Sells comics in bunches/sets if you are looking to start a collection. Store also stocks a half wall of toys towards the back and collectable figurines around the register area in the front. Clean, well lit, and organized. Literally, the store is stocked from bottom to top. Whitehall Mall is more of a shopping center then a mall, with most of the stores having external entrances, Comicmasters is located in the small indoor "mall" portion. The indoor portion of the mall was rather dimly lit during our evening visit.

I can understand why some people might miss this shop, as you have to deal with a busy highway to access the complex. JC Comics should not be missed and is a solid shop.

Mike the owner is very accommodating and it very fair to sellers when making offers to buy their books. (Often explaining how much they would be resold for an makes a reasonable offer based on that price). Mike and Jackie have excellent knowledge about Comics, Toys and Funco Pops and serious collectors shop there weekly because of them. I'm at a total loss for why there are some bad reviews here, Yes they have a sign that they are always buying, but you are best calling ahead and asking when the owner is in (which is almost all the days). As he is the one that will make the best offer and he really knows what sells well and doesn't. (Avoid Sundays and Mondays if you are there to sell your collection). Word to the wise, when selling a collection, it is always best to call ahead, see when the best time to visit is and see if they are interested in your collection. If they are, this is a great place to deal with as you won't get robbed. Naturally they are a business and need to stay profitable and need to buy at a rate that allows them to mark it up, but you aren't going to walk in with a rare comic that is worth $500 and walk out with 20 dollars, I've seen Mike buy and he is very honest. (Sometimes that means that he has to refuse to buy items that he can't sell, and other times people walk out with much more than expected. A reviewer complained about parking during a snow storm. My feeling is that the person with the car parking problem wasn't even dealing with the people who own the comic shop, probably from another business or an irate person who is a customer of the vacuum shop. Another reviewer said that they didn't feel comfortable there and I find this hard to fathom, I've always felt comfortable there and noticed that they treat their regular customers like family, often knowing about them, their jobs and families and remembering to ask them about things that they have shared about their lives (Changing Jobs, Children's health, Weddings, loss of family members, etc.).

On my first visit, I asked one of the owners for some recommendations. She was then more than happy to guide me around the store, with a wide variety of examples. The store moved a few shops down (still in the same complex), and I LOVE what they've done with it. Everything is even more organized, easy to find, and clearly labeled. The store itself is relatively small, but then again, most comic stores ARE small. But do not be deceived, good reader. The number of books housed at Comic Relief is quite a lot! The owner is always courteous. But he doesn't say very much if anything at all. Which can be a good thing if you're an introvert, I suppose. :) Overall, this place is excellent for finding the latest releases and even hard-to-find variant covers. However, it's not the best for back issues or quality of issues, for that matter. If it hasn't come out within that same week, expect to find bent corners, spine ticks, and spine wear galore on most of the books. It's not that people are beating the books to hell. It's actually the racks on which they sit, which tend to be simple wire shelves with gaps in them, that the books fall victim to. The wood shelf system on the back wall is much more efficient. However, the way the books tend to be packed on those shelves can also give way to an epic collapse knocking several books to the floor in a matter of seconds. Yikes! And yes, I did see that happen on a number of occasions.
