Shampoo, soap. lamps, tape, pots, pans, chocolates, weird statues for home decoration and other general stuff, such as purple heart badges, old rifles, military uniforms and more. Everything is pretty damn cheap. If you want a kitschy sculpture of an owl painted as though the craftsman was wearing beer google, you've got your store. It won't put you out much for the masterpiece and you might even find that, while you're there, you can pick up a new pair of scissors for a pound or two. If your a pedestrian in the area, you can go to this pedestrian shop, but only if you need some cheap house goods or other random items of little value. There's nothing wrong with this place, don't get me wrong, it just doesn't leave me impassioned.

There are a number of different stalls from antiques and and odds n ends to all sorts freshly baked and prepared food. There is a huge selection of Italian bread, dips, cakes and biscuits. The market is not that big but it's the perfect size in my opinion. I hate markets that are too huge, you can never decide what to buy but Northcote Road Market is small but perfectly formed offering you everything you need for your Sunday lunch to something nice to put on the mantelpiece at home.

They hand choose all kinds of items, from lamps to dressers, frames to napkin holders, wine and champagne glasses and all of their items are surprisingly cheap. I saw the most beautiful lamp, which was obviously handcrafted and vintage for only £30. Actually, everything in there I saw I wanted for my home. The buyers have fantastic taste in interior décor. It is a small operation and everyone in the shop is so helpful and polite. Anytime I need to funk up my living quarters I am going to pick up something from this shop, it's great.

I sent an offer which the seller accepted, took payment then decided to cancel my purchase at 11.00pm that evening. No communication, no courtesy of an explanation, nothing. This wouldn't have been such an issue if I hadn't purchased a matching credenda unit. I'm honest in my dealings and honour my obligations, shame this seller doesn't share the same level of integrity.

It is filled with rather battered and individual pieces of furniture, art books and the odd broken object. Nothing is priced or has any indication of being for sale, instead the drawers and cupboards have more of these antiquities housed inside them, a few months ago even a collection of modern plastic sunglasses appear in the shop. The shop reminds me of the strange things you might find in a house left behind by an old rather senile person, but I love it. I love furniture and I love when you can see history and personality in it. Everything in here is unique and honest. Expect to find a deteriorating leather chaise, a large industrial tin locker unit, a 60's lampshade and an encyclopedia of African Art hidden behind a 1950's school photograph in a smashed frame. Designers Guild is an eye-popping bevy of furniture, linens, wallpaper, and drapery. It's really worth a visit just to see how marvelously creative people can be when given carte blanche to so. Everything on offer here is so, so, *so* finely-detailed and well-made and beautiful - it's design execution at its pinnacle. They carry the likes of Ralph Lauren Home and Jasper Conran - some designs of which are exclusive to the store. And they just recently launched their own line of fabrics and wallpapers under the name of "The Royal Collection." This line has supposedly been inspired by interiors found in the residences of the Royals - my goodness, it makes me want to see them!!!
