asked what the path forward for troubleshooting was. I received no response from A-1. I emailed again this morning reporting that the TV still has issues displaying a picture and received a response that I'm going to have to go through LG for further support. My LG B6 never had any issues displaying a picture until A-1 replaced the panel. Now they're referring me back to the manufacturer for an issue that they can clearly troubleshoot but are refusing to do so. If a company is contracted for warranty repair work and the repair never really works, does the work count as being completed? I'd say that the answer is, "No." Avoid these guys! ------------------------------------------------------------ Update: 4/7/20 - I just had the owner, Jeff, call me in a rage and tell me that he "didn't appreciate" the poor review that I left him on Angie's List (same as here). I've never had a vendor speak to me in the way that he did in my life. A-1 TV was contracted to replace my OLED panel and it has never worked appropriately since the day it was installed. That's the bottom line. I've been nothing but accommodating during this process. I work in tech and realize that sometimes technical things don't work even if you do things the right way. This issue was never fully troubleshot (after FOUR (4) visits to my home) to determine the actual cause of the fault. Sending me a terse email telling me to pursue further support from LG is passing on the responsibility for the issue. A-1 was hired to perform warranty repair work and it was never appropriately completed. I told Jeff to cancel the ticket. I'll work with literally any other authorized LG vendor in the area to get this work completed. As of today, 4/7/20 - I still have a TV that doesn't work after the initial visit from A-1 on 3/16/20. read more

LG referred me to this company as their warranty service provider. They came out promptly, and diagnosed the issue as both the circulation and drain pumps needing replacement on our dishwasher. Both pumps we were told were under warranty, but we would pay labor. We have the written estimate in hand stating this. After about 3 weeks of waiting for the two parts, and multiple calls to check on status, the self-proclaimed owner of the company came to install only 1 pump, saying the other pump was $36 and not covered, flatly refusing to "eat it" despite his written estimate. His attitude was combative from the moment he walked in, and because of such he was told to leave, and then tried to say he was pushed out the door. He was not touched and is on security camera as such. Unbelievable experience. read more

I was referred by LG for an out of service warranty for an LG OLED TV after a lightning storm killed it. They were very pleasant over the phone and also very knowledgeable. They talked with me over the phone and was able to determine that was either the power supply or the motherboard. They ordered both parts and Jeff came over to fix the TV. He was very professional and friendly. He replaced the motherboard and fixed my OLED. Since motherboard was the cause he returned the power supply. Extremely smooth and pleasant experience. Jeff came over to fix my Sony TV. My Sony TV one day just stopped turning on. I called Sony and they set up a ticket with A1 to repair the TV. From the first call till the end I was very happy with the customer service I received. I called and was told we could schedule the appointment as soon as the parts came in. I was thinking I would have to call back in a week but instead I was called early and told the parts are in and they scheduled an appointment literally the next business to come and fix my tv. They also called me the day before which was a holiday to let me know when they would be coming the next day. Jeff came over and was super nice. He quickly replaced the defective part and answered my questions and gave me advice on TVs while he repaired the tv. He then went the extra mile and put on the sound bar and put the tv back on the wall which he did not need to do. The tv was heavy and I helped put it on the wall with him which saved me an extra call asking family members to help me. Skip A1 tv. I spoke with the owner Jeff multiple times about repairing my TV. They spent 6 months working on it and came out to my house 4 times. They were unable to resolve the issue and I was repeatedly told by the manufacturer that they were not as good as the other firms in the area but I had to keep working with them. I was told by the manufacturer that A1 was not providing then status updates and that A1 has a broken reporting system which caused months long delays in getting my TV fixed. If you're getting your TV repaired that's under warranty, ask for a different company and save yourself months of time. If you're paying out of pocket, pick someone more knowledgeable. read more

I used A-1 this week to repair the internet wiring for LG tv. Jeff figured out the problem over the phone based on the model of LG that I own and a known problem with the connection between the internet module and the motherboard. Verizon had told me it was the internet module itself, based on their knowledge of my TV. They gave me a few numbers for LG TV repair places, but none could do the work, but thankfully one of those businesses gave me A-1's information. Jeff assessed the problem over the phone as not the internet module but just the wiring. He was aware of this defect in this particular LG. He ordered the needed part and got back to me in just a few days to schedule the repair and worked around my schedule in a very flexible way. Fernando came out on time and worked quickly and methodically to replace the part. He was very pleasant and hardworking. He tested the TV once the wiring was replaced and even showed me a few things about the TV that I didn't know myself after he tested it and confirmed it was working properly.
