Best bbq I've gotten in the area in a long time. The ribs aren't saucy and goopy but just tender enough that you can take a good bite without them falling apart. Before we get to the food let's start with the service. These days it feels like most employees half ass their job and couldn't care less about the service they provide. In a place that isn't based on tips it was amazing to see each and every employee be genuinely happy we came in, even though they were very busy. They were all kind and courteous and very helpful. Now for the food... holy crap, I've all but given up on BBQ in California. It's just never the same as the South, no matter how many times they claim to be from there. Well I was really wanting to try this place out because real BBQ is so hard to come by in Sonoma County. It is my wife and I's anniversary and we were really excited about it. Alas the place is closed, and there was someone else there who said this is the second time she tried to come to this place and it was closed then too. If I could give them a zillion stars I would. The best BBQ you'll get in California (and I've had Bludso's in LA, which is a hard pass btw because of their inconsistency). Had the pork ribs, Dino bone, baked beans - to go. The ribs we're the best I've ever had - moist, tender, super flavorful, and NOT falling off the bone, which they shouldn't be. The Dino bone, not going to lie, I was skeptical. It's pricey, but OMG soooo delicious AND this time falling off the bone, as it should be as a beef rib. LOTS of meat, way more than you'd be expecting, and the flavor is next level. The bark was amazing on this. Was my son's favorite. The baked beans were absolutely delicious. Flavorful, not mushy, a great complement to the meats. And now a word about the proprietors. The two gentleman opened the doors, came out and greeted each customer standing in line with a welcome and handshake. Were kind and courteous with each customer. You just want to support them. Fantastic brisket it was so Smokey and tender. The brisket wasn't too fatty (they asked our preference), I really liked that it came with pickles and pickled onions. The BBQ sauce was great. Awesome, Mac and cheese creamy and delicious. Cornbread tasted good but a little dense for my preference. Ribs were also good and really moist but we preferred the brisket. Im giving this 2 stars for ONE REASON. I ordered a beef rib, one beef rib to be exact. It cost me $51.00! 75% of the rib was just bone and what remained was maybe a 4 inch section of beef (not exaggerating). I would say it was maybe enough for one person. What bothered me even more was that this was sold by weight. So they charged me for the weight of the bone + a small 4 inch portion of what beef remained in the middle. I dont care how good it tasted, that is total price gouging and a middle finger to me as a customer. Any other bbq place, for 51.00 you are leaving stuffed to the brim. Not here! I will never go back just based on principle. Too bad, the BBQ is good. Too many good restaurants to choose from to go back here for that obscene price. read more

I so wanted to like this place and was prepared to be wowed based on what I'd heard. But unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype. The good first. The owners/staff were nice, helpful and even offered a taste of whichever meat you chose. I ordered the 1 meat, 2 sides plate. The brisket was tender and flavorful, if a bit too salty. Where they missed the mark was the sides. The mac & cheese was congealed and just this side of stone cold. It may have been tasty but as it was served it was hard to tell. Same with the jalapeño honey cornbread. Weirdly also "congealed". It wasn't bread at all, more like bread pudding. It was like all the air had been pressed out of it. It was also tepid and not even approaching warm. This lackluster meal, which included only 2 slices of brisket, cost $21, not including tax/tip. I wouldn't even bring up the price if this had been a spectacular meal, or even a pretty good one. I don't know if this was a one off bad day, but if not I hope the owners see this and make the effort to improve. read more

Upon walking in, I was shocked because from the outside I truly didn't know what to expect. But this establishment has a nice ambience and it's very open and clean. I got the plate with brisket, Mac n cheese and Cole slaw. The brisket was super tender and had such great flavor. It is amazing with or without their BBQ sauce. Their Mac n cheese has decent flavor. Their Cole slaw was also good. I ended up regretting not trying the corn bread because it looked delicious. Service was 20/10! We were greeted by a gentleman who offered us a sample of their turkey! Disappointed. After a favorable review in the local paper, I was anxious to try this place. After a hot Saturday spent working outside, this placed would have been perfect for a no-prep dinner. At 5 pm, they were already out of beans so I got a double order of slaw to accompany the pork ribs. My daughter fetched the food so I didn't see it until it arrived and was so disappointed when I opened the food lid. The ribs were tasty, but with only three small pieces along with the sad looking (and tasting) slaw, I felt overcharged for what I got. Bottom line is that I won't be going back. Way overpriced for the quantity/quality of food. Too bad because I try and patronize my local merchants whenever I can. read more

The smell of the bbq is delicious, the seating is perfect, the music could have been louder because it was being drowned out by everyone in line drooling about what they were going to order. I just discovered this place in downtown Sebastopol as you head from downtown toward Cotati on 116 (on the one-way just before the 116 becomes 2 way again). It is so good....BEST Tri-tip I've ever had. It melts like butter and has a smoky flavor. I had asked for BBQ sauce (and it was provided) but was told to try the meat without it first - I did - and it was so good that I didn't need to add any sauce. My husband LOVES the ribs there. I am skeptical of BBQ places and this one was clean, the owner was super friendly, and the food was fantastic. read more

Happen to catch this place when they were open, most of the time they are closed when we drive by. Ordered pulled pork sandwich and tri tip sandwich. Smoker was going outside as they finished off ribs which looked good. I love tri trip sandwiches - at noon they were out (or didn't make) the horseradish spread that was suppose to come with the sandwich so they used a garlic aioli. This overpowered the thinly sliced meat. We pulled the meat out wiped off as much garlic and it still fell short. Sandwich was on a wonderful soft roll made by a local bakery, but the sandwich was just garlic aioli and tri tip- and not a lot of tri tip. Meat was lost in garlic and bread. 2 stars at best and that was for the great bread. Wouldn't get this again. Pulled pork sandwich- pork was mixed with bbq sauce on a soft grocery store bun (package on counter), with basic coleslaw that had chunks of apple. The pork was reheated in microwave, generous portion, the apple chunks too thick ... sandwich was good but we've had better.. nothing spectacular. The slaw was a basic slaw - aside from apples- it tastes like a prepared / assembled product. We were going to get the potato or mac salad, but was told it too was store bought, so we passed. Super disappointing. Overall not really impressed with flavor or lack of care. read more
