There is a large pool that has the same spectacular views that can be enjoyed from everywhere on the property. Ideal for a great family holiday, the villa is private but only 200 metres from a small village. The Tuscan villa is a twenty five minute drive from both Lucca and the spa town of Bagni di Lucca. For visits to Florence, Siena, Pisa and the Versilia beaches and towns, you will find this house ideally placed. The house has been lovingly restored, with care taken to preserve and enhance the original ambience and features. Dating from the turn of the century, it stands three storeys high against a backdrop of vines belonging to the property. The decorations and furnishings are tastefully chosen and typical of the area, as are the floors of terracotta tiles. The ceilings are high and built using chestnut beams and terracotta tiles which are left exposed. In the garden there is an outdoor bread/pizza oven, which still functions beautifully. The owners also have a more conventional style barbeque available for guests use. The garden at the front provides an ideal space for games, without the worry that someone will accidentally fall into the swimming pool, as the pool is situated up a flight of steps to the left of the terrace. Inside the Main house, there are four double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a shower room, a kitchen/dining room and a living room. The Barn has two double bedrooms, shower room, kitchen and lounge/dining room. Both houses are well equipped, with washing machines, dishwashers, etc., although the Barn does not have satellite TV with a full set of channels. The kitchen/dining room of the Main house is large and well equipped, having hot & cold water, gas and electric cooking facilities, a dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, washer/dryer (in the hall) and large fridge. There is ample kitchenware and crockery for self catering. This Tuscany holiday villa is located near a small country village in the hilly countryside surrounding Lucca, therefore near cultural interest (city of Lucca) and near the coast (Versilian coastline). We received…read morea very friendly and kind welcome when we arrived and were instantly impressed with the beauty and cleanliness of the property. The check-in process went smoothly, we were given information about the local area, then accompanied to our villa. The 3 spacious bedrooms all had en-suite bathrooms which were decorated beautifully and provided sufficient storage space for our clothes and luggage. The living and dining rooms were also very well appointed and comfortable for our group of 6 adults. Though those spaces were not large, we were all able to sit comfortably and enjoy breakfast in the mornings and wine and movies at night. One of my favourite things to do while there was watching the sunrise every morning while relaxing under the Tuscan sun and reading my book, before preparing for a day of exploration. The kitchen, though small, was quite adequate and functional. There was a minor issue with the refrigerator which was quickly resolved after contacting the Front Desk. The view every morning and every evening was nothing short of fantastic! I definitely recommend this property for couples and adult groups. Not so much for young children. You will surely need a vehicle in this area of Tuscany, but don't worry, there are ample parking spots in the covered parking garage and also a few outside. The property is about a 20-minute drive to the local train station, Pontedera Casciana. On our day trip to Rome, we parked at Casciana Terme and took a local train to Florence. From there, we took the high-speed Frecciarosa train to Roma Termini. After a busy day in Rome, we did the trip in reverse and found our vehicle right where we left it earlier that morning, undisturbed at Casciana Terme. Drove back to Borgo alle Vigne to enjoy another night of drinking wine and watching a movie before going to bed. Many thanks to the lovely staff at Borgo alle Vigne for a wonderful, enjoyable, and memorable stay. Thanks also for the complimentary bottle of delicious wine celebrating the property's 10th anniversary. Looking forward to a return visit.

I am currently staying here for a week-long retreat. What I love first about this place is the family-owned and operated feel. From your arrival you're treated like a family friend who is visiting. Everything from hospitality to meals is special! Thinking of having your wedding in Italy? Specifically Tuscany? This venue is perfect, not only because there are tons of rooms to stay in but the party happens right in the backyard. And the setting provides a fairy tale wedding. Trim gardens, dinner and dancing space, a temperate climate and views of Tuscan rolling hills... not sure how else you can perfect a Villa. This place is truly magical. I'm staying in the Tosca room, which is a two-story suite. There's room for 4 adults and even more if cots are available. Two full bathrooms, two full closets, a king bed and a sofa bed. Coffee bar, fridge, TV, safe, plenty of outlets and. A view of the gardens. I am currently writing this review sitting in bed listening to the fountain outside the window. This Villa is in a great location. If you don't have a car, it's only a 20-25 euro taxi over from Lucca train station (At Pisa airport take the air shuttle -5 euro- to the left of the airport to the last stop, the Pisa train station, the purchase a ticket for the regionale train to lucca using the computer kiosk) The Villa organizes excursions that provide transportation- for instance, there is one to Siena. But renting a car form Pisa airport is probably the most convenient and liberating option for the Tuscany region. Most trains are regionale and subject to strikes, sometimes bereft conditions and long travel times. If you decide to stay at Villa Daniela, you are in for a treat!! Enjoy!

The proprietors were super friendly and helpful with getting into the place and in providing all sorts of useful information for use during our stay. The elevator at this location was very helpful in dealing with our luggage and is welcome because it's not a guarantee at these kinds of apartment/airb&b places. The location is nice, being quiet and accessible by taxi if you are coming from the train station like us, but also not being a far walk from most things you want to see or do within the walls of the old city. Having to separate and manage the trash is a tiny gripe but it's a by product of how the city handles trash and is understandable. It's just a part of staying in a place like this vs. a hotel. As a positive trade off you get much more space and for 5 people we paid less than staying at a hotel in the city was going to cost us.
