In Cotswold you can get proper walking boots, real fell-running shoes, those ropey things that climbers use (you may guess that I'm not a climber), proper real coats, tents, hats... you get the idea. There's also gadgets like tripods for attaching to jungle branches and ways of finding your way in the desert. The staff know what Gortex and gaiters are. Not sure why it's called Cotswold as the stuff in here seems designed for ground that's a lot more challenging and rugged than the tame Cotswolds.

Although the shop is fairly small in size you can order goods from their catalogue and have it delivered to the store. If you enjoy the outdoor life then this is the store for you. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and are always able to offer assistance if you require it. They have some good sales and discounts on throughout the year. They have a range of waterproof jackets, fleeces, hats, gloves etc for men, women and children. These vary from the cheaper Peter Storm range through to the more expensive Berghaus brand.

We were in and out in 15 minutes with our hire and they recommended the right beach with the right conditions. My daughter had a great time and when we returned the kit it was fast and easy. I can't even tell you how reasonable the prices were. Fantastic experience and we will be sure to come back again.

Mountain Warehouse had a large stock of sleeping bags, rucksacks, flasks, hats, cooking stoves, Wellingtons etc... all at prices far lower than you would pay in regular shopping areas.

The store stocks a good range of camping and outdoor equipment and whilst I dont go camping very often I do like to buy the childrens outdoor coats here. The quality of their products is good and hard wearing and I have never had reason to complain. Childrens coats can range from £15 to £30 however I feel this is worth paying for. Most of their items seem to be priced a little above average but I guess that you get what you pay for. Staff are always helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend a visit if you havent been to a Millets before.

I first caught a glimpse of the back end of the shop when I was on the train going somewhere and could just see all these tents. Intrigued I went to have a look when I after some outdoorsy christmas presents. There was almost too much choice and whats more that had lots of reasonably priced gear as well as the high end stuff. So they are quite happy to fraudulently convince customers that they cannot replace/repair or refund when that customer is legally entitled to one. Only bad review I have given a store in my 40 years, quite simply a horrible, horrible business who are doing their best to screw you. They hate their customers with a passion. I spent a grand in there and now have nothing to show for it, they are worse than thieves. In the end the joke in on them, going out this week to buy whole new sets of horse riding gear for my 2 daughters, and a whole new tent set up and will be spending that in another store. So to save themselves a quick buck they are losing nearly 2 grand of income, which admittedly is not much to them! Word of warning all their own brands tents are designed to fail and they will assure you there is no way of repairing or replacing parts, forcing you to buy a whole new tent!

Even if the…read moreweather is miserable it always seems to be busy undoubtedly because of their great variety of lunch, pizzas, coffee and wonderful homemake cakes. They are known for their huge slabs of cake and usually have a great choice of carrot, cinnamon, banana, coconut etc. They aim to cater for gluten and sugar free diets too, so there is usually an option of cake-still delicious which is suitable for all. Long opening hours and open 7 days a week make this a welcome attraction out on the Gower and walkers, muddy or otherwise are warmly invited in.
