I specifically requested that the plants they were tearing out needed to be removed in a way that was going to prevent them from returning, basically pulled by the roots. I thought the price they quoted me for the job i requested was fair. However They showed up and used mostly weedwackers/trimmers to cut down the foliage raking the stuff out but leaving a lot of weeds behind in the beds and completely missing some plants. They started the work when I was on the way home and when I arrived asked what I wanted them to do with the torn out plants, asking if they wanted me to just throw the waste bags over my fence. While it wasn't specifically discussed in the quote generally a removal job means you take the stuff you tear out away and in my opinion the quote definitely reflected that cost. They placed the weed barrier down but missed a lot of area and didnt over lap the edges. They also only used twigs at the corners of the pieces which meant after a day or two most of the work that they did cover was undone. The weed barrier should have cover the entire space securely and been tacked down in several places to ensure that it wouldn't be moved out of place. I paid for a complete job that I'm largely going to have to redo myself. This was not a professional landscaping job and I really feel I could have done the same job myself. I wouldn't recommend hiring MMA for anything more complicated than mowing your lawn. Find a real professional to do the work or you will regret it.

They gave us a fair bid for the job and then completed it on schedule. They needed to go onto our neighbors' property to get the job done safely, and they did an excellent job communicating with the neighbors. They came back several weeks later to grind out the stumps. Another tree service said they couldn't get their stump grinder down our narrow driveway to the backyard. But Carl's had no problem, and they left the yard in great shape with the giant stumps all gone. They had to take down the fence and put it back up again, and they took care with that, leaving the fence in great shape.

This was my very first time talking to a tree removal business with Arborists. The person answering the phone is not creating a welcoming feeling. She speaks is such a condescending tone. I was sorry that I called and bothered her at her job (sarcasm) She spoke very fast without any emotion and seemed so annoyed when I asked questions. She didn't even let me finish my reason for calling when she barked at me " Address., Name. " She made me feel as if she was way to busy to deal with a customer. (the reason she has this job) Then when I mentioned that I wanted them to answer a couple questions about some ornamentals, she replied "that will have to be a seperate appointment" I asked why I had to have a second appointment for just some questions. She did not reply. I just wanted to get off the phone. UGH. I have not received a call back regarding any quote appointment, etc. I will not use this company or recommend them. They should rethink how they allow office staff to speak to customers. I am sure I am not the only one that has experienced the attitude.

A five-man crew showed up and made quick work of our trees. Everyone was friendly and skilled. They took care not to damage anything. They worked well around things in our yard that couldn't easily be moved out of the way (swing, fire pit, stack of lumber, etc). They were called to trim back three of my neighbor's huge trees. It was not an easy job and they guys had to climb up the trees (probably 5 stories tall!) to cut some of the branches off. They arrived early and worked all day in the sun. They also took pictures of my slate roof that had damage so that I could be made aware of it. They also cleaned up and left my yard cleaner than it was before.

Axeman gave us an estimate over the phone based off of pictures. Once we decided to go with them, they got it taken care of right away. Everyone that we interacted with was pleasant and professional. They were incredibly hard working. The stump was located on a pretty steep hill and the team never complained, but just got it done. We were shocked at their speed and their efficiency. It didn't even take them 2 hours. They even cleaned up the mess that comes with grinding out a stump. We couldn't be happier with our experience and would recommend them to anybody!

I first contacted Gardenalia in Feb. 2022 and quickly set up a meeting with Patrizia, who came to…read moremy house and listened to us discuss our landscaping needs. We needed an extensive clean-up and redesign of a low-maintenance pollinator garden. Within the next month, she had developed a custom design for our house and we were very impressed during her presentation. Patrizia puts together a wonderful packet of information with photos of all of the plants that she is choosing for you, which is great for a garden newb like me! We quickly put down a deposit and got on the waitlist for her team to install the plants. Initially we were told that we were scheduled for June, but were warned it was hard to guess - which I understand given the nature of the work. I checked in again on May 26th and was told another 5-6 weeks. They ended up beginning the work on July 18th. Not long after they had finished up, we had noticed that one specific type of tree they had planted throughout the perimeter of our yard was dying. We were told that we needed to water them more. At this point, we were already watering them extensively multiple times a day but stepped up our efforts. It also wasn't long before weeds were popping up in our garden and this was requiring daily maintenance while still not keeping on top of it, which is something we definitely didn't want. In September, I reached out again to request them to come by for fall maintenance. When doing our final walk-through after installation, this is the timeframe when Patrizia had told me to reach out... but in her response to my email, she said it was too early to schedule fall maintenance. I asked when would be a good time to schedule and did not hear back. My husband emailed in December expressing disappointment that now, most of the trees they had planted were dying (value $960) and we had never heard back about scheduling fall maintenance. We had another landscaping company come look and they were surprised that Gardenalia did not put down any newspaper or cardboard to suppress weeds. The other company also pointed out several plants that were not fully planted and had exposed rootballs. We did receive an apology from Gardenalia for not responding to our emails in the fall but overall, didn't feel like they appropriately addressed the other concerns we brought up. In their response, they said that paper mulch to suppress weeds would have been a "waste of money" - but just weeks after installation, I began spending hours daily weeding without being able to get on top of it. We did not reply and decided to go with another landscaper's services for maintenance in the spring. In April, we heard from Gardenalia again - they were offering to come by and weed/clean up our yard for free. This was a very nice gesture from them but by now, we had started working with the other landscaping company. A good portion of the plants/trees that Gardenalia had installed, as well as a butterfly bush that had been thriving on our property for years and had been transplanted, did not make it through to this year. Our new landscapers explained this was likely due to being planted or transplanted during such a hot time of year. I wish Gardenalia had explained this as a risk to us as all of the work was very expensive and we would have waited until the next year. This means a greater expense for us this year as we had to pay for extensive weed removal, lay down cardboard to suppress the weeds, and replace the plants and trees that have died. In summary, I do believe Patrizia has a passion and a wonderful eye for landscape design and she was mostly professional and kind in my interactions with her. The garden was very beautiful before the weeds became too much to deal with. I was less impressed with the maintenance team and the work that they did with the installation or in responding to our questions and concerns, especially for how much we spent on the project (over $12k!). I do appreciate that they tried to make it right in the end but did not feel confident that the quality of the work would be what we wanted. For what it's worth, we have not had any issue with weeds popping up since having the other landscaping company put cardboard down.
