    Driven for pickup
    Derek Y.

Order my Thanksgiving Turkey, First time here, use to go to Zippy's. The difference is the Turkey is ready to eat, you don't have to warm it up. Everything was really fast 10min in line drive thru. Very organized, a lot of people directing traffic. They even had a live band playing music. Load everything in your car. Pick up was at the Okinawa Center in Waipio. Will definitely go back next year. Aloha, Derek

Hour 5 minutes and still waiting for my turkey package

This is fn ridiculous. Pick up time was at 2pm. Just passed the puck up site at 150 and the line of cars is crazy. A long line of cars on the main road and a long line of cars across the street. Still across the street, 45 minutes later. Noone is moving. Wow! I made it across the street hour 5 minutes later. I'm about to lose it. I'm thirsty, it's hot, I'm hungry and pretty soon I need to go to the bathroom...what's goring on...there better be a turkey package with my name on it! That's all I'm gonna say! Hour 15 minutes have passed and still waiting in a long line of cars...to be continued... I'm back after waiting 1 hour 20 minutes pass my turkey pick up time, I finally got my food. Was told that they were waiting for the turkey to be delivered. I will think twice about ordering next year.

I'm excited to share this review. The Catered Experience food was exceptional, and the customer care was even more. I was planning our company Thanksgiving Luncheon for 45 people and was told about a special that The Catered Experience was having if I signed a contract by a certain time. So this special was $26.35 pp for all Thanksgiving fixings plus prime rib and fish. It was July, I got their email via their website and emailed my Thanksgiving order not needed until November. Wendy from Customer Service replied promptly, got the contract to me, accepted my cc payment and we were all set, can't get any easier than that! Wendy always replied right away to my questions, and was great at communicating any of my special requests. The day before our delivery was set, I had to increase the headcount and Wendy happily obliged. Rafael was our delivery person, out of courtesy, he called to let me know that he was on his way. He brought all of the food upstairs to our office in an insulated rollaway to keep the food hot. He introduced himself, and placed our food on the counters while he named each dish, the sauces and explained what they are for. The prime rib was the highlight, it was warm and we requested to have it pre-cut for easy serving. This prime rib was juicy and tender enough to use a pIastic knife. Pretty decent for prime rib that wasn't cut fresh from under a warmer. It was fall apart soft, and had a nice browning to it, just the way I like it. The crust on the prime rib was flavorful, and not salty, each piece had some of that delicious crust. There was so much food, the typical turkey, stuffing, gravy, ham, all very good, the best thanksgiving catered food I've had. The macadamia nut crusted fish with ginger sauce wiped out, another favorite of the party. I ordered for 45, but could have probably fed an additional 10 people. I normally plan our Thanksgiving lunch at work, and we have it at the office most times. With The Catered Experience, they brought the food upstairs, and that was a pleasant surprise. I usually have to meet the caters downstairs with a pushcart to bring the food upstairs myself. The price $26.35 pp, is what I would typically pay for our company Thanksgiving meal WITHOUT the prime rib and fish. Can't beat the food, of the 17 years planning our parties, this was the most value for the price. Thank you to Wendy, and Rafael for your friendly service and for making our gathering a success!

A Catered Experience provided superb service during my baby's first birthday lu'au. They were on time, they were well staffed, they were considerate about our timeline and how they set aside extra food for people to take home. The food was delicious, warm, and presented beautifully. Thank you to the team who serviced our event, you guys were great!

From the same parent company as Zippy's is "A Catered Experience". My notes: professional/quick response to my email. prompt delivery. free delivery to nearby area. very reasonable prices. large portions. great food. not the best ever but pretty good for catering. kalbi and ham were surprisingly good. sushi and potato salad were junk. they provide plates, forks, and napkins. I had to provide SERVING UTENSILS. no headache. pay ahead of time, sign contract. DONE. Prices start at $6.95/head for Menu A, minimum 25 people. I got the deluxe Menu D which was $11.75/head and I have leftovers for the next month. LUNCH/DINNER MENU D (DELUXE) Barbecue Kal Bi Short Ribs Mochiko Chicken Baked Ham with Pineapple Raisin Sauce Fried Noodles Assorted Sushi (Maki, Teppo Maki, Inari) Steamed White Rice Tossed Salad with Dressing Potato Salad

I ordered thanksgiving dinner. The food was good, and I didn't have to cook. I will be probably ordering Christmas dinner from them too.

We had Bobby cater our wedding in November and the food was such a hit! We would recommend them…read moreover and over again! Our experience with Bobby started with private a tasting in their lounge of a few of the things we were hoping to have on our menu. We tried two mains, a salad and a few sides... when I say everything was a smash it, i really mean it! Our package included a third main and we honestly told him he could pick what to bring because obviously he knows how to cook- it'd be impossible to choose! For our wedding we had the kalbi shortribs, garlic shrimp, and huli huli chicken for our mains. Our salad was the one with the warm bacon dressing (OMG DELICIOUS), and we also had truffle mashed potatoes, a ratatouille, rice and i think 3 appetizers. It was ALL so good. Our guests have been raving about it since. Not only was the food to die for, but also the service before and during the wedding too! we had a few dietary restrictions to accommodate and Bobby was so easy to work with and already had ideas ready to go. Then there's the wait staff - who brought my husband and I full plates of everything first, before anyone else. So many people say they don't get to eat at their own weddings and they made sure that DIDNT happen to us. I was still so anxious that I didn't clear my plate but everything i DID eat was just as good as the tasting. The staff stayed and helped my coordinator for the rest of the night as well. After dinner they boxed up all the leftover food for us to take home and I was so happy for that! Since I didn't eat a ton at my own wedding I got to house all of the leftovers with our families. The taste, the value, the service... it really can't be beat. We've already decided we'll be tracking down his foodtruck whenever we can!

Of course his other foods are great but I don't cook the dishes he makes which is why I'm pointing out the fried noodles. I love that this man is personable and you can really tell the love and passion that goes into his dishes. Rob is such a respectable man and very friendly. You need to inquire on his catering services because apparently he doesn't disappoint. Follow him on Instagram so you can keep up where he's at. Go get 'um!

Two weeks ago, I saw a group on FB called 808 Best Lunch Wagons, Restaurants & Entertainments that…read moresomeone had posted the menu for Ige's and saw that Wednesday they would have baked spaghetti, my favorite going to school. Wednesday, had the internet fixed in the morning, picked up my cousin at 10:30 and she gave me directions to Ige's because all this time, I didn't know they were still in business. Oops. Ige's is located in the Waimalu area behind Goodwill on Kam Hwy. There's several small businesses back there and all these driveways, you can miss this place easily. On the main driveway, there's a bike path that crosses it, and an old guard shack. After this, you want to take the second driveway on the left. You know you're going down the right path when you see Guieb restaurant on the left, which I also didn't know was here. And drive all the way to the end. Ige's is the very last store on the left. You'll see the lunch line. They are only open for lunch from Tuesdays to Fridays from 9:30 am - 1 pm, so you should plan ahead. The regular menu differs each day and for now, the daily specials have remained unchanged. But to make sure, check out their IG @igesaiea. When you get there, they do have some grab and goes that are not advertised. As far as pricing, they are pretty reasonable, regular plates are between $13 - $16. However, the portions, let's say it's really heavy. My cousin got a mixed plate of chicken hekka and pork teriyaki. And I got the baked spaghetti, no rice, with toss and Mac salad. And the spaghetti filled half the plate with a good amount of height. Ige's is counter only, a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Therefore there are no seats. I asked my cousin if she wanted to grab a table at Neal Blaisdell park down the street and she quickly declined. So we drove back to her house for lunch. My cousin did enjoy her chicken hekka and pork. I'm didn't get to taste it because I was too involved with my meal. At first glance, it wasn't the brick, lasagna-style like school where there was a thick layer of cheese on top. However, without the cheese, it was still tasted the same from what I could remember. Because the portion is heavy, my cousin could only eat a fourth of her lunch while I thought I better tap out at 1/3. So she didn't need to make dinner for her family while I had dinner and lunch for the next day. Although the interaction was short, the counter person was pleasant and very helpful. As you look into the kitchen, you can see a lot of people hustling back there as they also do catering. I'll be away for two weeks but I am looking forward to picking up lunch when I get back and I am definitely brining family here, I just need to figure out a good place for a picnic.

There are 3 related but separately owned and operated family catering food businesses on Oahu, and…read moreall are home-style cooking: * Ige's Lunchwagon & Catering (Aiea); owned/operated by Ron Ige since 1990. * Ige's (Halawa). Operated by members of the extended Ige Family, focusing on buffet catering and bento services. * Ige's Catering (Mapunapuna). Originally established by Rachel Ige since 1969, opening out of Masa's Cafeteria. This review is for Ige's Lunchwagon & Catering (Aiea). I remember years ago I once ordered pork nishime ala carte, and it was so flavorful and with the generous serving, it lasted for several meals! Because I don't live nearby, I lost track of following the Instagram/Facebook menu and the short weekday hours. Thanks to Yelper Sach T. for reminding me what Ige's has to offer! This Aiea-based business is known for its generous portions of local plate lunches, catering services, and Okinawan-style dishes like sweet sour spareribs and shoyu pork. It offers daily lunch specials and catering for events, with a reputation for large, affordable meals with leftovers. Their lunch menu for the weekdays include: turkey/chicken ala king, Korean fried chicken, fresh corned beef, meatloaf, pork tofu, roast turkey, chicken curry, checken hekka, pork teri, hamburger steak, Hawaiian plate, tripe/beef stew, long rice, bbq spareribs, shoyu chicken, roast pork, chicken fried steak/katsu, catch of the day. In addition, their weekly specials per weekday include: teri beef tips, sweet sour spareribs, curryburger stew, pork cutlet w/ gravy, shoyu chicken, baked spaghetti, fried saimin, fried chicken thighs, chicken long rice, turkey tail adobo, baked luncheon meat, fresh fish patties, pork nishime, chow fun w/ pork teri, baked rosemary chicken, and catch of the day. Plus, maki sushi and cone sushi are available. Plate lunches can come with rice. mac salad, chow mein, and pickled onions; but if you want all entrée, it's $1 more. It's astounding to think of what is available! Our recent visit included our ordering of: * Sweet sour spare ribs. This is exactly how I like my sweet sour spare ribs - vinegary, meat easily off the bone or tendon, lots of gravy over rice! Old-school cooking brings back memories of eating this when growing up! * Chicken hekka. Lots of long rice, chicken, celery, green onions, shiitake make this old-school cooking dish a winner! * Maki/cone sushi. Nice flavors to this sushi that are good for snacking! Great entrees to order in place of having to cook, as they lasted for several meals for hubby and myself! Items were pre-ordered over the phone to ensure that Ige's didn't run out of food and due to the short hours that they are open. Phone orders were done processed quickly, as they just asked for your name by friendly staff. There is a separate phone order pick-up area to expedite paying and receiving your order. Otherwise, you'll find a line of customers waiting to order in the regular order line. No dine-in, as it is strictly take-out. Hours of operation are short, Tues to Fri only from 9:30a to 1:00p only; Mon and weekends closed. Free parking available in large lot shared by other businesses in the complex. Staff works out of a kitchen behind Cutter Ford in Aiea in a "lunchwagon" style of services. Known for its delicious old-school local cuisine, extensive food choices, generous portions, affordable meals, authentic flavors, and friendly customer service, Ige's Lunchwagon & Catering in Aiea is a great place for lunch or dinner! And especially if you're too lazy to cook!
