Not good. Lucky those who received good work. However this man's immaturity got the better of him. Any claim by him that the $3,600 was a deposit are a fabrication. A deposit is an offer of good faith for work yet to be performed to reserve the services of the laborer. We welcomed this company and an appointment was made. Only labor was contacted for, we supplied materials. His company did not complete the installation of 22 sheets of 8x4 drywall. We are willing to pay for work supplied but because of this company's lack of business decorum the owner feels entitled to the full amount. I feel 3,600 is over payment for 22 sheets and 8 hours of work. Also, he disappeared on a 1,200 square foot installation on our third floor leaving the aforementioned ex employee to finish. Hire at your own risk. So you know we renovate houses for a living and having worked with many contractors this company leaves much to be desired on big projects. Small ones he may be fine doing. First I can say that the actual workers Gage and Tim did a great job. However, I strongly feel I was over charged and was never offered a 15% discount for being a veteran as advertised on the web site. That's on me I signed the contract, lesson learned. The owner Adam Had asked me at one point to pay off the entire balance before the job was finished because he was going on vacation to Disney world And wanted to pay his employees before he left. I was not comfortable at doing that. When the issue was brought up with Adam he became very upset.He told his workers to pick up and leave. He didn't need my money and he would never work for that bitch again. Me ! When the conversation continued Adam insinuated I was a racist advised me to stop being a "Karen." That all I wanted to do was take down the successful black man down and bully a black man. The Conversation ended by Adam telling me that he was not afraid of me. I also was very unhappy with this company. I too feel he ripped me off. He is very unprofessional. I paid him in advance and to finish up two simple projects. He was paid so he sat on the job. Excuse after excuse. I told him I was going to write bad review on Angie List and boy did he jump on the job then! He sent out one of his workers and the guy was finished in one half hour. Funny he couldn't do this before. I had to wait nearly 2 months for them to get out here. He also built some small steps outside my back door and did not put a top step on it. Could not even get out my back door! This guy is not the sharpest tool on the shed. And any grievances one has about him he calls them a racist. What an extremely unprofessional person!. Hired for a big drywall job, paid 20% upfront, and after one day, he quit without telling me! We had to have a hearing for me to get my money back (he had the audacity to say non-refundable!). During the hearing, he constantly lied about every aspect of scope of work he performed. Luckily, I had photo evidence and arbitrator ruled in my favor. Now, over two months after he basically tried to steal my money, he misses deadline after deadline to pay full amount so it looks like I have to initiate the legal process......again! read more

My review is like the others. My experience with A Brush Away Painting was a nightmare. Yes, extremely unprofessional! The relative that completed the inside painting job in my house was so nice, but he was obviously untrained or, at the very least, unassisted and unsupported by the owner. The top of all of my molding was left unpainted, dirt was painted into the baseboard molding, my entire downstairs was covered in dust after the job, and I had to clean it, every antique and piece of furniture I own is paint splattered, my laminate floor is paint splattered, my dining room table top is ruined--rags with some kind of paint remover were placed on my table, and that's just for starters. When I balked at the final balance (because of all the damage) and the owner's demand for a check on the spot (it was at the highest end of the price the owner quoted me), he texted to his relative who did the job for me to stop being such "a Karen" and just pay the bill. Even the storm drain in front of my house is covered in paint! It appears that they poured it (or paint water?) down the storm drain. It's a wonder that my town didn't fine me. I have been ripped off for thousands of dollars and feel totally violated. I have tons of photos for anyone who's interested, especially since it appears that the owner will not be honest if confronted. read more
